About h2g2: The Hitchhiker's Guide

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. Perhaps the most remarkable, certainly the most successful book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor - of which no Earthman had ever heard of. More popular than the Celestial Home Care Omnibus, better selling than Fifty-Three More Things to do in Zero Gravity, and more controversial than Oolon Colluphid's trilogy of philosophical blockbusters Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes and Who is this God Person Anyway? It's already supplanted the Encyclopedia Galactica as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for two important reasons. First, it's slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words DON'T PANIC printed in large friendly letters on its cover.

Its a great wiki app and I would use it as my primary wiki app BUT the Douglas Adams picture in the corner randomly is quite annoying. I understand you want to honor him but if I'm going to use this on a daily basis it has to go or at least a toggle to choose. The black and blue skin takes a second to load up and I also have to tap on the search bar twice to get my keyboard to show up but that's just nitpicking.

Liberating as it is comparable to a piece of angel food cake, my issue is that the background is stuck in the stark white format as opposed to the more eye-catching black and blue. Is there anyway to rectify my plight?

A clever way of making that repository of all, or at least a lot of knowledge and a dab of wisdom, Wikipedia, into an app. Works well, especially once one makes a free account. May as well do so. Who knows, you may think of something to add to the 'Guide' yourself.

Guys... how can you make the Guide without the voice? This should be automatic... a simple text to speech "English male" would suffice.

The babel fish at the end of the page is just worth anything :-) a little surprised that the earth's entry didn't simply state "mostly harmless", though!

The best e book ever written. It's finally realized, really really realized for real. You owe it to yourself to seek out the guide in any form.

Was looking for an actual application of hitchhiker's guide, but this is just a linked version of Wikipedia

though the Doug Adams popup now and again is a little crass, the app has made me more likely to read random pages of the wiki. perhaps some animated interface and personalization options would take my 5.

Looks good if only it didn't crash every time I opened it.

All it is, is a program that takes you to wikipedia... rather usless... I would no star if I could

Q70%
by Q####:

No this isn't a cheezy remake of the device from the series of books, it is however a great interpretation of what Douglas Adams was elaborating to... A useful hand held device filled with useful/useless information edited and updated by random individuals... Wikipedia was an excellent choice as a representation of this... 5 stars. Way cooler than the boring Wikipedia app. -1 star for the random crashes though...

Q70%
by Q####:

Don't install, has no funny Hitchhikers Guide references, a Vogon could've recited a better poem than this app.

Z70%
by Z####:

A "DON'T PANIC" banner opening and a re-skin in blue on black of the Wikipedia app. When searching for the entry for Earth, you are presented with the full Wikipedia page, rather than the guide's original "Mostly harmless" entry. A shameful exploitation of Adams' work.
