You can see at a glance the status bar icon state of each switch.

It is also possible to use a proximity sensor while the screen is ON, it is turned off by applying a cover or in a pocket.
And It can also be turned on by opening the cover or out of the pocket.
(If you want to use a proximity sensor, and battery power than usual)
