Learners Logbook is an efficient, easy & safe method of recording your driver experience record as a Learner driver across ALL Australian States. Maintain both an electronic and paper based backup of driver experience record from your Android device.
Depending on which state you reside, Learners Logbook records all information required by your state authority, such as
• distance traveled
• start & end times
• trip place names
• road, traffic and weather conditions
All calculations required in your log book are performed automatically.
The application records the start and end times of your trip and calculates your trip duration. If GPS is enabled on your device it will also record your distance traveled and calculate your end odometer reading.
Additionally it will insert trip place names (when GPS is used) if required in your logbook. All you have to do is enter the initial odometer reading at the beginning of your trip. At the end of the trip you select what road, weather and traffic conditions apply and what split, if any, between day and night hours driven.
All details can be edited either at the end of a trip or at any time by selecting an individual logbook record from within the trip logs.
State Specific Features
Every trip saved has an associated supervisor record. If that supervisor is an accredited supervisor, for NSW all hours driven with that supervisor will be multiplied by three up to a maximum of 30 hours. These hours, along with all day & night hour totals will be shown in the log book summary screen.
You can publish your logbook at any time. Publishing creates a high quality PDF document that is nearly identical to the format of the manually printed log book. The number of lines on the report are the same as those within the manual logbook, which allows the transposing of all details and totals into the hand written log.
The logbook is emailed to the address stored within the learner details record of the application.
This application can be used as the basis for completing your handwritten logbook.

1. Ensure you enter your correct state within your Learner Details. The data captured and the logbook that is published is different for each state in Australia.
2. Although nearly identical with the paper based logbook, your relevant state authority does not currently accept the PDF output of this app in place of the hand written driver experience record.
3. When using this app we recommend the use of a cradle with your phone connected to a power source in your vehicle. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Very annoying when it resets if the screen turns off

A great idea, but unfortunately an active trip is reset and totally lost if the screen orientation changes from portrait to landscape (or back). As rarely would a supervisor have a cradle, just putting the phone down can reset it. (only workaround is to turn of autorotate)

great app, easy to use and would say it meets all the requirements of the paper version but is far more convenient as it is stored neatly on my phone! would definitely recommend this app. have never had any issues with it. outshines other, poorly designed versions floating around the app store.

I love this app for recording my daughters driving hours. I was using it for 5 months, no problems. But then I had phone issues & have had to replace my phone. As this app has no backup function I have now lost all of the data. Yes I have the written records & I also had printed it, but it was so good being able to have access to it quickly on my phone. This app really needs a backup option desperately. Then I would give it 5 stars. Please fix. Thank you

So much better than the official RACQ one. Every now and then it will stop and reset mid trip however which lost it 2 stars. This is so simple yet genius in its automation and use of GPS. Not entering licence numbers and car details every single trip is a God send haha. Just a note that when you publish the logbook the pdf footer has an extra o "log boook"

This app hasn't successfully saved a trip for me! I forgot to save my first trip and it didn't have the smarts to save it once i stopped moving. My second trip reset while i was still driving. Useless.

Very hit and miss on my S4. Keeps stopping mid trip and losing all data. Needs to be able to save partial trips. Also, there is no back-up function just in case phone crashes like mine and lost 3 months worth of data

doesn't include ACT as a Australian state so no canberrans obviously learn to drive and then it Lost all info and wouldn't save. Absolutely Useless Useless took time to set up fir no benefit whatsoever

I absolutely love this app, it has been so useful while I've been trying to get my license. My parents are divorced and I was forever keaving my learners log book at one house not a problem anymore, and because of this app I can tell that I have precisely 1 hour to go

Some times the app stops and your current trip is lost. For this reason you cant rely on the app. I don't like how you enter the trip details. Its nice how it adds the time and Gps provides the distance.

I find the app constantly stops mid trip and loses all the data associated with the trip except for the start kilometers. For this reason I cannot recommend the app. It does have a nice interface though and if the above could be rectified it may become worthwhile.

Great for a free app & i can leave the manual logbook at home now. The PDF logbook has all the required details and totals which match the number of lines in the hand written logbook as well as its layout.

My friend told me about the iPhone version of this app. I don't need to take my logbook with me and can avoid making mistakes in it. I'm in NSW it uses the GPS to automatically fill out the location details of my trips. The PDF logbook emailed is fantastic and I always have a record of my driving even if I lose the hand written logbook. Well done !
