Hatch Baby - Activity Tracker for Android
I like most of the functionality of this app, IF I remember to use it. Make me use it more! Let me set notifications if after X hours and X minutes, I haven't logged a feed, diaper, weight (maybe in days) then notify me! Let me setup the time. You already have the toggles, but the toggles, they do nothing! Also, why do the charts on iOS and Android look different? This is one of those instances I would like them to be the same. iOS doesn't make you set a time for bottle feeds, and 1 minute doesn't show up in the chart. iOS has icons to show bottles and sleep so why doesn't Android?
Used to be good but the dashboard doesn't properly refresh with the latest update so I have to keep closing and reopening it to see accurate times. Very frustrating.
Love the way it connects with the Hatch Grow scale and tracks the weight. Saved us a trip to the pediatrician in the midst of RSV and flu season.
Overall, this is a fantastic app! It helps me to remember any late night feedings and whether my 'feed on-demand' child is developing any patterns. The stats feature is a great page to review and support doctor visits. Only thing I don't like is the need for GPS to be on in order to weigh the baby. I've only had one issue with this app and it's forgotten my baby's weight prior to feeding so it only resulted in a .25 oz feeding. This issue happened twice. Features it could have would be to be able to record head circumference, widgets to quickly add or start recording feedings, and also if the baby's growth data is exportable in a more memory book presentable format that would be great keepsake. *UPDATE* the app crashes at times when I try to connect to the scale and if my screen goes to sleep then the app crashes or erases my weight data. :( *UPDATE 2* if I start the sleep timer in the PM and baby sleeps until the AM. The result is that the sleep hours count towards the day before instead of accounting PM hours to day 1 and the hours slept through the AM on day 2. So I have a day where the day's total sleep is 7 hrs when he really slept 12 total hrs.
Works as well as any other app, installed it to sync between two phones and an Amazon Alexa, but multiple users see no updates and Alexa skill doesn't sync either. Inconvenient and entirely annoying to have to share one phone to do all the data input. Maybe have a sync button or indicator... Basically this feature is broken and this app should not claim multiple user support. Many others have said the same.
App that makes routines tracking fun and easy...
awesome tracker, thanks!
Love the scale and app. It has been fairly accurate so far compared to the doctors office scale. We did a few test feeds with 6 oz bottles and have gotten 5.75-6.0 oz when doing it. All in all pretty spot on! Baby really needs to be still for weight... kinda hard to do with a 10 month old, but not impossible. App crashing loop was solved by uninstalling and re-installing. The app remembered my scale data so I didn't have to do setup again! Online support has been super fast. Suggestions: change percentile reading, it currently reads "51th percentile" or "42th percentile" which only works with trailing digits of 0 and 4-9. Have feedings be input with start and stop time rather than spinner.
Bought the scale, installed this app, go to login with my email address and it logs in and immediately says "Oops! You don't have a baby associated with this account" with a screen to fill out this information.... For about 3 seconds. Then it crashes and starts all over again at the login screen. So annoying! Needless to say, I haven't been able to set up the scale or this app. Tried uninstalling, re-installing, you name it.
This is a great app, it's very convenient as a new mom to be able to track everything in an app since it's hard to remember with the lack of sleep. A couple notes for improvement: - As others have said, it would be nice to be able to input times instead of using the drop-down which only goes up to 59 minutes. - Add the head circumference measurement. - The photo a day is a neat idea, but I had issues with the automatic cropping, and it would be more helpful if you could then export the photos to do anything with them besides look in the app (maybe make an album or something). - When the timer is paused and later resumed, track the individual timestamps and not just the overall time.
Has minor bugs. Missing other necessary tracking, like bath time. Could use reminders for feedings and weighing.
Overall great app to keep track of feeding. Some issues synching between iphone and Android and no ability to adjust image uploaded from gallery.
Previously was working great but now when multiple users are involved neither can see what the other adds. Removed app, restarted, nothing has worked.
I do not know why you need to access my location to pair with my scale. Denied permission and now stuck in an endless loop with no ability to pair.
This has been great for my husband and I to track our baby's various schedules. We use this consistently and definitely would recommend to other parents!
This app is easy to use and allows me to share info with others. It's everything you need to help track feedings and diapers!
Everything's great, except sometimes it doesn't save the daily picture that you add. Otherwise, love it!
