New Mexico’s Highway 84 is a four-lane highway as you’re heading out of Espanola. It’s officially US Highway 84/285 until the point where Highway 285 turns to head east to the town of Ojo Caliente, then north to Colorado. At this juncture, US Highway 84 becomes two lanes heading northwest, following the Chama River to the town of Chama and then beyond to the state of Colorado.
