About Airplane Mode Widget

This is a simple airplane mode switching widget. This is a widget and not an application.

This application is included with my other toggles in my Premium Widget pack available for purchase in one convenient download!

***From Android 4.2 on - cannot toggle airplane mode with widget. This will now take users to the settings screen to change airplane mode. Will look into allowing this with root.

**If you are having problems seeing the widget, please try recreating the widget or reinstalling. Necessary code updates may require this action, sorry!

This is designed to match my "Simple Call Forwarding" widget and the "Signals Widget" bar.

Please check out my other applications!

This is a widget. Long press on the home screen -> Add Widget -> Airplane Mode Widget

Changelog on website

If you're having a problem with it turning on/off, please email me with the phone and Android OS version you are running (GSIII w/4.0.1).

Some phones have problems with airplane mode widgets.

Doesn't even take you to the screen it's supposed to! It takes me to tethering... Useless

C70%
by C####:

Without root android 4.2 doesn't let programs control airplane mode. So instead when you click it you get the sins window with the box for airplane mode

Y70%
by Y####:

Doesn't put phone in airplane mode but supposed to bring me the settings page to do so. Doesn't do that either.

V70%
by V####:

I installed it and, just like it's supposed to for Lollipop 5.1, took me right to the airplane mode setting screen. The color on the app (red/green) changed based on whether on or off. Flawless. . . But I decided to uninstall anyway and, instead, use my wifi widget which came with the device, since that requires zero permissions.

Used overnight this little gem closes down those process hungry apps that sap your battery. Ideal if you need to access you phone urgently.

At first I thought that it worked, as the status/signal indicator was absent, but I did a test, and on my RAZR JB that's all it seems to do, is make the indicator disappear. I can still access everything requiring a data connection, hence it's not actually working as intended.

Find this really useful when in areas with poor WiFi signals as it stops the power draining from the tablet.

Superb. Does the job with no problems and no permissions. Now that's what I like to see in a widget. Thank you.

Works great on my secondary device, an old Samsung Galaxy. Wanted to also use it with this ZTE phone, but get a message that some recent upgrade was (again, sigh) really a downgrade to less functionality. I'm giving a single star not because of the android version issue, but because this silly widget doesn't take me to my settings screen (where toggle airplane mode DOES work!), but to a screen for configuring VPN. Yuk, uninstalling.

While operating heavy equipment I must shut down all personal electronic devices per work rules. This makes it easy to disconnect my smartwatch and shut off all comms for compliance. Working on my Moto Razr M 4.1.3 (rooted)

L70%

Though I appreciate the warning after installing this that the widget is useless, it is... Nonetheless useless. I'm on a rooted phone so you'd expect a real toggle would be viable.

Hate that the widgit was removed. I had to use it every day. And having to push the power button was inconvenient. This app makes it a bit easier, but I've put a suggestion in to Verizon to help get the widgit add back.

I love this app mostly because it works great but also it duznt require tracking my data an special permissions. I dnt know the developer but I hope its a small business that I can help make grow by using there products.keep it up great app. No big brother to worry about. Thanks

Simply does not work. Phone only changes mode about ten percent of the time when used. Stupid. "You had ONE job..."

I put this widget on my desktop and switched airplane mode on, but nothing happened. It disrupted my Wi-Fi and data connection for a second, but then the connections came right back again. I'm using version 4.0.3

D70%
by D####:

Using the widget to put the Droid 4 into airplane mode: - does show "airplane mode" icon in status area at top of screen - does show "airplane mode" ON in System settings Does not turn off the cell radio. Evidence: - "System settings > Battery > History details > Mobile network signal" does not go black (radio off), instead mostly red (no signal) - receive texts - battery dies quickly

D70%
by D####:

Works great for quickly disabling wireless communications, but switching it back on does not work. I have to go through my phone's settings to turn on networking again.

O70%
by O####:

It used to work in 1 click. Now it takes you to the network menu and you have to tick the box and confirm. Galaxy S3
