HERE WeGo - Offline Maps & GPS for Android
I've used Here maps for several years now, on a Windows phone originally and now on a much faster Android phone. This app has been a blessing, regularly updated unlike my old satnav. Having tried several phone based route apps I always come back to this one. Easy to use, highly recommended.
Sometimes i want to know where something is without getting a map with directions drawn all over it. Entering an end AND start point for a journey i dont want to make (because i just want to look for something on a map) is a waste of my time. The app still can tell you where you are and how to get somewhere but looking for something on a map is inconvenient now. Time to uninstall if i can find something better.
I really like Here We Go and have used it a lot on ios. Downloaded it today on my new phone and it crashes constantly, I can't even get directions to anywhere without it closing itself.
I was using Google maps and WiFi but after being caught short in a remote location with no phone signal I went back to this for navigational peace of mind. The offline maps have always worked flawlessly on this app.
Superb app. If these moaners don't like a free app then go somewhere else. It detects cameras, speed, and works offline so no data charges. Wot more do you want for FREE. Honestly I have been looking for this for ages.
This app is really good. Especially if you don't have service or WiFi and you're lost. The only thing is that when the voice is giving directions, it tends to say them a little late and says things like "motorway" which I think is highway. Other than that, it's great!
It keeps crashing on my Sony Xperia XZ Premium, I can't even search for a destination, let alone navigate.... Used previously on Windows Phone with no issue, loved it, now useless..
Initial impression great. When searching offline some destinations not found so you have to switch online, which is not a problem, but there seems no switch in nav screen to turn offline again. EG seems you have to exit nav to switch offline? Some reviews suggest it wont re-route but it does. Missing features 1..zoom map on turns eg roundabouts etc 2..waypoints 3..Bus/taxi itinerary (in New Zealand).
It is OK, the possibility do download maps by countries, not rectangles that Google has, is handy. But sometimes the planned routes are just stupid. In my recent trip from a village A a human would cross a village B and would be on highway. Here pushed me to a village C, then to a city with dense traffic, then another village and then finally the highway. Just stupid and you are asking yourself in the city traffic jam "why?". Uninstalling, back to Google for now.
This app would be ok But for All the Anoying Adds that Pop Up in the Middle of the Driving Screen. Whos Bright Idea Was That???????? So for the Anoying Pop up Adds. It Sucks!!!!!
Offline maps for the entire world is a huge plus when traveling (and data is expensive) and it's when traveling you need maps so what other companies are thinking about i don't know =) guidance is also great and speed warnings perfect in Sweden =)
I would give it a negative 5 if I could. It will not work unless you give it permission to your location. Google maps and mapquest will work without this permission. I will NEVER use an app that won't work unless it turns on my location.
The best GPS app out there with great natural voice sounds. The ability to use it offline with downloadable maps makes sense to many users who don't want to use their data just to move from point A to B. Would love to see the option to enter data using voice commands.
only one problem i have with this app. when the map is offline waiting for GPS appear every 2 to 3 min. causing me to take wrong directions sometimes while driving. Hope to fix it soon.
Just like Garmin with Here maps it always takes you the longest and most congested route with more chance of delay. On this app even the alternate routes don't offer you the shortest and most logical route.
This app just are ~2GB of data in the background in only a few hours, and I wasn't updating or downloading any maps, did all that on WiFi. The app still won't allow you to choose alternate routes unless it's a fresh start or you restart the app.....
After every update it gets worse than before and during the use off the app it freez or stops and also the refreshing speed off the screen it gets slower than before after every update iff it continues like this very soon I will change to tomtom or sigyc and also they are many streets that on the map they appear like walking zone's and I can tell this because I make delivery's almoust every day and for the moment I refer to Dundee Uk but they are many streets in diferent towns that they appear like walking zone's.on sigyc and tomtom they are driveble.they are some very busy street on Dundee (uk)that they appear like non pass trough for cars
Out dated HERE map (Roads and also location) in india. waste app don't use this. It trouble you in journey's such that stores, offices, roads showing in the map is not present in ground. Try other apps.
