Jasper Nat'nal Park GyPSy Tour for Android
Good comments, very informative. It can not be moved from internal memory to SD card and the screen being active all the time drains the battery easily though
All of the other Canadian Rockies tours had a different narrator. He was exceptional and a pure joy to listen to. This tour it sounds like you tried to save money by having a someone who has never done voice work record the audio using cheap equipment. Get the other narrator to record the audio and you will get 5 stars.
Guided us thru the whole tour. Gave great commentary and directions. Greatest thing is we didn't have cell service so we downloaded it at a bit 7 spot and it just used our gps signal. I used my blue tooth speaker and everyone in the car listened and enjoyed. The VERY best part was I never once got yelled at for being a back seat diver. Didn't like this narrator as well as the other guy tho
We took a two week tour of Canada recently and the GyPSy apps really added to the trips! The app has lots of interesting information and excellent recommendations for where to stop and see the best sites.
Good app for the price but the developer need to get the sound working better on mobile devices. Only useful if you have location set on the phone. I had no sound after installing. I rebooted the phone and the sound worked. Then I noticed the audio was off again as I drove past selected audio updates. The audio automatically started but I couldn't hear it so it was pretty useless. I stopped the vehicle and used setting to force stop the app. I restarted it and the audio worked. It seems to hang up on audio.
Great guide for personal driving without the need for a tour guide.
Wouldn't play audio at all or activate at locations. Crashed frequently
Grabbed all of the guides for the Rockies. Very happy how they all worked on my tablet. Most of the guides work in both directions which is handy if you are driving back over the same route.
The Canadian Rockies GyPSy apps worked very well. We loaded them a few weeks before our vacation. We did not tour Jasper as much as we did Lake Louise and Icefields Parkway, but this app worked as well as the others. The GPS and maps were quite accurate and give you a few moments notice before reaching a destination or a turn. We enjoyed the commentary and learned a few new facts as we traveled. I used the actual GyPSy device a few years earlier on a previous vacation and these apps worked just as well - saving me quite a bit of money! These apps did NOT require my phone or data service to be active - it only needed the GPS. I recommend purchasing these if you will be driving through the Canadian Rockies. If you want to test it out, try the free Calgary to Banff app then purchase and download when you reach Banff.
We used this app for the 2 days that we were in Jasper. It clued us into things that we would not have otherwise done. If you are going to Jasper National Park in Canada (and you really should go), this is a great companion. Works in and around Jasper and to some of the outlying sights. It would be perfect if it included some commentary on Mt Edith Clavell and the Angel Glacier... one of our favorite hikes. Highly recommend.

Don't leave home without it....it provides great info and suggestions...otherwise you are just looking at trees and mountains without any context. It brought us to what turned out to be one of our favourite hikes.
