All it does is buffer and buffer and almost never load. Plays for five minutes then buffers again. And I have unlimited data. Boyfriend pays monthly for something we cant use just in hopes we can one day watch a full hbo now episode of Game of thrones without the sad buffering.

It's not terrible. But it seems like if I'm paying for an app, I should have more choices of prgrams and movies. I'm just a week or more, I've already watched everything that interests me on the app. Boo. The last bit was first review. Now this is a new entry. I wac watching "The DEFIANT Ones", and about two minutes into streaming, it froze, made a super high pitched garbled squelch, and blew out my Bluetooth speaker. Don't bother downloading this unfinished pile of poop.

The apps keel popping up an error occured and if I click 3 times it will say I have used up maximum 3 times devices available! But I am only using my phone!! I am definitely getting a refund amd unsubscribe since it does not even work at all !

Paid 15 bucks and can't play a dang thing. "An error has occurred" every single time, and after that so many times I get the too many devices issue and I'm only using my phone. I will be demanding a refund if this issue is not fixed in a couple days. Flat out ridiculous.

Awful app in comparison with Netflix. Its resume option is useless. if you stop an episode at 80% and start another episode the new episodes start at 80%. It has lots of bugs and just promote new shows instead of making the show that you watch easy to access.

The app works as it should EXCEPT you can not watch on slow wi-fi. The show stops (presumably to buffer) then starts skipping seconds to minutes ahead while making this horrible squeaking noise. Pausing and resuming does not fix the issue and it seems to just be luck that determines if the show will wver resume playing normally.

This is one of the worst apps I have ever used. Everytime I try to stream a show it doesn't work and gives me an error message or says there are to many devices ... and for $15 a month, why can't I stream on multiple devices?? Trust me that I won't be paying after my free month runs out.

I just downloaded the app so I can watch new GoT but it keeps telling me that I have exceeded the number of devices allowed to use the account and that I need to close one device in order to watch. The only device that has access to my account is my tablet. this is impossible and cannot seem to fix itself. I guess I will have to cancel my subscription as I cannot even watch anything.

Have had it about 10 minutes and it froze twice. I have other movie and series apps and they work fine. I checked the other reviews and others were having the same issue. Tried to fix it according to the answer given to someone else but that was useless.

I hate it. I set up an account and immediately after I signed in it wouldn't let me watch anything. It kept saying I was streaming to much but I had only set the account up 10 minutes prior. It says a ways of my time and a waste because now I'll be losing out on the free 1 month.

Between the screen freezes and constant loading I can't watch anything. The best part is when I load a show, it loads, video and audio freeze, but the time counter keeps running. Watched a frozen screen for 45 seconds of a movie before I gave up. Seriously watched the time counter run off 45 seconds while looking at no audio/video. You guys have until the first month comes out. I will be demanding a refund.

Glad I got a free trial so I could see just how shoddy this service is. Streaming shows on the Playstation 4 with high speed cable Internet and it's still always buffering or giving playback errors. Don't have this issue with netflix. Junk. Not worth the money.

"Unknown error, please try again" is not a good example of the content I pay for but that's all the content I'm able to access at the moment. Very frustrating. The app is frustrating at the best of times but being completely unable to function is a new low. I pay for the content HBO has. If I were paying for the app, I'd ask for a refund.

Ridiculous, pain in the butt! Hasn't been fixed in over a year. When are you going to fix the app so it doesn't freeze constantly? It doesn't matter what time of day I try it, it's a frustrating mess!

Only got this since it was a free trial and to watch the new season of Game of Thrones. All day I keep getting an error when trying to load episode 1. I don't think I'll make it past this month if this keeps happening.

Audio quality streaming to Chromecast is terrible. It's only in stereo for some reason, no DD+ like almost every other streaming service, and it's bad quality compressed stereo. Not what you'd expect from the "Home Box Office", with high budget theatrical shows and new hit movies.

I've been trying to watch GoT for the past several days and can not get it to work AT ALL on my phone and on the XBOX I get to the TV M.A. screen and then an indefinite black screen on all shows. Glad I've yet to pay. If this isn't fixed soon I'm definitely cancelling and will have to find another means to watch.

Terrible compared to other streaming apps. It's basically a crapshoot whether a video will load at all, and if it does it can take a minute or more. Not exaggerating. Everything in the app is slow to load as well not just the actual video.

App needs work. I can't get through one episode of game of thrones without it pausing 50 times. I have been watching Hulu on the same internet connection with no problem. I will be getting rid of HBO now the second I watch the last episode of game of thrones and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

It's pretty bad. It'll freeze but keep counting down like it's playing. Never rebuffs. Have to close the app and open it again, but it happens so much it's not worth the time you waste. Not worth 14.99 at all.