Great app, does pretty much everything you need for navigation, except for itineraries (apparently it does POIs too, haven't found the option yet). Works great with the Gear S3 smartwatch, although I would love to have a map/overview screen on the watch app.
Very good app. I really appreciate being able to navigate other countries without having to shell out more bucks to the GPS companies. Also offline navigation and being able to download maps state by state.
Awesome. Public transport and commute alerts are updated plus speed limit and speed camera and sound alert are active and visible on the dash board. Good zoom on intersections and clear route visibility. I wish i could personalise the cursor haha.
Had this on my old Nokia n8. Think it's better than Google sat navigation as it uses no data and tells you your speed and the speed limit .
Would be even better if we can get the ability to install the app on external SD card. My 8GB internal storage is not enough
Best app for offline use. Would like if there is any car app like android auto compatible with any music player and this app, inbuilt navigation of here maps. Please develop Car dashboard app too @here apps llc
Good for offline navigation, but lakes in lot of information. I am in Kharkov, Ukraine and i searched for peremoha metro station even thought this metro station established a year ago but still this is missing on here maps.
Looks great but turning "Traffic" on does NOTHING.... Rendering it Useless to me. UNINSTALLED
If this is the same Here app that I had before on my Word Cellphone, which was the sorriest cellphone I've ever had, it should work even better now with my android phone.
Please update Qatar traffic. Round abts changed to signals... But still in ur map its Round abts please change
Awesome App.. Works all around Europe and Australia even on my flight and on the water. Love this nav its so handy and convenient! I recommend this app to everyone. Samsung galaxy s7
Crash crash crash on my MI6 every time I open the app. Can't sign in, can't do nothing.
More often than not takes you to the wrong place, asks you to turn at the veru last moment, map is outdated and map updates fail every single time. Useless app.
Gives accurate directions and the voice is loud and clear enough to be understood easily. I especially appreciate that this app can be used offline.
Still the same. Keeps crashing after latest update on Xperia XZ Premium
Been using for years, now all of a sudden it looses GPS, and all my collections are gone!! This used to be the best app on the market.
Happy to get the wonderful OVI maps features back in Android. The offline navigation works like a charm. Have been using it in the UK for sometme now. There are some minor issues, like the wrong exit numbers for round abouts and not-so-uptodate restaurant list. The exit from round abouts can be handled by looking at the map and following the voice navigation
Reduce the space taken by the road names and new things turn notification and include more space for the actual map and navigation area. I am sure that no one is so blind to need so big fonts and wasted space for the road name and next turn notification. I have switched to waze for their simply beautiful well spaced map and notations area space ratio. Do the same just don't do updates for bug fixes forever
Offline routing doesn't work. When I have my device offline, and the app set to work only offline, if I choose a destination, it always says that a route could not be found while offline. Can only get a route if I am connected to the internet. Maps are downloaded. Hey HERE, get some of your Burnaby employees to try it!
I used to really like this app and was my prefered navigation device. However, since upgrading, I can't even get the app to open for more than a few seconds before it closes itself. If this is ever fixed, i'll use again and recommend it to all that will listen to me.
I've been a fan of Here Maps since first using it on Windows Phone. This version works okay at best. I do wish adding favorites was a little simpler and the map graphics look like they came out of 2003. The routing needs to be clearer and there should be rerouting options when there's traffic, the ETA is too conservative, and occasionally it takes me ways that make no sense at all. And now it seems to be losing the GPS signal way too often. Please put some work into this. It has too much potential.

Extremely untrustful. Has a mind of it own. Sometimes launches with Internet. Sometimes freezes. Can't sync with collections from pc. Names are changed and no description is available. And the worst thing is when those points do sync it is impossible to share them offline.
