Silent Mode Widget for Android
It worked great for a long time, just as if it were a Hardware switch. It would toggle all sounds between mute vibrate and silence. Now it is worse than worthless. Whenever a telephone call is missed, it automatically allows all sounds to turn back on. This is a pain in the ass if you're relying on the mute function I would have given it a five star rating until this recent glitch rendered it effectively useless.
I feel like I want to give this app a higher rating, but I can't. I click till it shows its on silent, but its not. I have to select silent, then press the volume buttons all the way to the bottom again, and then select silent again. So not sure if it works the way the old silent mode does or if its a bit buggy. Why do I have to select silent, then press volume buttons all the way down, then select silent again?
I use download and use toggle on every phone I get. I need visual assurance and quick ringer manipulating for the work I do. My 1 suggestion ......please update the look of the widget, its looking old and tired. Needs a makeover. I've not seen it look different i all the years Ive used it. Can you design a sleeker more modern looking switch? But not drastically different, just a cleaner modern look would b nice
My phone doesnt mute and I tried this hoping it would work but nope instead everyone in my work meeting got to hear my phone ring
I've used this app for years. I try others but always come back to this one. It does exactly what I need without a lot of fuss. It's the best.
Lollipop is not sweet! Someone clearly didn't think this priority shiZle through all the way. Thanks for updating your app as much as u could. I'm looking forward to getting a complete fix.
worked under kitkat (LG G2) but position goes back to ON by itself (LG G3) lollipop. the actual position is accurate, but the widget displays different.
This app was great on my HTC but just installed it on my lenovo k5 android phone and there is no widget. I have gone into insert widget from the home screen but it's not there either. Please advise
Ahh! Going to uninstall and reinstall cuz an update supposedly corrected it...This is a big deal, considering having your sound come on randomly is terrifying!
Been using this app with ring scheduler for years and loved it until lollipop update. Please fix, it won't completely silent my phone anymore. Motorola Turbo
It's ok...but found out it doesn't turn off the media slider, so had to uninstall and find one that does. This app would be perfect, if it turned of everything!
I've uninstalled and reinstalled this favourite app, but still not working. Has lost its functionality and I don't know how to fix this?
It kept giving sound and vibrations even when turned off. So I went to another widget. Shame because up until Lolipop this was a decent widget I had had for years.
Silences 3/4 of the volumes. Leaves media volume untouched
Its not a silent widget, its a silent-virbate widget. The while reason why I downloaded this widget was to toggle between silent and loud without having my phone to virbate, which is very annoying! Please make it loud-silent without vibrate
My phone doesnt mute and I tried this hoping it would work but nope instead everyone in my work meeting got to hear my phone ring
Doesn't work in lollipop. Used to be the best. Please fix!
For some reason LG decided to make you go into menus to turn on priority mode unlike the ease of stock lollipop. With this its easy again! Thanks for the great app.
Yesterday, I gave this app/widget a one star rating as it hadn't yet been updated for Lollipop. The developer emailed me today to let me know it was updated. It was and it works, so this 5 star rating is for the app and the developer's attention to detail .... and to his consumers.
I've used this for years, but it doesn,'t work properly with Lollipop. Often goes straight from amber back to green missing red altogether and sometimes when green, the phone is actually still in silent mode. Shame there's no sign of this being fixed, trying to find an alternative.
Considering that marshmallow comes with 3 "Do not Disturb" modes - "Priority only", "Alarms only" and "Total Silence", this widget is not able to decide which of these 3 to toggle to and goes into something of a transcendental limbo state between "Vibrate" and 'Do not Disturb"
It does cycle through volume on, vibrate, and priority mode. The widget does not display properly though - it always reverts to showing volume on, regardless of the phone's actual setting.
Updated my LG g2 to lollipop and the next morning couldn't figure out why my alarm didn't wake me up. I had set the phone to do not disturb / priority only (until turned off) with alarm as a priority. Somehow it reverted to do not disturb without priority. I read all the complaints about this and wanted the simple silent mode back. The alarm should always have priority. This app seems to have done that.
Working 100% on Sony Xperia Z2. Still vibrating when on widget is "Silent" but not a problem for me at all. Android 5.1.1.
If i how many times touching there is no response and creating distrubance
This application does what it says but it is a little buggy. There is scope for improvement.
Works well. Would like the icon to look like Lollipop or Marshmallow stock widgets, icons, etc.
I got this for a quick click to turn off sound when going to a movie theater. Works great so far. No sounds in theater. My only problem with it is that I sometimes forget to turn it back on again when leaving the show - and may not notice it is on silent until the next day. Thanks, Jason.
It worked when first installed on my Nexus 6. Now it does not affect volume in any way.
Provides a single button that toggles between normal vibrate and silent. Also shows current state.
Simple and easy to use and it works...what more could you ask for?
Also icon changes randomly, although the sound config is unaltered -- this is sort of annoying.
It doesn't work it only turns the the volume up by one notch. But the silent mode works really well please fix this !!!
I didn't test everything, but I installed, added widget, turned off sound with button, pressed power button to put device to sleep and it made a sound. Same when I woke it up.
Nicely fills the functional gap that Lollipop created. It still does not allow me to silence the phone entirely, because it lets the new Lollipop priority interruptions pass. Three settings are now not enough. In theory we need separate settings for priority and non-priority interruptions, altogether 6 combinations: on/on, on/vibrate, on/silent, vibrate/vibrate, vibrate/silent, silent/silent. I could do with a subset of these, namely vibration only and a completely quiet setting, but both including priority interruptions. In other words, I could live with the widget ignoring any priority rights and always curtailing all signals equally. If I select OFF, I want all interruptions off.
Great app, has three options, volume off, on, vibrate. When in off or vibrate mode it over rides the Volume Lock app I have which is perfect.
Thank you. Totally fixed issue with silent mode on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 after android 5 update.
Don't want to be harsh on the app since this is googles fault.
I installed the app, but there is no Widget to add for me (Nexus 5 with latest updates). I rebooted my phone, and now it's there; in case it might help some other people.
