This app is not good at all. Constantly having to keep turning on receive calls. When I get a call it takes entirely to long to receive the message. I am hearing impaired and thought this app would be helpful. I am looking for something else. The captions are very very slow. Most of the callers hang up.

Wonderful app for hearing impaired. Use with cell phone and a Bluetooth device so you can see the captions. Crashes every now and then, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars

It won't allow calls in or out at times. Half the time while in a call with captioning working then call doesn't disconnect but the closed captioning stops and Hamilton operator disconnects from call. Hamilton said that its a service issue not a connection issue but had no answer of how to fix it

I really wish captions can be displayed faster on this app. Many callers hang up when I take too long to reply because I have to wait for everything they say to be captioned before I reply. Also I wish the app could used split screens so I can key in options while reading captions of automated systems. Aside from these 2 issues this is a great app I've been using since 2012.

Caption lag is entirely too slow and on Android (Galaxy S6)the caption is not advancing past the "end call" bottom of screen. So if you get more than a one-sentence coversation, you cannot read incoming text. Several calls to Hamilton, tech support is well aware but has not made any update to resolve in over 3 months of complaints. Deaf users want to communicate, too... Hamilton, please fix this!

Love the app but for some reason the last line of the relay message is always half cut off. Because of this I have to wait until the message advances to correctly read it. It's impossible when it's the final line of what the person said. I have a note 4 and recall same issue with my older phone as well. Already reported this but still no fix. PLEASE COME UP WITH A FIX. Maybe a manual margins adjustment? Once fixed this app will be 5 star perfect.

It is cumbersome to use when trying to use my own phone to listen to my voicemail. It would be helpful if it supported split screen for newer versions of android so that I could read the captions on one half of the screen while entering the commands on the other half. Perhaps even better is if it integrated directly into the phone app so the commands can be entered straight into the CapTel app and not need to use 2 separate ones at the same time. I also read someone else mentioning the scrolling wasn't very good. I agree with this, the bottom line (aka the thing currently being said) is obscured by the END CALL button and it is hard to read. Still a useful app but requires tweaking to be a good app. i am using a samsung galaxy s6.

The problem is, when they are taking and Hamilton is typing everything they're saying but hamilton type so slow and when I'm reading it,they there on the other line saying hello is anybody there but I'm trying to read it it is taking so long to type it need to speed up most of the time is misunderstood she say "bye" Hamilton type "bank" seriously

I installed this app for my grandfather and was a little worried when the registration asked for ss# and birthday, but then I realized there's actually a federally funded receptionist middle person and they cannot give this service to just anybody. It was a little daunting to get going, but once installed it worked great. I will now be calling grandpa on his caption number.

A good app in assisting with (short) calls. But, phone must be able to pull both data and voice data at same time. Older RAZR HD had this feature and assumed it worked like this on all phones. My new Turbo did not work but I found I could enable VoLTE with verizon which enables this (free). Last gripe is that the app's caption text screen does not scroll well, I end up having to ask the caller to repeat the last sentence for it to show up on the screen. Rinse and repeat, largely defeats the purpose of app.

You need voice plan to even use their services. I only have text and data. Makes no sense in wasting money for services you rarely use. .. but the concept is great. .

Using a Samsung Galaxy S3, I was unable to place a call nor receive a call using the "Call me" number assigned to me. The application consistently would disconnect after I answered the phone and then gallantly reconnect but, alas, too late for the captioning service. Interestingly, my phone was not on the list of compatible Android smart phones however in reply to a message I sent to Hamilton Captel at their website I was informed the application is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S3. I am a devoted fan of the service on my Windows XP computer and terribly disappointed that it is not available to me on my Android phone.

Tried this application once before, but unable to understand using it since there are no instructions (or none I could find). Uninstalled it...then several weeks later CapTel emailed me a Thank You note...about ....well I am trying using it again. However, so far I am not impressed. Registration is a nightmare !

The android registration has an image verification/captcha asking for six characters, the field only accepts one. So you cannot compete the registration process Went to the site to register - that worked - although the website registration requires the ESN number of a CapTel phone that you have already bought. I did not read that requirement in the documentation. I entered the CapTel ESN number as I had one - and sent the registration and it was immediately responded to -- with a request for my CapTel phone ESN number. (?)
