About Swipe for Facebook

Why sacrifice form or function when you can have both? Swipe is the smoothest, slickest Facebook wrapper app out there, integrating the light Facebook mobile website into a familiar user interface that is much like the original Facebook app.

What you get is a lightweight, highly customizable, and battery-friendly Facebook alternative app that emphasizes on user interface and user experience as much as functionality and design.

It's better in every single way. You'll feel it.

Pro version available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.happening.studios.swipeforfacebookpro

Upcoming features in the works:
- Automatically open Image Viewer whenever pressing on a photo
- Fix for horizontal scrolling
- Caching tabs for faster reloads

Comments/replies won't appear after sending. And on the app drawer, when you choose update status and trying choosing the add photo icon, it doesn't work and the add/tag person works otherwise no matter how precise I try pressing. There is no calibration problems in my phone. Hope this gets resolved soon! Looking forward to more in this app.

I have high hopes for this. The idea is great. Really buggy though. And slow. Idk y. Sometimes things work sometimes they don't. It's very strange. But it's still way better than FB so far. I don't have to try and search through a million comments to see my friend's (s') comments. That's huge. While I see plenty of promotional stuff so far it seems way more tailored and less political. Thanks for that. Also most of the time, I can leave my feed and come back to where I was at which is just fantastic.

O70%
by O####:

Everything works good, except when there are page or friend recommendations on my news feed, I have to swipe to check all the recommended pages/friends in the list. While doing that, the app always swipes to the friend requests and notifications section. It would be good if you restrict swiping to those sections when the user is swiping through those recommendations. And Also, I can't find an option to make a pic full screen if it's uploaded in a group along with other pics, like in an Album.

U70%
by U####:

Worlds better than the official FB app. Also supports messenger in the app. Edit: strange issues when someone's got a video on their page it forces me into full screen mode. When this happens I lose the ability to scroll further as the full screen video player invasively and endlessly takes over my screen. Started happening around 3/16

This is a great app but I hate it when I click to a picture and it will leads you to the picture you clicked with black background and "comment" below. Please make it just like the original facebook on mobile. Which you can just scroll down and hit "like", write a comment and then tap on the right or left side of the photo to see the next photo. I love this app and I was hoping that you make that changes on the next update. Thank you and Keep up the good work.

Great app! Lightweight, without all the other garbage like stories, which Facebook keeps loading into their app. The Android FB app has become a real resource hog, and the Newsfeed screen has gotten cluttered. Love the fact that I can change profile/page which I am commenting from on each individual post.

Swipe has gorgeous material design. I admit it. Exploring facebook with dark mode giving best experience. Last time, i gave two stars because this app consumes a lot RAM. However, after testing for a month I don't event see this problem. Yet, i'm still wondering several fixes, like ability to change the LED notification colour and change the unpleasant app icon. So horrible. Sorry, but its true. But more than that, I love this app so much. Best regards.

1/21/16. Working again, including messaging. Bumpy ride. Still better than FBmessenger spyware. Then 12/2016: Well farewell old friend. FB completely blocks this app now on my phone. Cant do anything with it. Back to web & no messages. (former review: This is a great way to do FB. It restored my ability to PM ppl. Unless FB takes it away again.)

K70%
by K####:

I was trudging through Facebook on my browser cause the Facebook app is such a resource hog from everything I've heard. Swipe for Facebook is a really great alternative to the actual Facebook app. Doesn't hog power or resources and offers a good amount of customization. Is easy to use with lots of benefits whether or not you pay for the Pro version or not. Could run a bit faster but I'm definitely not complaining.

