Aplus is an application to aid students in finding a tutor suitable to their needs. The application enables students to search a subject at whatever level they wish and uses Google maps to show tutors who are signed up in their locality/all over Ireland. Students can view the tutors information and read any reviews for the tutor in the particular subject for which they are looking for grinds.
Tutors can sign up on the application, entering their information, including their location, price, contact information, gender, tutoring experience, subjects they teach at each level, and a comment/result relating to each subject. Tutors will appear on a Google Maps search for any students looking for grinds in a subject for which the tutor is signed up.
Each tutor can be reviewed in a particular subject by a user. The review system greatly aids students in finding the correct tutor for their purposes and in warning other application users of incompetent/untrustworthy tutors who are signed up.
The application implements a Google Cloud Messaging notification system, whereby if a user searches for a tutor in a particular subject and there is no tutor signed up in their locality, the application prompts the user if they'd like to be notified upon a tutor signing up near them. The application then prompts the user to enter the radial distance for which they would like to be notified about a tutor signing up near them in the particular subject for which they are searching assistance. Students/users can also set parameters such as the price, age range and gender of tutors for which they would like to be notified about/see on the map. Notifications for any subject are easily enabled/disabled through the notifications settings page.

The app is a good idea..needs tutors! It crashes occasionally when loading subjects. Look forward to seeing this app when it has more subscribers.

Maybe I'm just stupid, judging from the other reviews, but this app is totally broken. I tried to add in my info as a tutor, seemed to submit just fine... Until I opened the tutor info section again and none of my data was saved. I then decided to search for tutors, to see if my info was showing up even if it wasn't appearing on my end. I turned on GPS/location services and opened the Students section, and tried to search for a number of subjects at different levels. None worked and just crashed back to the main menu. Also, if you say you give grinds at third level, it offers you only generic options like "Computer Science", whereas when you search it offers specific things like "Java Programming". And to make it all worse, the app and interface in general are totally hideous. Give it a miss until the app actually works and doesn't hurt your eyes.
