AutoBoy Dash Cam - BlackBox

Tried every similar app, and this is by far, the best all around! Many useful options, including the background recording. I honestly can't think of anything that could make this app better. If you want to use your expensive phone as a dash cam, I recommend this! You won't be disappointed.

Keeps crashing mid drive. App keeps crashing mid-drive. I'm using an S8+. I even paid for the pro version, what good is a dash cam if when you're done with the drive the app isn't even running. I even turn it back on at a red light, it starts to work and when I arrive at my final destination, the app has crashed once again. I will have uninstal, it's no good to me.

This is a great dashcam app. BUT My phone is getting really hot and battery is flattened in minutes when using this app. going to try some different apps. I might re-install this one if nothing similar without battery problems

The concept is great and the layout is awesome but unfortunately this app has been very unstable for me. Sometimes it records for 3 minutes and stops, sometimes it records for 5 seconds and crashes... Tried multiple configurations with the same result. Tried clearing the cache and same inconclusive result. Would be an excellent product for me if it worked. Uninstalling

How do you exit this app? I'm using a Galaxy S7, but receive a notification some time after finishing using AutoBoy that AutoBoy is draining my battery. I assume therefore, that AutoBoy must still be running in the background. I've unticked the box to allow AutoBoy to run in the background, but this still hasn't fixed the problem.

URGENT - THIS APP DOES NOT SUPPORT DUAL CAMERA PHONES PROPERLY. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A LG-V20 PHONE WHICH HAS TWO REAR CAMERAS (WITH ONE NARROW AND THE OTHER WIDE ANGLE LENS). THE APP BY DEFAULT ALWAYS CHOOSES THE 75 DEG (NARROW) CAMERA WHICH IS NOT SUITED TO THE DASH CAM ROLES. LG-V20 HAS A BEAUTIFUL SECOND REAR CAMERA WITH 135 DEGREE WIDE ANGLE LENS - WHICH IS SUPERBLY SUITED FOR DASH CAM APPS. THE APP SHOULD ALLOW SELECTION OF THE SECOND WIDER LENS AS WELL, FOR PROPER ROAD VIEW. AS OF NOW, IT LOOKS AS THOUGH I WASTED MY MONEY ON THE PHONE.

Wow, wow, wow!!! I was wanting a dash cam because i am a mobile business, on the road a lot and this is just what i was looking for! Thanks so much for the good app. Works great, even at 2g speeds.

Bought the Pro version some time ago now the developer changed it to an add version and wants to charge for the Pro version again. What a con.

It would be good to remove the speed. I don't want to show the cops I've dive above limit when trying to show something else. Otherwise, the app is great. I'm using a Samsung s7 edge.

Doesn't run in the background, when I try to use this and my GPS at the same time dashcam stops recording!

suggestion. Add nfc support so you can scan a nfc card and have it start recording automatically when you get In the car. Would safe you flaffling with menus

This app is great. It has more than a dash cam could ever offer. It has frame by frame viewing. It also shows your GPS location during your recorded trip. And that is just a few of the features this app has. If you you don't believe me.....See for yourself.

Good quality video. Lots of options and useful features. Only app I have found so far with an infinity zoom option. Other dashcams used to auto zoom on my dashboard and so blur out the actual road!

App closes itself within a couple of seconds of opening. I managed to get it recording but I only had about 10 seconds of video. Nexus 6P.

I recommend that front and back cameras be recorded at the same time.

Forces LANDSCAPE mode, which is rubbish as my phone holder is PORTRAIT.

when opened, it turns your phone landscape. Yet, I can just position my phone portrait.

Has pretty much everything I need. Much love.

I've been waiting for a Good (Dashboard Camera) application actually "Worthy" of daily use. I finally found it in this app. Great Work Developer!

Since I've downloaded this app I've used about 200gb of memory on the app alone and 300gb of data

It seems great, but it kicks me out five seconds after opening it, every time.

This app is great. I've been using it for a long time and I finally bought the full version and I couldn't be happier. I read some of the reviews and I can confirm, it does show coordinates, along with the date and time. I mostly use this when I'm with my son and I record our time together using the front camera. It works perfectly. I have videos that are several hours long. I'm using an S7 Edge, connected to a Aukey quick charger, mounted on an iOttie One Touch 3 car mount which allows a lot of flexibility. So I extend the phone to allow one of my AC vents to cool it while in use. Works pretty well. Highly recommended!

Tried using it for the first time yesterday while driving Uber. Did a couple 5-10 second test videos which worked great. Hit record throughout the day as I picked up passengers. Reviewed it today and the only thing recorded was the first two 5-10 second videos I took. This app would be great if it actually did anything, probably.

Seems to work OK but subtitles only contain time date and speed. Shame coordinates are not included, then it would suit my use case well. Not much use without. Perhaps a future update.

On s7edge will record long but play only 30seconds. Have payed version but support is useless. Never got any answer to my emails. Do not recommend. Waste of your money...

Great app for Uber/Lyft drivers! Very happy with all possibilities, switching to front cam, automatic override of old files, background recording, perfect! One thing that would be awesome is if it could use the front AND back camera at the same time, not sure if that is technically possible. This is the best app out there, I am a very happy user.

Background recording causes phone to slow down considerably. Also​, after some recording time it causes front GPS app to close. My phone has Qualcomm 820 with 4gb on board so quite fast.

Good app. Does the job its supposed to. However, does anyone else have a problem with it randomly shutting off? I've noticed that after a certain speed it stops recording? Anyone else have this problem?

I want to give this 5 stars as it has some great features and is well designed, but stability seems to have really suffered lately. Often it will stop recording part way through for no reason, sometimes it crashes the GPS subsystem on my phone meaning location tracking stops, other times it completely crashes the phone and recovers only after a forced reboot. With these issues I just can't rely on the app to record my journeys and will be looking for an alternative. It's shame because I recommended this app to several people in the past. Sony Xperia Z5 stock / Android 7.0, handlebar-mounted on bicycle.

Works great. I really wanna give it a try. The problem is it is completely draining my battery. Doesn't matter that my phone is plugged in. It's very slowly discharging. Each minute that goes by, charging goes down by 1%.
