Harcourt Traverse & Surveying for Android
Very useful. I bought this for the traverse calculator, everything else is a bonus!
Apps FC when screen rotation changed from portrait to landscape.
Excellent functionality and productivity for price.
This is a great app. Has many of the computational features that Surveyors use frequently. If I'm searching for monuments from a known point, i can create a traverse and calc coordinates for points that i can stake out with my total station or GPS. Triangle solver is great as long as you know at least 3 parts to it. I only wish it had a vertical curve solver since i check centerline profiles on civil design plans. But other than that, this app has a slew of other handy features. Great job to the developer
Import doesn't work very well. Browse button searches your entire drive and never finds the files. No way for you to browse files yourself. If I new where it was looking I would put the files in there. Putting them in the root it finally found them after 15 minutes of searching. Imports all lines as same color. Same with points. No quadrant bearings. State Plane calculator only good in Australia. It's been over a year with no updates so I'm guessing - no more updates.
Love using this app in the field for traverse and plan calcs. I'm glad someone finally has written a decent program that works on my phone so I don't need a calculator in the field anymore. A few wish list items; copy and paste or swap fields (I.e. in the add/subtract utility) and a tool integrated with the GPS to stake out map coordinates (to find survey control marks).
it cannot find my files therefore slightly useless.. why cant I just browse for it?
Every time I try to import a file the app crashes
Could really use an inverse function though then it would be perfect.
Excellent functionality and productivity for price.
Curves and levels book would be perfect.
Needs seconds to 2 decimal places
Interesting but was looking for an app with Google Earth image
Can made much advance import function that import much wider format.use point number and can add multiple line format as lot border.
Brilliant app. Saves having to open a laptop to access your data, and is as important as your data-collector in engineering surveying.
IamLandSurveyor, ilike this app that improve, morepower in create, edit and result, thank u vryMuch.
What unit using in distance and area?
Glad I have this app. I've found it useful to have.
A useful set of tools. Just what I needed for use with an older theodolite.
Thank you so much...
As an Engineer doing total station work for feature surveys this app is great for calculating my set up co ordinates & closures. Nicely presented. Well done Blake.
if this tool can replace casio and hp monopoly "in surveyor pocket" then it can be call a surveyor calculator.thanks for making my everyday task easier.tq for update
Nice app. Is there a way to have more than one project stored. I see there is import information but not sure where files need to be stored for app to locate and if it will give me choices. Still learning app and what I have seen as a surveyor for 18 years it could be useful in a generic way when tenths for setting stations is not required or giving me a general area to locate traverse points not used for years. I would also like to use different coordinate systems.
I thought I'd done my homework checking for the best app. This one was rated at over 4.5/5.0. But I see no practical advantage for a survey technician, letalone a professional surveying engineer to use this app. I couldn't figure out how to apply it in the field. Maybe, just maybe, using the GPS features could be useful for very preliminary large site investigations. But when it comes to picking up points, working a traverse, storing predetermined point information, determining a baseline, laying out offsets...well, I just can't see how this app would be used over any other traditional instrument or method. I tried inputting a list of coordinates for a property survey and then couldn't see how the app would do anything more than make a little image of it. It could take the coordinates and show the distances or "bearings" but for only two points at a time and didn't store the results. There are a few schoolboy "math tools" that I'd rarely use, and if I did, I'd just use the basic calculator on my smartphone or tablet to do. I guess I was sold by the others' reviews and maybe the idea of importing and exporting data - but wherever I import or export it to, is the instrument I'd use.

Nicely done, just what was need for the survey industry. Hopeful that you will add leveling or vertical comps. of some kine.
Very functional. Can't wait to use it. I would like to see Rods added to the distance conversations. A lot of the old deeds and plans here are in Rods.
Great APP. Would like to see vara conversion vara÷0.36=feet
Have spent the past two hours researching for an app that could calculate the intersection of two lines projected from two coordinates and two azimuth measurements. I just wish it was a bit easier to work with data points and see the relationship between UTM coords and bearing/distance projections rather than having to switch to the View to verify data entry, and what UTM zone am I working in? And would be nice if I could directly select the point to edit or delete rather than select the operation then ID
Thumbs up!
I'm a surveying company owner for more than 20 years and am so happy this app has come along. Very usefull tool when youre away from the office. When I asked Blake to revise the app to do traversing with bearings instead of azimuths he revised the app within 2 weeks.
This is the most useable Android surveying application of its kind. It has many routines that are part of everyday surveying. Worth far more. Keep up good work . I can only echo comments below. Developer obviously serious about helping other. Very pleasing to use. Thanks.
I've tried just about every surveying app for android and this ranks among the best, can't beat the price either. The developer is very helpful and quick to respond!
One of the best survey apps I have ever used. Could you make "Create New" and "Open Exist" possible in data mode?
Super easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing to boot!
Could chainage and offset between points be added?
For surveyors in Australia you will love this. Best Survey App I have ever seen. Can't believe this is only $2. Unbelievable...
I would recommend this app to any surveyor in the field who needs a quick reference guide for on the job calculations. I found it very useful and easy to understand and would recommend it to anyone who needs a quick reference guide. This is it!!
