踩街活動的起源，難以追朔至正確的時期，踩街活動的產生乃是因為在節慶中，人們對於快樂情感所表達出最直接、最真實的反應，可能是唱歌也可能是跳舞，恆古以來都是如此，這次我們要找回人們情感中最原始的那種快樂。 在科技發展快速的時代，傳統文化逐漸被遺忘的過程中，一群日本的大學生試圖將傳統文化重新定義為一件很潮的事情，並打造出現階段最具有指標性的踩街活動。起源於1954年的日本街舞活動YOSAKOI，是高知縣在盂蘭盆節（8月中旬）時舉辦的夜來祭開始發展，起初在人們對於傳統文化已經感到陌生時，這樣的活動吸引不了太多人來參與。然而一次次的舉辦，逐漸觸及到當地居民對於快樂的一種嚮往及崇拜，吸引了愈來愈多的團體加入這場踩街活動，為了讓自己與他人都能因此而感到快樂，認真負責的排演每一場的演出，把快樂傳遞給他人當成一種使命感，並且打造屬於自己的榮譽感！ Origin trample activities, it is difficult traced back to the correct time, produce trample activities but because the festival, people for happiness emotion expressed by the most direct and real reaction, may also be dancing singing, constant since ancient is the case, this time we get back to the most primitive emotions of people happy kind.
