HiMama Parent for Android
Outstanding idea and much helpful for parents. Little improvements needed on analytics side. e.g. details of food and drinks consumptions, total time of sleep and play, details of diaper changes, so parents can notice/inform if their kids need any extra attentions. Overall I like the app.
This app is so outdated feeling and cumbersome to use. I agree with some other users that they need to take some queues from other apps like Brightwheel that are more current and easier to use. Also, GIVE ME THE ABILITY TO DOWNLOAD PHOTOS OF MY KIDS! This should be a basic function... Come on guys.
This app has provided such peace of mind throughout the day. As a full time working mama to twins, I love getting updates on their moods and seeing pictures of how happy they are at daycare. It helps to lessen the guilt of working!
I used the app tadpoles before using hi Mama, and I think hi Mama definitely has some quirks it needs to work on. It is not as user-friendly as I would like it to be. as a parent and a teacher using hi Mama I find it challenging and slightly out of date
Very cool app. Obviously your care provider has to use it for it to be cool. Ours uses it very well! Sometimes there are some glitches in having it update. The user interface is not super intuitive but it can be figured out.
Only partial reports are shown in the app. You have to log into your email to receive any decent information about your child's day. There is no option to download pictures. If this company has an IT department it should be overhauled. Costumer service is lacking as well.
Thanks to this app, my day goes without worry. My son goes to daycare dince he was 2m and they can update us constantly with this. Thank you. In fact, it is one of the must have apps i recommend.
I like the idea of the app; let's me know how my child is doing throughout the day. But the app itself is horrible. There's not a lot of functions and it doesn't flow between events smoothly.
Wish there was more information. Like possibly a section where providers could add more about your child's mood and behavior without them having to type notes/email. It is also hard to figure out how to get updates.
Difficult to use. If there was a way to see more than the current day, I would like it more, but I can't go back and view anything that was previously submitted. It is nice getting a log at the end of the day to document his eating pattern, but I have to still write it down in a notebook in order to save it.
Many features missing as compared to the website. Say, the Calendar in the web portal allows us to see the details of meals for the entire month. Another example is the crew members, which is unavailable in the app. This app probably needs a lot of work to sync with its website. Only use of the app is to view the report, which anyways comes in the email. Disliked it.
Won't close the app with the back arrow on my Note 5. Can't zoom in on pics. And on first try/click on a pic, you cannot view the photo. You have to close the journal and reopen it to view any pics.
This app needs a lot of work. Only half of the report info shows up. Photos in time line have top half missing. Not very useful, except for the notification that the actual report is available. Hoping for improvement.
Love the app. Very convenient form of communication from teachers to parents. I enjoy receiving picture or video updates. Gave one less star because the summary page sometimes has bugs or glitches and information is duplicated or wrong.
I don't know how many times I've wanted to call to check on my babies or wondered what my daughter was up to right then. This app helps to ease my worries and let's me know what they are learning throughout the day! Love it!!!
Great idea that need much work. I can't understand what's the multiple emails I get every day for...the app couldn't be enough. Also the pictures can't be saved directly from the app.
It's a great idea that needs a but leaves me wanting more 1) keep reports history accessible. Maybe have a calendar view where I could look back on previous day reports and also see upcoming activities like field trips or school closures 2) add calendar 3) add trend graph with sleep/nap times or total hours per day 4) would be nice to see which meals he always eats all vs some vs none
Not very intuitive. Better navigation between reports and pictures would be great. Quite slow initially but functions ok overall. Love being able to see pics as they are uploaded.
Navigation is awful, super full of bugs, and not well featured. Would like to see a history for reports.
It's nice to get pictures and not have a paper trail. But as other users have mentioned a few things need to be fixed like usability. There's just a little something that send to be missing. But I am really happy otherwise to have it, good updates for emergencies especially.
It's a good app, but it's not the easiest to navigate. If you hit the back button you can't get out of the app, which is frustrating.
I love being able to see what is going on with my children when I am away at work. Makes me feel like I am not missing out on as many activities as I would otherwise. It's also a great tool to see how much they did or did not eat to explain why they skipped dinner or support that they may not be feeling well. A great app!
I don't know what happened, but recently this app has not been working properly. Good luck with bug fixing. I'm sure you'll need it.
Easy to use and quick! Never miss a report and it's detailed enough to where I don't have to bother or call the teachers to see what happened during the day.
I love getting to see my kids at daycare.. Great app. I agree needs a few minor updates to app to let you do all the things you can do on website
It is a great idea that just needs a bit of work. Would be great if it had a summary page similar to the daily emails so I don't have to click on Report. I also haven't found a way to view previous reports (maybe it is possible but finding it is not inuitive). Finally some analytics would be good - things like sleep and diaper use trends would be appreciated by data-hungry parents.
The app needs some User Interface updates, the "back" button on most androids don't take you to the previous screen they make you select the close icon just to exit a picture. a few fixes and this app will get 5 stars.
I love getting electronic updates on what my son does all day at daycare. I found the app clumsy to use and is frequently inaccurate. My emails have far more detail than the report in the app. I can't interact with the report at all, like make comments on activities. Can't figure out how to manage the crew from the app.
Been a great way to keep up to date with what my kids are doing. I tend to be a bit forgetful and forget to read updates when I pick them up or drop them off. Good to get emails letting me know when the report is ready to view
I love this app. I get real time updates on any minor issues with my kids. And at the end of the day I know exactly how much they ate, what they ate and how long they slept. I've had no issues with the use of the app. It loads easily and has never crashed. I only wish that I had access to old reports. And to get a good look at pictures, I need to go in through the website.
Compared to another childcare app we used previously, I don't like how there are delays in updates, especially for toddlers. The amount eaten for meals is vague, naps are not updated until child wakes up, and notifications are not pushed.
It was a tough decision to go back to work and put my babies in daycare but this app quiets some of those regrets by giving me a glance at what my children are doing throughout the day. I'm not a fan of sending an email to an unusual address to contact my provider instead of having an ability to message my caregiver directly. Other than that, I really appreciate this app!
I noticed people at the day care are having a hard time figuring out how to do things. And simple things like looking at the pictures they post is buggy. Zooming is terrible and many times I click the picture, get an error, have to go back and open it again to see it. The concept is great, but user experience is not
The app does not have the info from the web or in the emails. Of the 4 days my child has been in pre-school, and only two days worth of info has reached the app, and it was only pictures, no reports.
I like the app I work in a daycare and this is a great idea the only thing I would like to see is a spot for learning outcome for the day or a place for teachers to write something more about child's play experience
Slow and buggy, so I just stuck to the browser app. Not all items in the report show up, bug where report doesn't load, or won't stop loading and just continuously appends the same data infinitely. The first time I got to the report page was by accident, and took forever to figure out how I got there (why can't Report just be another option in the hamburger menu? Instead of being the page icon next to Activity)
Love the peace of mind I have after our daycare started using this program. I'm still trying to get used to the layout and how to navigate through the app though.
This app is wonderful! My 3 year old doesn't always remember what she had to eat or what she played during the day. So this is so great to have on hand
Love being able to get updates throughout the day for our daughter. A couple issues I've noticed when tapping images and not having them load right away until I hit back and tap again but overall nothing super critical.
