Out Loud for Android
could you maybe add ability to change TTS pitch? The shouter app allows this, but they lack the options you give for reading out a notification. their app reads out the app name but you guys give me the option to exclude app name and more!. i love all the options you give. ive tried so many others but yours is the only one that allows me to simply read out the main content text and nothing else. keep giving us options like that so we can tailor to our specific needs. you understand me :) Just add TTS pitch.
I always found Google Reminders to be useless because I had to look at my phone immediately or I'd miss the notification, which defeats the purpose of a reminder. Now I'm laid up after surgery and needed reminders for my meds. This app literally saved the day and does exactly what I need. I paid for the full version even though I have no need or desire to use multiple apps. It's that good. Thank you!
Useful but what is supposed to be the use case of different languages for different apps? If I communicate with people in different languages I use the same app for that, and I can't set up this app properly for my use case! Edit: Thus it would be very useful if the language would depend on a word that is included in the text, not only on the app where the notification comes from. Like the filter in the blacklist.
This app has been a lifesaver when I'm out riding my bike...I just connect it to my bluetooth speaker, and if I'm heading somewhere and I get a message saying plans have changed, it's easy for me to adjust. Anytime someone asks about my speaker, I tell them about the app, too! Blacklists and substitutions make notifications a lot nicer
The app does what it claims and does it reasonably well. The one thing I am not able to figure out is how to make it read out the caller's name when I receive a call. When a call is received, a notification isnt triggered I presume or am I missing something. I was expecting to be notified of the caller's name on receiving a call, when I bought the app.
It takes a little bit of time to customize what is read out per app, but its worth having that flexibility and it works great. Is there anyway to include reading the incoming calls?
Does everything but announce who is calling. Therefore only 2 stars. I'll check back and see if it gets updated. Uninstalling. UPDATE: Many Thanks for developer reply explaining that this does not announce calls. If anyone interested I have instead installed SmartAnnouncer which will verbally announce ANY messaging app or service you want. 100% Perfect!!
I like the custom per-app settings. Where's Android system? Please include a location-based on/off option. It's likely I mostly only want the app to read out loud when I'm at home.
A fantastic app that allows you to 'hear' your messages over the stereo in the car while driving. Fantastic support too, my voice settings changed and they suggested immediately what to do and it worked. Definitely worth the payment to use in multiple apps.
I would give 5 Stars if it didn't double read the text. I hear each text twice. How can I disable that feature? Thank you
I only wish it would not broadcast out loud when I am connected to my phone via Bluetooth. Don't need both, just Bluetooth. Highly configurable and great options. Just wish it did JUST Bluetooth
Doesn't work with either... Want a refund!
Loved this app, but since updating to marshmallow it does not work correctly.
Just got it seems fair it wait and see
Is reliable and efficient
But free version is almost unusable
Very nice. Perhaps the best. Well done. Excellent work..
Love how small the app is, and how handy it is.
Really works
Does just what it says. In the car Out Loud reads all my texts to me through my Bluetooth headset. Brilliant.
Works great on my Note 4 but when I switch to my S4 it reads "New message received " and nothing else. Ideas? Thanks in advance.
This app is great! Unfortunately, lately it's been turning itself off every few days or so. I have to keep opening the app and tapping the on/off button back to on.
I don't know if there's a better way to implement this task, but this app seems pretty wonky and buggy. Please include a location-based on/off option. It's likely I mostly only want the app to read out loud when I'm at home.
Works as advertised. Please show detailed instructions on integrating with tasker. Thanks.
A must have for any driver!
Works perfectly on my OnePlus One. I was looking for a way to have only certain notification content read through Bluetooth headphones while biking and this app is great.
Is reliable and efficient
Very nice. Perhaps the best. Well done. Excellent work..
Keeps re-reading aloud the same Hangouts message until I go read the message and clear the notification.
Perfect for in-helmet notifications
Works great
Would be golden to get higher voice volume. Now it's at 100% relative sound volume and still I have troubles hearing it over Spotify when headphones on.
This App is everything it promises to be and more, I've been looking for an App that reads Facebook messages and not only does it do that, but it reads EVERY Possible notification that you throw at it, a well spent $2 :)
Although, I'm having an issue where the app rereads the same notification repeatedly, the developer has been quick to respond and is looking into whether the issue is with the app or with another app on my phone.
App is ok, you want me to pay to get cooler stuff and also you're lacking some options like to say notification only under some specific phone configuration, for example on vibrate
Works great. Way better than DIY tasker solutions. Dev: Please add Tasker integration though so we can better control when it is on/off.
Excellent, i've been using other apps / tasker to read out notifications previously, this made it 100% easier
It was great, it still works but every message coming in through headset is spoken twice isn't that great great. By the way for having quite a few apps, why don't you have a webpage?
Good work

Works perfectly for reading back SMS and Hangouts messages. My only suggestion would be that it leverage Google's new remote text to speech API, as the other TTS voices on the play store are either excessively expensive or sound terrible. Developer responds promptly with bug fixes.
