History Today for Android
Should be able to login as I'm a print subscriber but clicking the relevant login button does nothing. No pop up for entering details. Broken.
This is a good app. Easy to use and no glitches that I can see. The only issues are the lack of a paged text option and no bookmark function. For many, like me, scrolling text is very difficult to read and the lack of a book mark option means that stopping mid-article requires trawling through the text when you start reading again. Adding these options would make the app all but perfect.
The old app allows you to download and store the magazines on your SD card, this one doesn't. Worst is there is no way fro someone to subscribe for me. I used to have only the digital version - that's all I want - and it was a present. Now this can't be done so I am no longer able to receive and read this magazine. I don't have a credit card.
Still I'm missing some features, like highlighting and notes. And please: for older tablets it would be really important, to store downloaded issues on the SD card.
Despite paying 80 quid, I can't access digital content and I can't get a response from the publishers
Good.
Really enjoy this app. It is easy to use and the navigation is intuitive and fluid. One thing on my wishlist: the ability to zoom in pictures when I click on them. Sometimes seeing details is great.
Absolutely hopeless. This App only allows print subscribers to see digital copies from July 2015 onwards whereas old App allowed you to see digital copies going back years to when History Today first started producing digital versions. I made mistake of deleting old App and now have no access to any copies older than July 2015. Beware of this and do not delete old App. The new App is a retrograde step. History Today is very poor at ciustomer relations. They could have warned Print Subscribers about this issue but instead their email just implied get the new version. I am an academic and have been a taker of this magazine since 1970 and it is a quality production but their venture into the electronics world, is a disaster.
yes, i like it!

But the interface would be better if notes were enabled, and if the typeface could be resized more by the reader. I get only a few dozen words on my 5 inch screen with the smallest type.
