Paprika Recipe Manager for Android
A truly great Recipe managing app. Not only can you enter you own and upload photos, but you can also use the built-in browser to navigate to your favorite recipes online and the app will extra all the necessary info with the push of a button. I don't buy many apps but this was a great investment since it syncs across my tablet, phone, and computer. Also, would love to see more built-in sharing options (Facebook Messenger, etc.)
I used to love this app. But they promised an upgrade for Android years ago and it never came. It's not even up to 2.0. All during that time, they kept updating IOS and Windows, but nothing for Android. It seems the app has now been abandoned. There has been no news for many months. I have been searching for a replacement app but can't find anything that will import from Paprika. I have too many recipes to manually add them. If anyone knows of an app that will accept Paprika recipes, I would love to know that info!
I've tried every app I could find to replace FoodPlanner since it's no long supported. This one has great potential, but there are a few things that could use work. I would really like to see, either a weekday widget that shows what is planned for each day, or the ability to sync with Google Calendar. Additionally, the trial version on PC has a pantry section, to keep track of inventory I would love to be able to do that from the app! I'm not sure what all it keeps track of, but I would want it to include things like amount, unit, store, category, price, and expiration date. I really do like the recipe browser in Paprika. I didn't think I would find that useful, but it's nice. I would gladly pay a subscription fee for those features even, as I know development takes resources. I think lots of people would. I have seen so many of these types of apps abandoned, but they are so useful!
This app is great. No other app compares and is definitely worth the miney. One thing that would make the app better is being able to see the nutrition info without having to click edit on the recipe. It would also be even better if you integrated a nutrition tracker or make it so we can copy our recipes/ meal plans to my fitness pal.
I love all the features of this app and I want to give it 5 stars but the syncing between devices is too unreliable. I'm sitting here in front of my android phone and my I pad. Both reflect a successful sync status of less than a minute ago but one has nothing on the to buy grocery list and the other has 20 items. I'm going to have to go back to Cozi for groceries because of this. Bummer
Great app, interface with browser could use some work (having trouble with All Recipes for example), but otherwise love the grocery list generator and being able to add additional items to it. The one thing I really WISH this app could do would be to share recipes so my wife and I can plan meals and grocery lists.
This app still sucks. No bug fixes for the crashing. My grocery lost wont load or takes forever. What a waste. Ive given up and downloaded another app. Much better! Spent money on an app that won't work at all. Crashes every time I try to use it on my tablet and Samsung galaxy. Horrible. Not worth the money.
I have been having multiple problems with my Paprika app. First it wasn't downloading recipes and now it's extremely slow when I go to sites with the app. These sites are the recommended sites in the app, such as: Allrecipes and Epicurious. I'm running a Motorola Moto G 4 Plus with Marshmallow. I'll stay with the app for a little while longer because I like some of the other features, but I'm going to have to go to something else if these problems keep happening.
By far the best recipe app I've encountered. Would recommend, and have. I wasn't very happy about having to purchase it without a trial though. There are some points needing attention. A multiple tag search would be a good feature. The UI could be made simpler & more intuitive - in the recipe edit mode there's a "Change" button next to each field, whilst the easiest would be just to tap the field. Maybe it's just me but I'm so used to tapping the thing I want to edit that I don't even see the buttons first, even though I KNOW they're there. I also often miss to click the Save button before I exit, being so used to autosave in other apps. I'd rather have that and a discreet prompt "Changes saved - Undo?" What would make this a 6-star app would be calculated macro values. Oh my goodness that would be so sweet! Myfitnesspal sync would be great, too, but primarily I'd just love to see the macros in Paprika.
Has been my fav app and recommending to friends but have Experienced crashes when going to groceries page for a year. I fig out how to go about without it crashing but of late, I could not even go online to download recipes! Frustrating, pls help!!!! My cooking life depends on it!!
Interface is a little dated, but Paprika is great for recipe management. I would give 5 stars, if it wasn't for a few bugs that seem impossible to address (text size option not working, for example), and the fact that the iOS app has several very useful functions that are not in the Android version. It's not 2010 anymore guys, start treating iOS and Android equally!
I own all versions of this because at some point I've had all forms of hardware. I use the windows version on my laptop to add entries and then look at my phone to see what I need to get whilst I'm out. It's the only recipe app that I've used that can be this flexible across platforms. However, it could use a bit of love. I find the UI to be a little clunky and unappealing. It's functional, but there's just something about it that just loses it that last star.
LOVE this app on iOS but shocked how much worse the Android version is. Doesn't recognize URLs in the clipboard, doesn't automatically sync the recipe actions or grocery list, bought items don't stay hidden when adding new items, UI is overall less pleasing. I would be happy to upgrade my rating when some of these issues are fixed - and I would be shocked if they aren't since the iOS version shows that the developers know what they're doing. Come on development team!
This is by far the best recipe app and I've been looking for a long time. So easy and convenient. I also bought the desktop version. Couldn't be happier!
About 30% of the time the save button does not work, really annoying when you've spent 20+ mins editing or typing in a recipe as you have to start ALL over again. Recipe pictures are too small so looks a bit ugly. Emailed customer services, nothing done. When it works though, is a great way to store as many recipes as you want and easy to grab recipes from online with the browser. A shame, could be perfect.
SO cumbersome! Adding one tag to one recipe takes NINE clicks that alternate between top/bottom/left/right of the screen. Then you had better remember which recipe you were tagging because the tag screen doesn't provide any clue. Some screens you have to press SAVE or it loses everything, then on other screens there's no save button. You can't search for more than one tag at a time. And it looks like there isn't a web version?
