Gunks handbook. Always in my pocket. Love it.

Leaps and bounds improvement over the guidebooks. A few discrepancies but overall a worthy purchase.

Great app, indispensable for Gunks climbers! It has great hi-res photos with superimposed lines that help a lot in finding and staying on routes. I find this (combined with MP App if I want additional beta) is much easier to use than a physical guidebook. The app is simple and straightforward to use. Now even better after being updated with a To-do list and other features. Also the developer (a local climber) is very helpful and responsive to feedback.

Best guide app out there! If you are a gunks climber you need this app. Clear pictures and route lines of every trapp climb. You get to list the climbs you want to do and the climbs you have done and are able to make notes about each climb. The only thing that is a little weak is the route description and detail you would find in a guide book. I would say much better app then the red river and new river guide apps and much much cheaper.

I raised my initial 3 star rating to 5 stars. Things are filling in nicely. The app is now meeting their own "complete gunks guidebook" standards. _____________________ [prior review, with some additional edits] They claim this is a "complete Gunks guidebook"... The framework is here for something great... Pluses - Lots of zoomable high res images with routes drawn in (topo). Includes other pertinent info for the area. Because it's an app, changes and updates can be quickly incorporated. GPS feature for finding your way around. Cons - these have been mostly addressed with later updates.

Keep those updates coming.

Great enhancements! Really appreciate all the work that went into this

This app currently functions like a great guide book. Good pictures from multiple vantage points make finding routes very easy. However, it's missing the mark on the flexibility of an app. Two presumably easy additions would make the app perfect: 1. The ability to make customized lists of climbs. 2. Being able to add notes.

This is no substitute for the MP app, but it complements it nicely. It has great photos with superimposed lines that help a lot in finding routes. I find this combined with MP App is much easier to use than a physical guidebook. The app is simple and straightforward to use. It is missing a bookmark and/or 'To Do' function, which would be extremely useful and make this app much better. I hope they will add that feature soon.

Great app! The pictures in the Dick Williams guidebook leave a lot to be desired and this app has saved the day! The pictures of the trail heads and route bases as well as the topos are all amazing. The descent information is also incredibly useful. Even if you know the Trapps like the back of your hand, there is still value in this app because it is just plain fun to peruse all the images and route descriptions! Hopefully they are working on an app for the Nears!

Must have for the gunks

No more wandering along carriage road trying to remember which path to walk up. Praise Allah.

They claim this is a "complete Gunks guidebook", but I can't imagine only using this app as a frequent Gunks climber. You will still need one of the paper guides, maybe mountain project as well, to be confident you know where you're going when you leave the ground. The framework is here for something great, and maybe in time they'll back-fill the holes. Pluses - Lots of zoomable high res images with routes drawn in (topo). Includes other pertinent info for the area. Because it's an app, changes and updates can be quickly incorporated. Cons - Missing many routes, some considered high quality (NOT comprehensive/"complete"). App navigation requires a lot of scrolling. Route descriptions missing or incomplete. _______________________ 3 stars is not a bad grade for an app with several shortcomings. It's a testament to the potential here and the hard work already invested.
