About CleverConnectivity +++Battery
CleverConnectivity is an application that helps you to manage your data and wifi connection in order to save battery.
Device on Android 5+ must be ROOTED.
IF SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE GIVING A BAD RATING. I am giving all these features for free, please be comprehensive.
Please note that this app is not yet fully compatible with Android Lollipop 5+ as Google has restricted the access to the method to toggle mobile data programatically. Once (and if) a workaround is available, I will implement it.
How does CleverConnectivity work?
This application will automatically turn on and off connectivity (data/wifi/sync) while screen is OFF.
For example if the user chooses below configuration:
Time On: 2min
Time On Next Check: 1min
Time Off: 10m
Usage check Interval: 3s
Once the screen is OFF, CleverConnectivity will keep connectivity alive for 2min. Then it will check if data is used during a period of 3s.
If data is used, connectivity will be kept for 1 minute (Time On Next Check).
If data is NOT used, connectivity will be desactivated for 10min. After this, the connectivity will be re-activated and Time On will kick in.
Once screen is ON, connectivity will be automatically re-enabled.
How does this CleverConnectivity is different from its concurrents:
- You can turn on/off connectivity (wifi/data/sync) everywhere in the system (settings, toggles on notification bar...) and will be taken into consideration by CleverConnectivity
- CleverConnectivity can check data usage before disable it. Therefore your downloads/streaming won't be stopped
- CleverConnectivity can also manage your wifi connection
- It's very lightweight and efficient. You just have to install it and configure it and then forget it. It will do it work silently and efficiently.
- It's free! It contains all features of the paid version. The only difference is the presence of ads. If you want to support me, then you can buy the no ads version.
Details of features:
- Configuration of ON-OFF cycle (Time On, Time Off, Usage Interval Period)
- Disable/Enable connectivity (Wifi/Data/Sync)
- Enable/disable management of Data/Wifi/Sync connectivity
- Sleep Hours: During these hours, all connectivity will desactivated one screen is OFF
- Auto Wifi-Off: Wifi will be disabled after after a defined period if screen is OFF and no known networks are available
- Possibility to read logs generated by the app
- Possibility to deactivate the app while the phone is plugged. The ON-OFF cycle will resume once the phone is unplugged

What really consumes the battery of our phones is the internet connections. What this app does is to turn it off when we’ re not using it, so it DOES save some battery. The good part is we can setup the time as we want. However this app has some gaps: the Sleep Mode doesn’t work right, it will turn on Wi-Fi even though your phone has the Airplane Mode ON, sometimes it takes too long to identify that no known Wi-Fi networks are available therefore takes too long to turn on the Mobile Data – you’ll end up turning it on manually. I sent an email to the developer two months ago and didn’t hear anything about it - the app is good though and it's worth downloading, I don't plan to remove it.

After working perfectly for a while, for no apparent reason, it forgets it should turn wifi back on and prefer 3G when screen is on. At least on Lollipop it doesn't do the same with Sync, like it did on Kitkat.

After activating this, my phone consumed about 10% life overnight. Before, it would easily use up about 45-50%. I still got all my notifications and emails. This is the best thing I've found for extending battery life next to having a spare battery. (Don't believe the other reviews complaining about ads, I spent about ten minutes reading everything and setting everything up and saw maybe TWO ads that were easily dismissed, and really--the paid version costs less than most icon packs. Totally worth it.)

Ads each time you touch you screen. There are options to customize the app but consider yourself lucky if you manage to touch the screen without being bombarded with ads. Enjoy the previews in Google store as those are the screenshots of what you will not be able to get to

Thanks. An application i was searching a long time. works like a charm. No battery drain !. I would like to suggest a separate set of params for wifi & data. After upgrade to Lillipop 5.0.1 there is no need for the notification on the lock screen - if you block the notification the app stop working !

If you don't mind only syncing each 15 or 30 minutes and if you lose some time setting it up, it will do what it claims.

My hats off to the developer who put all the time and effort in making this root not required app. Not entirely sure what the benefits you will gain from this.. As it seems it had made no impact on my draining battery. Some of the options are very difficult to understand and not made clear to the user. Regardless I will test this out for a few more days and once I get the hang of this and find its purpose I will increase the rating
