Audubon Hummingbirds At Home for Android
Removing app can't log in. I got in once then upon return it wont let me log in. Too bad great idea.
Worked first time I installed it. Now, it won't accept my password even after I reset it on the web site. Please fix. Great app if it worked consistantly.
Won't let me log in from both email addresses that I tried. When it's fixed I'm more than willing to use it.
Would love to do this but app is not working cannot log in. Please fix
I'm an avid birder living in Colorado and have three types of hummers come to my feeders throughout the spring and summer season: Broad-Tailed, Black-Chinned and Rufous. I use only a feeder filled homemade sugar water. There aren't many flower bearing bushes or shrubs in my area until my morning glories bloom. I think this app is cool and makes me feel like I'm contributing to data collection for my specific area.
I've been using this app on iPad for several years. Now I can use it on my phone. No listing for birds eating get bugs or just in a yard.

Failed to run. What can I say!

Sad app
I really want to use this app. I just cannot get it working. I just spent half an hour just trying to setup my first patch. This is the most frustrating app I've ever used. Ever. If anything at all is not absolutely perfectly entered, I get text error messages and then I have to start over from scratch, re-entering my email address and password. I've just tried with multiple keyboards and even handwriting and just got yet another "Alert Error with payload.. " message. Then start over again. Crap junk software.
Painful nectar source selection process. You should allow people to text search for specific plants, and use Latin name as alternative to colloquial names, which are highly inaccurate and frequently used for more than one plant. In my opinion should also allow users to note if hummingbird visited patch for insects, or water. Hope it improves, because this is something that should succeed.
I have an account, and I can open the app with it - but I can't do anything else. As soon as I try to create a space, I get a bunch of gibberish and the app goes back to me needing to log in. I love this idea, and I WANT to love this app, but until it works - I simply can't.
Tried repeatedly to create an account. Nothing would allow me to get that far. Incredibly disappointing. Uninstall now.

Great app. Great to be a part of data collecting. Audubon...please consider adding Indian Plum, Oemleria cerasiformis, to the nectar plant list. The Anna's, & the early arrival Rufous, are all over it! :)!
What a piece of s...!

Been observing hummingbirds for over 40 years'. So excited to be involved in this endeavour to help scientists & researchers to better protect such amazing creatures.

This app is as bad as week old nectar. It sucks the fun out of watching the birds.
The list does not include fuchsia, even though it is listed on the site as a common source of nectar. If all sources cannot be shown, there should at least be the option of typing in a source. Also, to highlight something by covering it with dark gray shading is counterintuitive. The app is well-intentioned, but badly constructed.
Limited app focused on only the types of hummers and what they feed from. This app does not ask about sexes or ages of hummers. Only the types of hummers and their food sources. Good basic app for what the data they are gathering.
Viewed instruction video before beginning my patch count. There were 4 hummingbirds on one feeder and two on the other feeder. I could not find a way to quickly count them without going through the complete process of finding the correct hummingbird and then finding the type of nectar source and then repeating the process 5 more times. Not likely to continue using APP if there isn't a better way to count. Am I missing something?
Completely unusable. Field of view does not fit into phone screen. Cannot sign up properly or login. It's a sham because the intentions of this app are priceless.
Simply viewing "single report" page auto increments a prior count, error message about requiring 5 digit zip will not go away, and what about canadian alphanumeric zips? Nice try but have a few novices test thoroughly before broad promo/release
Looks like it would be nice to use - if it would only work!
This app has a lot of potential but still needs work. My biggest complaint so far is that the list of nectar sources does not include many of the most common (native) plants for my area (Florida). No Salvia coccinea, no Coral honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens), etc. So all my sighting entries end up showing "nectar feeder" as the nectar source. This can't be helping Audubon's research efforts. Sure hope Audubon is reading these reviews.
The paucity of nectar sources listed is kind of annoying. I have many non-native ornamental flowers the birds in my yard feed on, but I am forced to put 'unknown' when I am quite certain what they are eating. Everything else is great though.
Cannot even connect on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 so I can even try it out. Gives server connection errors. Audubon apps are becoming a joke. A waste of money!
Two weeks ago I signed on, excited to be part of this scientific endeavor. I got my email and password set, but every time I try to enter the site , I get a message that I cannot connect, check my server. My server is working perfectly. I can't enter from laptop or from my droids. Can you help me? rcherie@gmail.com
Not happy with this app. Could not set the single sighting for when no net connection was seen. Cannot change the location for single sighting when net available. Not easy to change the location while reporting. Would like to be part of this but it needs more improvements.
When you try to log out and exit you get stuck in a loop. I had to hit the back button and exit buttons roughly 10x before the app actually closed..
This is a fantastic new app and a wonderful way to learn about hummingbirds.
On my GS4. Comes up with some sort of network error, and yes I do have Internet access.
So awesome to be a part of the information gathering on these incredible birds. Can't wait to get out this weekend to spot some in the Presidio.
Unable to connect so I uninstalled this app.