Just as other Android user commented, can't save recipes, keeps buffering in Allrecipes. How do I get my $4.99 refined. I'll likely uninstall the Paprika app later this week to keep me from throwing my phone across room in frustration.
I love this app. It makes saving recipes and meal planning super easy. My only complaint is that the incorrect picture saves as the recipe icon. Not a major issue, but annoying all the same
Fast. Single buy (no never ending subscriptions), create custom recipes, copy public ones as is or edit and add personal notes, scalable recipes and ingredients, grocery list combines items from multiple recipes and lets you add items with or without a recipe, online syncing between devices so my family stays in sync, desktop version available (extra purchase but well worth it if you've got a number of recipes to add), and the ability to export recipes so I can take my custom recipes with me if ever needed.
I really love this app and recommend it to my friends often. I am giving it a 4 because the Android version makes adding personal items to the grocery list more difficult than need be. Instead of just hitting enter then going to the next item (like iPhone) you have to save then hit the plus sign then put in your item, save and so on.. a bit picky I know. I also find my grocery list toggles between all, and bought while I'm trying to add new items to my list. Suggestion: It would be awesome to be able to add categories in the shopping list. I buy certain things at a local market, some things at Costco ECT. It would be lovely to break them out by store.
While I love the app, I've encountered issues such as having multiple "+" buttons in my grocery list. Hitting one will add a grocery item, but hitting the other wants to add a recipe. If I force close the app and open it again this issue goes away. Also, when swiping out the left side menu, it has a tendency to hide the top bar so all the buttons shift up. This doesn't happen in every menu screen but when it does it continually causes me to hit the wrong button. When I'm in my "to buy" tab of the grocery list and add an item it will show all my items (checked and unchecked). If I switch to the "all" tab and back to "to buy" then all the checked items disappear as they should. Also, why no pantry feature on Android?
Probably the best and most reliable recipe manager out there, but really needs some attention, on a number of levels, particularly UI/UX and recipe entry flow. Otherwise, great.
lost all my recipes and cant get new password. unable to use at all or recover password. No access to support. This app stole my money.
A friend of mine highly recommended this app to me, and I couldn't be more disappointed. Since I downloaded this app I haven't been able to save a recipe once. I have to go through the app's browser to actually save something, except it is always constantly buffering/loading. Will maybe download again after the next update for android, but I won't have it just taking up space on my phone.
Happy with it on Samsung Note 4. Easy to import recipes and meal plan. Works on an old Android tablet (2.x.x), but can have long loading times.
My daughter-in-law and I recently started Weight Watchers. This app makes it so easy to save and organize recipes that have WW points. A touch of a button creates our grocery list. It's super easy to create a weekly menu. Definitely an app that will stay on my phone and well worth the five bucks!
This is the first app I've ever paid for and it is so worth the money! It makes meal planning so much easier! I used to copy and paste recipes into a word document to plan out meals for the next 1-2 weeks and it took forever. This makes it easy to save recipes, add them to the calendar, and it looks like the screen doesn't time out while I'm cooking so I don't have to turn on my phone screen while I'm trying to cook!
Missing a few nice to have features (like built in timer) but better than most other similar apps for Android out there. Works best on my tablet because then I can see ingredients and steps in the same view
Would have given this 5 but it needs a sign in so when your tablet gets broken you can retrieve your recipes (which have taken hours to collect and type out) on a new device,,,,devastated
Best app on my phone! Search web for recipies in the app, download immediately. Double or half recipe, no problem. List recipie in more than one category; email recipie, email grocery list, if I can think of it, Paprika does it!
When you go to add recipes to the Meal Plan view, after adding recipes or meals to one day, the app deletes all the recipes from the previous day which is really frustrating!
The app functions well. It's fairly easy to use and collects recipes easily enough. The UI on both the windows application and Android app is quite dated. Functional, but dated.
The only thing that would make this app better would be the ability to search on multiple categories. There is a work around to add the categories to the ingredients list but that is kind of a pain.
I have used this app for ages and it is awesome, download of recipes from websites or type in to save. It sync seamlessly across my samsung devices. Super easy to use with best functions e.g. meal planing and grocery list not sure what is my favourite :) Thank you. I also love that it is a one off payment app not subscription because i dont do subscriptions.
I bought it as a replacement for Ziplist thinking I might use the other features, but it is terrible at grocery lists. Really, really terrible. If you want a list app, try Wunderlist. Or Any.do. Or anything but this app.
Scale works on recipes on the computer but breaks in android app. Unacceptable for a PAID application. EDIT: problem fixed
Great app, works great on all my devices. The standout feature is the ability to send recipes from the browser on almost every website automatically to your Paprika library. Would love to have some of the features on other platforms, but not a deal breaker. Easy sharing with other users' Paprika libraries would be nice as well.
I can't import recipes from my email to paprika. I feel like I wasted my money since I can't use it. Very disappointed
This is an exceptional app. I have it for my android, my desktop and my iPhone and it works perfectly between them all. I use every bit of it and have over 300 recipes so far. Probably the best "app" I have ever purchased.

I've used this app since the first iPad version and now use it on my Windows 10 pc and Android tablet and phone. I cook and bake a lot and really can't imagine a better recipe app. I especially love the ability to scale my recipes, plan my meals and the grocery list. Plus having it on all devices saved to the cloud is great. It is my most used app and my only "keeper" since my first tablet. The technical support has been great. I recently emailed them to ask to make it easier to email recipes from the Windows 10 version.