B70%
by B####:

The Notification Bar disappears when using the Search Function and when clicking notifications, heavily limiting navigation utility. I have to press the Back button just to navigate back to the News Feed. This was one of the "features" that made me stop using the official FB app, so seeing it here for no reason makes no sense to me. Going to stick with Browser version of FB until fixed.

by U####:

Memory problems. Issues with load time, clicking on "more" sometimes won't display anything, comments sometimes don't refresh after submitting. Sometimes, comments don't post at all. App sometimes returns to the top of the feed instead of the last post viewed. If I didn't hate the official app so much, I wouldn't use this one. Wouldn't even consider buying pro until problems are addressed. UPDATE: ads that aren't showing up in the FB app are showing up in Swipe! Almost as if you were sending extra ads to get people to buy the pro version!

U70%
by U####:

Great idea, was happy to find alternative to Facebook app but Swipe user experience did not convince me. I expect when I click comments to see only comments and not need to wait for all the post to load, when I click picture I expect to be able see only the picture and be able to zoom it(posts with more then one pic), clicking post details the content is not always loading. Plus point for messenger integration.

K70%
by K####:

As I've done in the past, this 1* is simply for attention. I'll change it back to 5* once this issue is fixed. Lately, on both my phone and tablet, I've been getting a "Sorry, something went wrong." error. It starts when checking my notifications and then persists on all pages after that.

T70%
by T####:

I switched to Swipe hoping for a more seamless app. However, I am going vack to the official FB app after Swipe continues to show I have notifications when I don't. The red will come on randomly and sometimes flicker off and on. It's not huge, just irritating.

U70%
by U####:

On Facebook web, even if I refresh the page, it will still show me the same things, which makes it easy for me to track something that I saw before but haven't clicked in yet. In this app, even after setting the news feed to "top", everytime I refresh, a new set of posts will be shown instead and the old posts are never to be found.

U70%
by U####:

Love the app so far. Has all the necessary functions. Only thing I've noticed is that there's a larger than needed box around profile pics as they show up on my TL. Is there a way to make that go away? Otherwise, great app!

G70%
by G####:

I love the lightweight simplicity of having Facebook and messenger in one! I love that I can access messenger more like email, without the obtrusive bubbles popping up. The only thing lacking is when I click on a message notification 90% of the time I get an error message. Otherwise I love this app!

U70%
by U####:

Facebook lite was starting to get slow and crashed often. This is a good alternative. Notifications aren't very reliable and still show as unread even when you've clearly read them hours prior

U70%
by U####:

So far so good. Runs so much faster than the official Facebook apps. Layout is similar to the website which is nice. Haven't found a need to go pro yet but might do anyway just to support the dev(s).

S70%

A few quirks (is, drop down menus can be hard to access, comments don't always appear) but good overall. Nice lightweight way to have Facebook with chat included.

N70%
by N####:

I want to love this app, but the fact that I can't ever respond to posts from within the app is a huge problem. It doesn't matter whether I reply or post a separate comment, it doesn't show up 99 percent of the time. I would gladly purchase pro version if I knew this issue could be resolved.

Had this app for a while now and it's been good up until the latest update... Now i think my deceased family moves faster than this app loads news feed AND messenger. Not sure if it's the app alone or if it's Facebook as well but the lagging is BAAAAAAAD. Someone needs to fix the problem fast...

U70%
by U####:

So far I absolutely love it. One of the biggest complaints I ever had with the official Facebook app is when they removed the true "Most Recent" tab, and began to aggressively tailor my feeds based on something other that my direct choice. Now Facebook still has a tab called Most Recent, but it doesn't actually put things in true chronological order, and seems to avoid many posts altogether. Swipe gives me back my Facebook freedom, and puts posts in the exact order they were posted in. There is still a Top Stories tab, but it's not forced on you. Furthermore now that I'm free of the official Facebook's aggressive feed tailoring, I'm now seeing posts from people and pages that I haven't heard from for years. Not because they weren't posting or I had blocked them, but because Facebook had somehow determined they weren't important. Anyway, I'm very happy with this app and highly recommend it to anyone with a Facebook account. My only complaint is that I can't seem to find a Swipe desktop version....

Couple of things missing from Event creation; Photo upload for a banner image and the timezones for events seem to be a bit weird and not correctly linked to your actual location. Aside from that, very good app. The settings are very flexible in particular.

