Hive Android is an open-source standalone Bitcoin wallet. No external server or cloud service needed - the keys to your bitcoins are stored on your device.

App permissions
The core app uses as few permissions as possible. Some features - like finding Hive users based on your location - are disabled as a result. You have the option of installing the app "Hive Permission Pack" to enable these features.

I really did like this wallet. I tried to receive some bit coin from LBC but when I copied and pasted the address from the app it gave two extra letters that shouldn't be there.. I copied and pasted further more and received the error. Been 3 hours still no bitcoin

Most user friendly wallet app that actually feels like a wallet. Please add ability to put comments/notes with transactions. This feature would be really useful to keep track of what the BTC was sent/received for.

It looks nice and works fine but no way am I keeping Bitcoins on my phone without a way to back them up online. If my phone gets broken, they are gone, so that's a deal breaker. There are others that allow an encrypted backup to be stored on Google Drive, that's my favorite option.

The app is simple and sleek and offers great features. It's snappy, straightforward to use and has all the important things available with one touch. Of notice is that it has a very interesting integrated app store and that it supports the payment protocol aka bip70! Certainly one of the best wallets on Android (I have not tried Hive on Osx but I only heard good things!)

This wallet is built on the same architecture as the Andreas Schildbach bitcoin wallet. Will have to wait and see how it develops. I would like to see it easily interface with Coinbase.

Thanks to this app I have lost a total of £170 stick with the original btc apps as hive has some serious bugs
