qicr lite IRC client beta for Android
Good app so far with some bugs.uses alot less data than browser based chat.does pic and vid ok.no enter/leave notification even tho the box is checked.last log line sometimes autoloads in chat box.often dropps first letter of message.overall a decent app tho, just keep working on it guys.t.y.
No possible success connecting to freenode. No docs. No examples. No presets. Nothing works. Oh well.
We cannot scroll on the notification, Please add a floating Window, when we open it, it shows you the floating IRC window.
Would be great if you could set up a server password.
Great app and helpful dev
DCC where?
The vast majority of UIs I see these days are the obvious result of someone jumping on the newest design bandwagon without understanding the reasons for the design elements to exist. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for not being those people. I've used it for a whole five minutes since the redesign, and I haven't had an "OMG WTF" reaction once, which is like a record for me. That notification thing is effin' genius, and channel/nick lists are great uses of the whole 'slide-out' thing. I love being able to pick fonts and colors. I am kind of wishing I had a highlight word list, though... I really don't want to get notified for every message.
Better app for droid
Definitely deserves more attention.
Started out fine for minimal purposes and then superfluous stuff like a terrible built-in browser that you can't disable in Settings and ignoring system screen rotation settings started showing up. Meanwhile, basics like copy+paste and closing channel windows and reading server windows are missing.
Doesn't seem to work with multiple servers behind ZNC. Updated... With a quick developer response, I tried using user/service instead of, user then user/service:password and was able to connect using ZNC.
By far the best IRC client for Android and the best simplest and most impressive user interface.
Love this app, but PLEASE implement DCC!
App is great so far, best available for Android.
Proabably the best IRC app I have found, the UI is great and minimal. I do miss the old tab system from years ago. But I'm getting the hang of it. If there is ever a dev version I will buy it hands down.
Too complicated to setup
The last few updates further improved this already amazing app. It does so many things that no other IRC client does, not even any of the desktop ones. I wish there was a donate version available, so that I could support the developer.
The ability to copy messages is critical for me. The ability to tap or long-tap to mention a nick would be a decent convenience too.
For the widget, add more customization (aka font and look) and make it so that the latest message scrolls down (you have to scroll down to get to the latest post every time you go back to the widget)

I love this Irc client. The widget is fantastic, and the functionality is clean and simple. The updates have greatly reduced the amount of fatal crashing, making it very appealing. The only two things I wish for are support for colored text, and the ability to use a custom display font. If I could use Fixedsys with this client. . .it would be a dream come true! Thanks for your hard work Perry! P.S. Sometimes the widget has an issue automatically scrolling to the very bottom of the channel. Latest android.
Fantastic app, shows some really great potential. The only major thing it's missing is DCC support, at the moment I have to have 2 IRC clients installed since I DCC a lot, I hope you'll fix this in the near future, if you know what I mean. ;)
Total failure...worthless application. Uninstalling. Pathetic!

Connected to dalnet, when an operator kicks someone out of a room, its shown backwards as if the operator got kicked. Other than that I like this client.
No other client felt quite as clean or played nicely.
Great client. Very easy to setup and use. Bonus is the speech recognition works really well within google's limits.
This client does everything well, and tosses a few brilliant ideas on top. It looks modern and works fast even on older devices. The ongoing notification contains a chat window, which you can use to reply without switching away from whatever app you were using. Reconnecting is completely transparent, you usually don't even notice that your connection dropped. The only bug I ran into is doubling of last sent messages on reconnect, but it's only a local display bug and is easy to tolerate. I wish this app was higher in search results :(
Fantastic. I love the multitasking functionalities. Only quirk is that the widget, at least, doesn't display when users quit. A userlist would also beautiful.
This is my favorite irc client for android. So many cool features. DCC support would be great though.
I have to confess that I'm dissapointed with this IRC client, but I'll continue using it anyways. Simple to use as an umbrella, good. But quite unfriendly at the beggining, bad... Fast as a plane, good. Complex to set up servers, no "big-ones" list to help", bad... And then... the widget... Gosh, it is amazing to have a widget that gives you straight access from the home screen on the phone... But again the implementation is bad... too bad... why a pop-up window to write on the channel?? Could be implemented a lateral bar for the rest of the people in the channel rather than pressing the magnifier button a million times??? I hate it and I love it... I'll keep it, but please... Improve it! All the best!
although this is a more controllable/customisable client than some, it sadly doesn't enable copy of text from bot results to paste in channel rendering it useless to me :(
a few bugs though. If you have 2 channels with the same name but one has double ##'s, only one shows up, channel joining isn't too good either. but other than that this client is awesome!
I gave 2 stars for layout and options. Too bad it never connected. Always said it did, though.
The best irc client for android.
where are the logs kept?
Very easy to use, works very fast. Not much settings but most things are as they should be anyway. A very nice thing is that it shows up in the notifications, so you don't even have to switch apps when you want to glance at a channel. Support is also very good, answers and updates come very fast.
Quite a lot of unique features in this IRC client. The widgets are handy to have. It is also convenient to open a chat widget right from the notification. The project is open source, and that's a plus. Getting more bugs ironed out as well. Another pro of this app is it takes up the most of your screen, even the notification bar is transparent. Still in beta, so expect bugs and missing features.
This is an excellent IRC client. It is currently in beta and not afraid of having some bugs, but they're well worth the extra benefits. This is the only client I could find that offers a dynamic notification that shows the current chat, or a chat window that opens on top of other apps so you don't have to constantly switch back and forth! This app is being actively developed and it gets better and better every update. If you're looking for an android IRC client, look no further!

What this app does well: it has a widget (woo) and usability is pretty good in general. A lot of great customization options and tweaks to set it up the way you want it to be set up. Things like channel organization and tab complete work much better than other irc apps. Problems I had with it: for some reason, I cannot get this app to maintain a consistant connection. After connecting, it may disconnect with no reason given, and you won't know you've been missing messages until you type something and find it doesn't go through. The app can't seem to stay open for me, half the time when it hasn't disconnected from the server it closes entirely (w/o phone restart or memory issue that may force it to close) and you get in the habit of having to relaunch it every time you use it. The application also has an option to show join and part messages, but once this is set up it seems mostly arbitrary as to whether you will actually see those messages in chat. You can find yourself talking to someone who isn't there. Summary: Other IRC apps I have tried don't have the customization ability this one has, and it is generally much easier to set up and use than other apps are. However, other apps only tend to disconnect when your actual internet disconnects, instead of seemingly randomly soon after you have connected, and they tend to stay running unless you specifically close them. For someone who has a use case like I do, where I want to be able to just see what messages I have missed by looking at the widget and then respond to them, the inability to maintain a consistant connection doesn't really make the app's positive features worth it for me.
