3d model viewer for cardboard for Android
nice app but i have problem with mirroring the project... if you fix it i can to 5*
great app! I use it to quickly visualize an interior design of a House, modeled in Sweet Home 3d. By generating a google cardboard-QR-code, the App can be adjusted to the used hardware, which makes this app just perfect
I couldnt move anywhere and I would just stay in the menu because if I tried looking it wouldn't move around
It displays a mirrored image of my models and has many rendering bugs. Will wait for updates.
Took a bit to figure out but once I did It works very well. I will certainly enjoy this.
Simple but works. It could have compatibility with joystick. Just to walk at least.
As a free app works pretty nice!
I used this to examine a 3D object I created of a protein model bound to a chemical. I'm really pleased with the results. After trying all the menu options, my only complaint is the on- screen "walk" icon in first-person mode, which gets triggered as I'm examining the model. I wish I could turn that off and only use the cardboard button (screen tap) to start and stop walking. Samsung Galaxy S7 with "I am cardboard" viewer.
Works pretty well on my Galaxy S3. Only major gripe is that there's no way to adjust the lighting (in particular, there needs to be a way to display everything unlit with full brightness). Files take a tad too long to load, but I'm on an S3. Great app.
Looks great but crashes when I load .obj & .mtl files. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S6. Please fix soon as this app would be awesome if it worked. Thanks for all the hard work :-)

Cancer
Only good cardboard model viewer, however, it does not show the supplied textures, it instead prefers to use the skybox texture as the model texture. Rotation would also be nice.

Fun app and my children enjoyed it. Will it be made available on the windows app store or operating system?
It worked as expected and I got answered fast when mailed you. By the way, is there any way to configure the app for specific glasses? (distance to screen, ...)
Can't beat this for free. Would love to have it support the cardboard viewer button. The current walk mode is hard to stop precisely where you need it. And the walk icon often gets projected out of view on the other-side of a wall.
Can't seem to get it on the S6 as mentioned by author. Wish it worked because it's exactly what I need.

Sweethome models are flipped... (right becomes left). Can you add an option to fix this? The fix is - change sign the first coordinate of all vertices and vertex normals - reverse the order of vertices in faces
Nice work! The only problem I noticed is that my model created with sweethome 3d has the x axis reversed; Everything is mirrored.
Worked ok but drifts to the left a lot on htc one m8, maybe needs a calibration setting?
Works, except that I can't load custom models. None of the models mentioned in the description works if I extract and put them in subfolders in /sdcard/3Dmodels. The app shows empty directory. I created /storage/emulated/0 (in device root, not in sdcard), and some built-in models appeared and worked, but custom models didn't appear. And after a reboot, creating /storage/emulated/0 no longer works. I'm on Android 5.1.1, the phone doesn't have an internal sdcard, only an external micro SD. File picker needed.
Documentation is lacking. It's hard to tell if is working. The problem might be with my phone, or it might be the app. Looks like it has potential.
Doesn't work
As with most cardboard apps, it needs options to set specific handset screen fov as well as options for your specific head mounted display such as barrel distortion, FOV etc. Would be great if this used the Cardboard SDK to accommodate for specific display variables. Frames per second is good, running most 3D objects at 140fps on a Note4. Would also be nice to have the option to change the background image.
Love this app. Does exactly what I wanted it to do. Really impressed with what this developer has done.
Latest update (v 4.5) is slower and struggles to playback even the simplest models (ie: the TIE Fighter). With the previous version I was able to load models that were over 60MB, and now I can't load models that are 6MB. Please fix, as this is a great and simple model viewer.
Excellent work
Excellent and simple alternative for good 3d viewing!
Love apps like this that let me experiment. Keep up the great work!

i uploaded models up to 100 MB to it and it is a quite promising tool. But it needs some improvements (unfortunately, it appears that development has stopped). major: 1) for some reasons all objects are flipped / mirrored. seems like it would be an easy axis flip fix. 2) the maximum viewing distance is approx 20-25 ft. if your model is larger than this, you will find that rendering only happens as you get closer (like those first 1990s first-person perspective 3D video games where as you walk closer new things appear out of nowhere). if this is a hardware limitation, then maybe allowing lower quality textures for higher viewing depth as an option would be great. minor: 3) lighting: there are no options to modify the lighting settings. in my models things look a bit grey instead of white. if those items were fixed, i would give it 5 stars + recommend to make it a paid app.
