Stock Board Cut Calculator for Android
so I've read the comments about not accounting for saw kerf. to work around this i added the kerf to each measurement. Overall i really like the app. I have downloaded multiple ones and they dont do what this does or you have to pay for them. If could add/change anything it would be the following. 1. a way to print. 2. a way to imput fractions to get the decimal %. I know it's easy to get by division. This isn't a big deal. 3. Some way to specify how many i have of a board length. For example if i only had three 10' board and rest 8'. It will calculate mostly the 10' boards with a few 8'. Again I can work around this, but this is a way to make it a great app. THE BEST PART..... IT IS FREE!!! :)
Great idea Mr Toaster. I tried to send you a message, but it bounced. Is your published email working?
It should account for the kerf, or just leave an inch leftover for it. It'd also be nice to able to enter 2x4s, 1x4s, 4x4s etc on the same project so it's all in one folder. Other than that I like it so far
I tested this on a project I've already completed using 16, 10ft pieces. ...according to this app, I would have needed 17 pieces. This app generates an inefficient cut list. Also, and this is the worst part; it doesn't account for saw kerf it told me to cut a 10ft board into 4, 30inch pieces! (one of those pieces would have been 3/8 of an inch short)
One nit is that it should account for blade width, or a setting to leave an inch of scrap. You can't actually get eight 1' boards out of a single 8' board (as an example). Perhaps a setting to account for 1/8th inch per cut lost on blade width.

It works and is simple to use. * It does not take into account saw blade kerf. * While it does let you save your cut list, there is no way to export it (print, export image, export CSV / XLS / etc.) * It does not allow you to enter custom board lengths * It handles board lengths of 2' 4' 6' 8' 10' 12' * I cannot seem to get it to save multiple projects, just the first.
