Color ID for Android
Thanks, it helped me a lot as web developer with partial color blindness
Reversed image view makes this app too frustrating to use.
Very useful app.
I'm partially blind this app helps me alot but I wish there's a voice to tell me the colour
Says yellow is pink and there is no black color it says black is purple
- Novel more than useful. Too lighting dependant to yield accurate color replication.
Being colour blind, this app helps me to tell the difference between colours...
I don't have any color vision, this was not for me. If I hold my phone over a T-shirt in the department store, I want it to respond in preschool colors ... Windows default ... I use the other "Color ID," it tells me green, blue, red, black, yellow, and sometimes greenish-blue, which I can understand. This one gave me "salmon." Salmon is a fish, not a color.
I'm colorblind and frequently need to identify wires by color. Two features would make this app work great for me: 1) identify the closest "simple" color (like from the Crayola '8' box, not the 64!). "Lonely Watermelon" et al don't work for my purposes. 2) Allow me to use a white object to set white balance so the read is more accurate. If this app worked reliably for this I would happily pay real money for it.
Similar most of the comments here, an option that will id to the nearest primary color wil be great. Another suggestion is to put a bit of lag time in the detection process, making it slow in churning out the colors so it's not too sensitive to the small movements when ur trying to focus on the object :-)
So I'm giving this a 5--author says it's first release & I think this has tremendous potential. Can't wait to see future updates!
Loved this app on my last phone (Samsung Fascinate), but apparently it does not support my new Droid 3. Rats!
Cool, but it needs some kind of "hold" function. Also fixing the shutter time might aid inselecting very bright or very dark colors.
Needs an option to limit color types! Some times I just want know if something is light brow or dark gray and not all thoes made up color names
Does the job without a fuss. Would help if a 1 second lag can be set. Also increase the font size of the color name. Then I'll give it 5 stars.
Doesn't focus which makes it difficult to pin point very small/specific colours, other than that it works well - screen timeout though needs a fix BTW
Like the initial release, hope there's an update soon. Here's my wishlist: - ability to "lock" on a color - ability to display the RGB value of the color - would like menu option to exit the app - change the color naming and put the "primary" color and then maybe a hyphen after it with the detailed color ... I mean what's Byzantium without looking it up (it's a shade of violet)
Took off one star for not being able to lock in a color. Otherwise amazingly great.
Its ready stupid and has no use. It rarly gets the right color of anything.
Absolutely fantastic whether used for fun or serious identification of colours. What else will updates possibly bring? Can't Wait!
Need a way to stop the continous colour search. Or make it so it only updates with a couple of seconds interval. Four stars for most accurate colour.
I use this every day! Please update it so that it takes the average of a few pixels for more accurate color. And the color names aren't intuitive enough... Find a better naming scheme! Thank you for this app
Doesn't work on Moto Razr
great.speech synthesis ?
best free one i found
Would be nice to be able to pause to read colour and rgb value.
Galaxy note ICS 4.0.4
... just not as good as Color ID by Greengar, imprecise and with no user interface at all!
The screen spazzed out the whole time and spit back random colors.

This app will be a lifesaver for this red-green colorblind user, but: 1) color names spin by so fast I can't make them out, 2) the colors are too nuanced for my need - I'm just trying to figure out if the tie is green or tan, 3) a cross hair and capture button would help usability, 4) option to turn on flash would help in odd lighting situations, and 5) an option to provide this feedback directly to the author from within the app would be nice.
