Ambio - Sleep Sounds

Now stable on MotoG3/Marshmallow. Pro: powerful sound mixer with ability to add your own sounds. Con: (1)Ambio sounds are largely household or urban noise; Lightning Bug offerers more bird and animal sounds. (2) UI is much better, but building in more instructions would improve app. I see how to "copy" a mix, but how do I name it? (Answer below, thanks!) I've bought most of the Lightning Bug plug-ins; at last I can play them w/o Lightning Bug's instability!

Used to be one of my favorite apps. Now ambio has an unfortunate glitch on my Galaxy S7 edge in which the chosen sound stops noticeably and loops back around almost like an old record skipping. It's most annoying and disappointing. How you can fix it.

This app is perfectly customisable. Any more options and the stress of choosing would be counterintuitive! That being said, the option to choose sounds from any default mix to create your own mix makes this ambient sound app the perfect accompaniment to any meditation or breathing exercise. I wouldn't survive in the city without it! Thanks!

Recently Ambio has horrible skips no matter which on board audio system it uses. Last night it started scratching like an old record. I guess I'll be trying something else because each new update makes it harder to play on my phone.

With new phone, this app uses a huge amount of power. It will eat the battery alive in no time. I have contacted customer support and will see what the outcome is. As it stands, the app is now unusable without the phone being constantly charging. This is bad for the CPU which is constantly active, and will reduce the useful life of my phone.

***used to be so happy. Now it skips and sounds like an anxiety inducing helicopter. Woke up sooo tense and panicked. Cant sleep. Please fix.***** Really great app. Continues to play while in other screens, multiple settings. My favorite feature is the ability to layer different noises to create custom sounds. ---update---this app is still amazing. An absolute life saver. Have been moving around for the last year and sleeping in couches and less than accommodating places. Would not have been able to sleep without this App. So great

I see I'm not the only one experiencing glitches where it skips. Believe it or not that makes me wake up in the middle of the night. It's also Frozen on my phone to where it never shuts down when I have it set to shut down after an hour. I was a satisfied customer but I am now shopping for a new app.

The tracks are all very nice, but they all stop for a fraction of a second during playback when the loop starts over I'm assuming, and it keeps me from being able to sleep.

Good for sleeping in places with a lot of noise. Developers are quick to respond if you have troubles. Had to adjust settings to avoid abrupt pause as the sound repeats. Now that it is adjusted it is seamless. I really need an app like this. Thanks!

Used to love this app. One of the only things that helped during my horrible bouts of insomnia. It worked well for many years. Since upgrading to Make, I have had nothing but problems. Terrible skipping during mixes makes it sound like a broken record. Despite saving personalized mixes, they refuse to load for playback now. I hate how buggy it's become because, it used to be the best. :(

I am so happy to be able to update this review! There is an area in settings to choose which audio driver to use to minimize/eliminate the skipping issue. It finally works on my device again, I am so happy I could cry. Thank you devs! Original review below~~~~ Here's to another case of constant skipping. I have been a fan of lightning bug for many years, but something has broken on it (started with noticeable gaps in the loops, now it just crashes on launch) so I decided to try this one. Skipping persists, and it looks like the developers haven't addressed the issue here either.

I used to love this application used it every night the huge selection of sounds and the flexibility of the program was awesome I've been using it ever since lightning bug came out but now all it does is Skips and glitches it's unbearable and we are forced to use relax rain Which is far inferior yet at least we can listen to it what happened Ambio???

I have always used this app. Loved it! Now.. HORRIBLE! I'll play the rain sound with some lightning. The rain will stop playing and then the sound of thunder will play then the rain kicks in again. It's like it cant play more then one sound at a time. It used to work seamlessly. So disappointing

Installed this on my new phone and it seems to skip every minute or so, no matter what mix. I'm bummed!! This was a favorite app. I hope you can fix it!

In my opinion this is easily the best sleep/relaxation app on Android. The amount of customisation you have is amazing and allows you to create very specific moods or environments. However I have deducted a star because there hasn't been an update for the app since I got it. There hasn't been any more sounds in the store since I got the app either which means listening to the same sounds (although there is alot) or downloading and using ur own. Also when you go to remix volume levels for different sounds the app resets everything to zero making it hard to fine tune a mix you've made. Fix these issues and its 5 stars!

It skips so much now, I can't even enjoy it... I even try changing to mixes I don't frequent (as if that would matter) still no luck, and I paid for a few of my favorite mixes. Real disappointed

I love this app. It has helped me drift off to sleep many times, the only thing I would love for you to add is the ability to manually enter the number of minutes into the sleep timer instead of having to scroll through.

Not continuous, gaps and skips in several mixes. Very frustrating

This app has a lot of great features. My one complaint is you can hear the break where the track and and starts over, which tends to ruin the soothing effect.

Like many others, I loved this app until it started skipping on the loop. Been like this for a while, so I'm assuming the company who made it doesn't care.

I can see that complaints about the skips have gone unanswered for MONTHS.....so..... bye. I will miss you, but there are other apps in the sea.

Used to be perfect but it updated and now the sound skips every minute or so, jerking you awake.

Absolutely the best ambient sound app. Love all the features. Love all the sounds and the ability to mix sounds while storing the mixes. Then, put those mixes and premade mixes into a playlist for a variety of sound for hours! Love this app!

Had for years, use it every night or sometimes when I'm working even. I'd like to support and buy more sounds, hope you put out more soon.

Where did the timer go? I only see the alarms. I used the timer more than anything else.

Lots of skips on paid version. Update, after contacting dev about issue, he promptly responded and fix the skipping issue. It's just matter of changing driver. Dev stood behind the support and that's what counts

Giant gaps/skips. Long pauses with no sound - could never sleep. Would prefer a seamless playback

Broken in its current state as the gaps in loops rather dispel the relaxing magic.

You can hear the pause when the loop restarts. Very distracting and an inferior product to others on the market.

Ambio does exactly what I want in a user-friendly way. The addition of the media controller made it perfect for my use. I did have to fiddle with drivers on my old Note 4, but had no problems on my Note 7 (RIP) or Note 5.

I have, like everyone else loved this app for years but with Note 5 is skippy, (sad face)

Im getting the same skips or pauses. Very distracting cannot use this app.

I don't always need this kind of noisemaker to fall asleep. Last night, I used it without setting a stop time, and woke to my phone shut down, despite being plugged in and charging when I went to bed. It didnt do thus before. Original nexus 5 android version 5something.

I've tried others but this is my favorite sleep app. Even my grandchildren love it and will ask for it when they sleep over. It has never failed me.

Sounds are skipping or not loading. What happened? Used to love this app now looking for something else.

Now audio just continuously skips. A shame.

Some kind of bug defaults any additional downloads to not play, it plays the ocean waves sound instead. Have tried reinstalling but no luck. Any fix?

I love the addition of the starship, but it needs Trekkie sounds like the turbo lift doors, and soft door tones. 'Enter!' Lol