M70%
by M####:

It's only good for access to Most Recent by default. Notifications are annoying. When you get a notification, for example, that someone left a comment, clicking the notification doesn't bring you there. It brings you to whatever page you were on last. Long load times as well.

U70%
by U####:

PREVIOUSLY I WAS FACING ONLY 1 ISSUE, i.e. COMMENTS DON'T APPEAR DIRECTLY AFTER COMMENTING. BUT NOW THERE'S ANOTHER ONE, i.e, While reacting to posts with Heart or Laugh, the screen moves a lot.. Thus, I couldn't react on post.. Apart from this its by far the best Alt app for fb. No annoying ads. Smooth & simple. Consumes less battery & is lighter than official Facebook app. GO FOR THIS GUY.

A good 70% of the time when I write a comment on a page or reply to a comment on one of my posts or write a description or whatever when uploading a picture the text does not show up! It's so annoying when I reply to someone a hundred times and still my xomment doesn't go through.

N70%
by N####:

Omg! Way faster and up to date with newsfeed.. And yes, you can retrieve your fb messages, so no need for messenger.. Lagged my phone really bad. Only been using this swip for half hr..so far it's by far better than Facebook app

I was using the Facebook mobile site, but I was having problems with it. Probably caused my Facebook to force me to use their terrible app. But this app works too and also replaced Messenger. Nice!

I70%

Still needs work. I have tried 3 times to post a comment with no success. I see others have the same problem, so it's not my phone's. Moved back to official app, looking forward to see this fixed.

U70%

Was good for a while. Has been having issues with battery drain and slow loading times. At this point, I feel like it's no different than the Facebook app itself. Uninstalled after using for a year and progressively getting worse.

W70%

It's a mess. Not sure I like it or not.cant find my way around . The resolution of pictures make them look awful. Also can't seem to find where to darken up the page.

OK, here's the deal: The official Android FB app has such a gargantuan footprint that it bricks my tablet. I had to restore to factory default ( which, of course, wipes everything ) twice. Finally I just had to stop using it. I tried another app ( Mini FB ) -- it worked but it spammed me with pop-up ads. So far, no such problems with this one. Plus, this app integrates Messenger.

L70%

I have tried few unofficial app to browse fb. This is one of the best and very lite weight. Shortcomings in this app is some of its feature is prime means you have to pay in order to use. Apart from that it is very useful even in free version.

GREAT alternative to the monster battery-hogging laggy ad-bloated privacy-intruding ridiculously gigantic default Facebook app - and MESSENGER! - the worst mobile app ever forced on Android users around the world. Swipe is a beautifully designed, user friendly, small-footprint, customizable app THAT INCLUDES ACCESS TO FB MESSAGING! - all this and no lagging, freezing, buffering, battery-draining, or interference with other software on your phone. What a relief! Thank you, designers, for beautiful work!

Not perfect, but overall works well. Takes far less space and burns much less battery than the standard Facebook and Messenger apps. Very good rating. Installed on my One Plus 3 with Nougat 7.0.

U70%

Is fast by comparison to the Facebook app however seems quite buggy. Videos especially seem to give this app trouble and 40 percent of the time don't load. The video player itself is rather gash imo. Facebook on chrome works better so I'll be using that for the meantime and checking back for improvements in this app.

U70%
by U####:

Please improve your photo sending mechanism.. it works horrible whenever I tried to send multiple pictures in each of my posts.. your idea is there but need to improve.. the rest aspects and features are quite good

N70%
by N####:

Works much better than the original FB app. The only annoyance so far is the notifications list keeps scrolling to the top when I press the arrow to go back to the notification list from viewing an item and I can't seem to tag people in a comment by using @ and the name.

U70%
by U####:

Does a good enough job replacing the official Facebook app, but the ui is a twitchy flickery mess. Seems to work about 33% of the time. Considering going back to official Facebook app
