A lei exige que os motoristas estejam com o farol aceso nas rodovias, mesmo durante o dia. Aqueles que forem pegos serão multados por R$85,15 e 4 pontos na carteira de habilitação. Até Novembro de 2016, este valor será reajustado para R$130,16.

A lei 13.290/2016 entrou em vigor em 08 de julho de 2016 e desde então milhares de multas foram emitidas através de todo o país.
