About Heritage Units
Track and report Heritage units (locomotives) and other special interest units for Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, CSX, BNSF and other railroads.
Features:
• View reported locomotives within a 200 mile radius of your devices location.
• Report a new locomotive location directly from the app
• View locomotives on google maps
• Setup android notifications to alert you when a newly reported locomotive has been recorded on the site.
All recorded locomotive information is provided by volunteers using native apps and website (https://www.heritageunits.com)

Explanation of why various permissions are needed:
• The "Location" permission is required so that the app can determine your location to find locomotives near you, assist during recording a new report and center the map on your position. The app first attempts to determine your location via the network, if that fails the app then tries to determine your location via GPS.
• The "Wi-Fi connection information" permission is needed so that the app can determine whether or not Wi-Fi is enabled and whether the app is currently using that connection.
• The "Device ID & call information" permission is needed by the app (but only if your device is running Android 2.x or higher). Encoded to store only a partial ID during reporting; it is used to validate a user's account has not be compromised

When I go to report a locomotive it says oops your account is currently suspended from reporting I don't know why it happened I created a new account when I first downloaded it but right there when I when I went to report a locomotive it said oops your account is currently suspended from reporting but otherwise its helpful

Made a report of the 844 sitting in omaha ne for college world series and they supspended my account for the address it was sitting at 12th & Cummings st. I have proof the train was there. I want a reund for the other 6 months.

Great app, but immediately shuts down after opening app, and says unfortunately Heritage Units has stopped.

I made an account so I can see where the heritage units are and if I see one I try to report it to the app but it tells me that my account was suspended and I've verified my email and everything. How can I fix this solution? Do I need to make a new account or what?

Now won't launch without creating an account. Can't get past login or create new account screen. Guess it's back to using the website. Uninstalled and reinstalled same issue. Can't get past login screen, can't go back. Have to kill app to exit.

The issue of the forced log-out is back. Every 24 hours or so I have to re-log back in. The app still works fine but this issue is getting a little annoying especially after I was told it was fixed.

This app let's me know when a hertige unit comes to town though I wish it told us where the unit is

Glad it is finally here! Thank you! Has familiar "mobile" page look and feel, loads fast. For premium members, I don't see more than one location alert possible yet, but I'm not complaining.

Might work fine for some but the map display shows Panama, not the USA. Google shows my location correctly, so I don't know where the problem is. Great site on my PC, on the tablet, not so much. I will keep trying it later on.

I got really mad when my account got suspended from reporting. Remove it and I will give 5 stars. Why do suspend me from reporting?
