Oahu Full Island GyPSy Tour

The tours are pre-programmed and do play as you drive, in one direction only; which is a bummer. Some of the info is interesting, otherwise, if you want to know where all the tourist traps are this is the app for you.

What a great app! Very helpful, like what to see, where to turn, where to park, where to eat, and how to get back to town. Just outstanding. Then a bit of history too. All automatically initiated by GPS Coordinates.

Easy to use, really and informative. Love this app! I was sad when my GPS in my phone broke (too many drops on the floor) because I could no longer use the app. Works great on my new phone though!

We arrived in Honolulu with no real plan for our activities. Found this app by accident and gave it a try. Provided us with good directions and some insight which allowed us to explore at our pace as we moved around the island. The ability to reverse the route of the tour would be nice but the current route is effective.

This app worked great. I agree it would be awesome if you could choose which direction you wanted to do the tour in. Don't try to do it backwards, it doesn't work, we tried, ended up turning around and starting over. Just go with the suggeted route and you'll be good. Guide gives very good directions, points out really neat things along the way, and is kind of funny too. We really enjoyed the tour. Worth the money, and you get to do it at your own pace in your own car and not a tour bus! Nice!

This app is brilliant!! We had no idea what to explore on Ohau...this app took us to the North Shore, windard side, and in between!! Could not had done it without you... Thank you, Gypsy!

If you are not into organized touristy things and like more flexibility (like me) this app is for you. I loved how well the app new the road recommending speed and on which lane to stay. Great alternative to bus tours and much less expensive. Narrative was very pleasant and entertaining. Even if you are just driving without any plans of stopping it's great to learn the points of interest in the area. This is the best purchase ever!

This helped us to see and learn so much and saved us money we would have otherwise spent on a tour.It allowed us the flexibility set our own schedule.Well worth the price, and then some.We'll use gypsy for every future travel destination it's available. Helpful advice on what to stop and see and how long it would take, and what we could skip if short on time. I really wish you could preview the map and listen to the tour without actually being at the spot.That would have helped us to plan our trip/day.

It was great to have a guide along the drive that would work with our own pace. The only nitpicks I'd make are: 1. It'd be cool if the narrator could introduce himself instead of just being a nameless, disembodied voice. 2. It'd be cool if the narrator could let us know when he's ducking out and when he'll be back instead of just chunk of silence. Something along the lines of "That's it for now. When you come up to _______, I'll be back to tell you more about ______." Also, other people have mentioned charging issues. My phone almost ran out of batteries, even though it was plugged in (I was using the car's built-in USB instead of a separate cigarette lighter adapter). Definitely get some dedicated charging!

Complete waste of money. Map is over crowded with arrows. You can't figure out anything. Please don't buy.

Excellent app. A must have personal guide. But needs 2 big improvements. 1. Allow user to choose an available tour manually. Also allow user to just choose a major destination manually. 2. Once a tour or destination is selected, begin GPS guidance from the point the user is located. The way it works now is that only starts guiding when you happen to be on. It's pre-designed route. That is not always easy to know.

It was like we had someone with us pointing everything out! It was a great app. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I couldn't take pictures and run the app at the same time. My phone is the only camera I have and every time I opened the camera, the app stopped, it wouldn't run in the background. Not a deal breaker, but I missed a ton of great shots! Still a great app and would recommend to everyone!

The GPS enabled tour is very cool and works great. You feel like you get the guided tour without spending too much money and can go at the pace you want instead of being shuffled to follow a schedule. Commentary was interesting. I didn't give 5 stars because you have to go in the direction the app is created for. Quite a hassle for us because we had to go through crazy Honolulu traffic. Going in opposite direction doesn't trigger the gps commentary.

It is a really great application and we really enjoyed the interesting and humorous comments when we were doing our tour of the island. If you rented a car and you want to do your own tour, this is really the App you need to download. I wish there was a tour for the other hawaïan island too!

I loved this app. It's a cheap way to see the island. We rented a car via kayak for about $30 and just downloaded this. It was really awesome, we named our guide "Carlos" as we made our way around the island. It really does take you to all of the main places and gives you history about them. We did the full Island Circle Tour. It wasn't rushed. We left around 9am after some breakfast and got back to Waikiki around 4pm. We hung out at the beach, the Dole Plantation and even had time to stop by two shrimp trucks and Matsumoto's.

For learning enthuasiast such as myself. This was a great guide around the island. Stop when you want to. Join the tour from any points. It took us around 830am til about sunset to start from kapolei and stopped the tour the lookout where you see Waikiki. I would definitely do it again. Make sure to have a car charger to make sure you are ready for the whole day.

Worth every penny. This app even mentions the great roadside vendors. Much better than taking a tour bus. Tips: start the tour early. We started at 9 and hit some traffic on the North Shore. Didn't end up doing some of the final destination. You should break up the tour for 2 days.