Decent app, but horribly incompatible with Google Cast. I thought it may have been an issue with my Chromecast, but all of my other apps work with Chromecast currently. This app has only worked with Chromecast once out of roughly 10 tries. Not many people watch shows on their phone anymore; they get the app so they can cast it to their TV. This is a huge misstep, allowing this functionality to slip through the cracks.

I would probably change the rating on this app to 4 or 5 stars but trying to watch shows or movies on it and it buffers and skips scenes every 15 sec. Which is really upsetting me especially seeing as they wanna charge $14.00 for using the app. Which don't get me wrong I would be fine with paying that for just the ability to watch game of thrones alone would make it worth it to me if it would just stream it with out buffering and skipping scenes every 15 sec. I mean I use Netflix and stream stuff all day long with no real problems once so ever and it cost less then HBO now does and it works properly. So in all if you would like me to continue using your app please fix these problems. And in return I will change my review to five stars and give you a better rating. Thank you!

Have it on my Xbox one and mobile. I get to watch about 30 seconds before "video issues" pops up and kicks me out. I feel like any streaming service you pay for should work. Please fix, I love hbo!

Does not work on my Amazon Fire Stick. The app opens and I can see all the movies and shows, but once I try to play a title it just shows a black screen and indicates that its loading, but does not play. I tried Force Stop and restarting, I tried unplugging the Fire Stick, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I tried deleting data and cache. I tried everything. I have to stream from my computer, and it works fine that way. But does not work on my Fire Stick.

Constantly freezes and buffers every five seconds. It does that no matter what show or movie I watch..super annoying. Uninstalling and ending my free trail this week ugh

I have been trying for days now to watch just one movie. Last night game of thrones came on and poof no problems whatsoever ever. No streaming problems. But, i didn't get to watch the while thing. I figure maybe tomorrow i will finish it, yeah no. Same problem now, it will not stream. I will not keep this app if i cant use it when i want to. I have done all the trouble shooting, nothing seems to work. So my question is why did it work last night perfectly? Not one glitch or freeze frame but today it will not stream at all. What is going on?

It's always hit and miss with this app. Half the time the audio is out of sync or the video buffers. I expected better from HBO, especially with how much it costs monthly.

Can you at least give an error code readout when I can't play anything? It just says "unknown error" whenever I try to play anything. Why is there no error code?

This is a decent app for watching HBO series. One of the flaws, however, is that it doesn't allow you to favorite/add a series to your queue, only individual episodes, and the "continue watching" tab frequently did not list the series I was in the middle of watching, when I reopened the app. I had to do a search for the show I was previously watching most times I reopened the app.

Horrible. Just started my free trial, the first show I watched froze 5x in 1 hour. I have free unlimited data on my phone. Nothing is wrong with my phone. I couldve watched S4E6 of GoT on Showbox for free.

It won't even let me watch anything. I logged in, paid for it and it said I have too many devices attempting to watch..... I literally only have the device I attempted to watch with. Total piece of garbage. Hope HBO sees this review then has a mass suicide kool-aid party. You're all useless.

I comcast cable packages for so much money. I no longer have a cable at house. I only have Internet from Comcast for $29 month. I love HBO APP easy to use. I actually Like HBO more than Netflix.

Clean app for the most part, but could use some refinement and additions which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. It could allow for more filtering options in roving for movies/series. Some of the lists are so long you can get lost in it and end up nowhere. Plus, just the fficiency of narrowing down searches would be nice. Also, the ability to create playlists (especially with series') would be nice. That way when something ends it can just roll right into the next show/movie on the list.

Rocky start. Login would not work on all devices without a call to tech support. When I try to watch movies on my phone I get a "no Internet" error despite having wifi and data. I would like to see better interface between my phone and my PS4, currently there is none. Navigation through available titles is clunky. Hbo content is above average. The woman at tech support was as helpful as she could be, as well as being very polite.

Bad Streaming Quality. I tried to watch the GOT Season 7 premier yesterday. It was streaming at less than 720p. The service doesn't even let you change the quality. It says it will choose it for you based on your internet. Well it did not. I have Hulu and Netflix and am able to stream to multiple devices at 1080p at the same time. I have the highest internet service Xfinity offers. So no... It is not my internet. Had to watch the premier in horrible quality. No other devices were streaming or connected to my network. What a disappointment. I will not be keeping this service past my free trial.

Ok so i have had This problem since Ive had HBO now and the problem is it will play and will freeze but you can still hear the audio. Please fix this or I will cancel my subscription......and I probably will because you won't even reply to this review....just like the last review I put on here like 4 months ago about the same problem.