Really love being able to track everything my baby does for the pediatrician.
Perfect to show your pediatrician when they ask for their progress
Great App. Even better customer service
Good app. Keep the improvements coming.
Ui needs work
Need to be able to type in minutes of feeding and not use the annoying spinner. Often feedings go over 59 minutes and the spinner maxes at 59 minutes. The diaper type dialog has the OK button on the left while all other dialogs have the buttons on the right. This makes the app harder and slower to use. Grey text on new teal background is too hard to read, worst on time picker.
All my son's doctors and other care professionals are SO impressed when I know so much detail about his intake/output and sleep patterns! LOVE HATCH BABY! Thank you for fixing my issue! Is there perhaps a "Hatch Toddler" app in the works to add tracking intro of solid foods & potty training data? Just a thought!
I have used this daily since my son was born and it has been wonderful for helping my partner and I keep track of everything and maintain a schedule in spite of exhaustion or sickness. I have recommended it to every single one of my friends with babies or who are newly pregnant.
Great app, extremely easy to use and it allows you to track diaper changes, feeding times and weight gain and so much more. Also gives detailed info you can usually only get from the doctors office. 1 star loss for a glitch but was fixed quickly with customer service. A few improvents can be made to add that star. Not trying to knock them but improvements can always be made. I also really like the daily picture feature.
Updated review 3/2: I updated the app to the latest version and now it doesn't note which side I last nursed on. This was one of the most useful features because I can never remember which side was last! Please bring back that feature!
Please allow for the image to be centered. No matter how I take the picture, it always cuts a part of the face of our baby. Please, improve that; its an awesome idea. Otherwise, my wife and I love the fact we both can get updates on our phones. We'll done!
This app was great prior to the most recent update. My wife liked that it helped her keep track of which side she had last nursed on, and that capability, despite the fact that it is the most useful feature is now nowhere to be found. Please restore this option.
Not the best interface, difficult with twins.
I use this app constantly and I find it extremely useful with keeping track of my newborns habits. However, there are a couple of issues. 1) can't always get a centered picture for the slideshow & it would be helpful if the picture a day function allowed us to adjust size & not only be allocated to a small circle. 2)a timer for feedings. At night, I have to set an alarm so baby doesn't sleep through a feeding. It's hard enough to juggle a sleeping baby and my phone, it'd be helpful if it was all on one app
This is a great, easy to use app for tracking my baby's activity. Timer is easy to start, stop, pause and love the feature to add other caregivers to the same account. Also love the tips and photo feature. Just wish I could move the photo around so that I can center it on my baby's face.
Hatch baby works great! Very happy. One thing to nitpick with the latest release though -- "duration" is now a required field for the feeding schedule, even if duration isn't one of the metrics we're interested in tracking. As a result I just select a random number each time. Easy enough, but more bug than feature.
The sleep "ago" now seems to (wrongly) use the feeding tracking logic, reflecting the time since the start time of the last sleep instead of the end time (the awake time period is what I care about, not the time since the last "put down"). Also, the Hatch handbook and poll questions are too prominent as mentioned by other reviewers.
Please give us an option to remove the Hatch Handbook. It is an eyesore that provides no useful information. The larger, non-circular photo-of-the-day is very nice, though.
This new version improves on the photo of the day, but it adds an annoying new "feature." The Hatch handbook is useless, opened by default, in the way, and not able to be removed. *Edit: The Hatch handbook can only be temporarily hidden. As soon as you leave the page and come back or refresh, it's expanded again. The polls make it take most of the page. Furthermore, the "tips" are common sense at best and asinine at best like today's "tip:" Have a nice day. You should allow it to be moved at least.
I do not like that it forces me to now put a duration on his bottle feeds. I mostly BF, and prior to the update was using time to record nursing & amount to record formula feeds. Now it'll all be mixed up
I love it!! The only problem is the waight is a little off; other than that this product is amazing!
This app is awesome and had helped me keep better track. The only thing it could use is a setting where we can edit the end time.

App is easy to use and has a nice layout. It's really nice to be able to view graphs of all the results and see feedings and weight over time. My only complaint (and it doesn't really matter) is that the slideshow feature doesn't work for me. However that has nothing to do with the scale and why I'm using the app so like I said, minor complaint.
