Harry's LapTimer Petrolhead for Android
I really had high hopes for this app. I took it out to the streets of Willow last weekend. In both recording sessions the overlay data is totally wrong in fact when I first started using the app I'm sitting still pulling 50 mph and 1G . it seems to me this app was an overly ambitious project for one guy. I hope that the issues can be fixed and I hope that there's better videos on how to set this thing up and get it working. For example, one wrong finger swipe and one of my sessions was deleted. No warning, nothing. in addition the interface is totally unintuitive. I think overall the app needs a complete overhaul to make it simpler as the app seems to have evolved into something totally different from which is was intended and the GUI is not designed for what it is today.
Great app, have used it several times on many different tracks and it works really well. The only thing I dislike is that there is no option for an account to keep all of your laps safe, I've had instances where I've broken my phone and haven't been able to backup the laps, resulting in a total loss of all previous laps. It would be great if you had an option to create an account with auto backup of the laps.
App shutdown 30 seconds into use at the track. Overlay on both GoPro and phone cameras was non-existent. Currently in the process of attempting to obtain a refund.
Great for track days. I use g force data to find where I could be faster.
Excellent data tool for the track rat. Syncs with 10hz BT GPS well.
The best for my track days with GoPro.
Great app, awesome developer! Harry's is a highly accurate tool for recording lap times, analysing data or just making really cool videos overlayed with on board telemetry. While setup at first appears complex, it's actually quite easy to get started using the in-app guide or online tutorials. I've even created, submitted and had approved a certified track set for my local motorsports complex. However, what sets Harry's LapTimer apart is the responsiveness and helpfullness of the developer. Kudos to Harry!
The lap analysis features are better in other race apps. I m looking for an app that can provide velocity and map position overlayed on a map and to be able to compare laps. This app supports very little of what I need at the moment. However, video overlay works really well now after the new update.
Takes a little bit of reading to figure everything out but well worth the effort. Absolutely love this app - hands free lap timing, lots of analytics, connects easily and consistently to my ODB2 device via Bluetooth. Visit the site first and learn lots in order to get the most out of it - you'll be glad you did. Excellent.
Have used Harry's GP at a few tracks in Florida and Georgia. It works seamlessly and I have even interfaced with Vbox to take advantage of the 20hz gps. However, it's not necessary. Excellent support. Harry has responded to my dumb questions within hours!
Clunky, unintuitive and impossible to get the inputs properly synched. It maybe is ok if works properly out of the box, otherwise a horrible experience. The config screens are anyone's nightmare. You have heaps of little icons everywhere, colour coded laps but without any explanation on what all that means. And why do I have to click agree every time it starts??? Oh and it is way too expensive for the badly designed program it is. I have wsted hours upon hours navigating the horrible interface ...avoid!
The video overlay with odb info is what I wanted. I used a recommended odb device, but it was wildly inaccurate and very hard to configure and use. Huge waste of time and $, but the lap timer is nice.
The maim reason I went with this version of the app was because they promise of easy overlay with internal and external videos. Unfortunately hardware encoding is not supported with my phone, a OnePlus 3. Instead I'm being forced to do software encoding and it takes more than 4hrs for a 20 min video. It also doesn't support the raw video size from my AS200V Action Cam. Then I need to convert it and compress it, decreasing quality. If it weren't for this I would give it 5 stars.
Way too complicated. WTF with video???? Not user friendly or intuitive. $20 and lost memories down the drain for track day today. Ridiculous. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ANDROID USERS.
Best track day app available. Easy to use, fantastic data overlays, and feature/options rich. And on top of being a great app, Harry's support is second to none. Fast responses.

Accurate lap times, it helps you analyze cornering speed. Thus, being a faster driver in the track
A great addition would be some kind of DragRace mode, 201m, 402m.

had a bad day at AMP with this. didn't start properly when crossing finish line. didn't want to film and do data. it needs nashville superspeedway road course on it - they're opening up again.
Love it.
The latest edition and updates have solved all of my issues! No longer frustrated in Seattle, using Android. Thanks, Harry I'm glad I stuck with it. I used it at the track this weekend and it was perfect
This app is so much better than anything else out there and produces results a lot better than much more expensive solutions, definitely worth every penny!
Very useful, well conceived, very well supported.
Initiated the timer with video recording, once I saw that it was recording I set aside. After track session I open the app to find it frozen with "camera recording. " I do not believe the features this app provides are to the level that warrants the cost. I'm running a Samsung Galaxy S7.
This is my third year using it. I love it. Wish it was as android friendly as it is Apple friendly, but works fine.
I've read and reread it. Paid $20 for an app that is useless. So disappointed. Save the money by buying something that works. I've warned you.
Everything else is good.
Absolutely amazing track day app. Preload tracks and it does everything else even overlaying GPS data on video. Systems costing hundreds of dollars more don't even compare...
One thing i would recommend is the ability to add another phone or gopro like the ios version for android.
Every time I go to the track, I have an issue. Last time it wouldn't function because no connection to download POI, this time it recorded video and data but won't overlay. It said it's processing video but goes back to the opening screen. Frustrated in Seattle, using Android.
I've used HLT for a pair of track days and for numerous autocross events. It gives a lot of feedback that can be used to improve your driving.
Great app for when you do trackdays!
This is an awesome program and developer supports it 100%
Useful
Why remove functions available only if upgrading for an additional cost? Really not OK! In previous versions the overlay data had engine power included, now I have to upgrade to get the same feature...
Still working with the developer to deal with stage rally usage work arounds. Awsome to deal with on several occasions
Best you can get for track days
Meh!

Just one question..when I get a clip overlaid with export function why do the frame rate drops dramatically? Is there any way to get better quality overlaid vdo that I can upload?
