Emerald City Comicon 2017 for Android
Downloaded it this past weekend, got everything sorted, added events to my schedule, it was great. Now I can't get logged back in, it says its trying to update but its stuck.
Terrible. Doesn't work at all. Another miserable flip in a long line of miserable flops for the ECCC app. You'd think with how much it costs to attend, they could at least provide an app that works. Won't even open.
Maybe a bit better? Still terrible.
It's not actually synching with my schedule from the website
I used it last year and I will be using it this year again. Is very helpful.
Can't login to get to favorites my schedule. The map is floor only, no individual booth setups. The app was horrible last year too.
Hangs when I open it on my Galaxy S6. Says it's trying to update on the splash screen but just stalls out. I have to force quit.
W00t!!!!!!
A notification shows up, I click on it for details, and am always taken to something completely unrelated. The events scrolling along the bottom are either partial or scroll too fast (and clicking on it does nothing). There is no search feature I could find. This and more adds up to a disaster of an app! I was better off with the paper catalog.
There's no search function, the panels schedule is hidden, and you have to tap the screen one more time after selecting a panel to look at just to find what the panel is actually about. Just use Guidebook, ECCC! Also, way too many notifications, and they're on by default.
Worked for 5 minutes then just kept crashing my phone and saying there wee no events scheduled.
tons of notifications, hangs upon 'share via sms', not quite a replacement for the guidebook yet.
App seems to be working fine on my phone. This photo hunt sounds interesting...
To get a decent Con app? And would it be so hard to get a list of artists on the app or website?
Terrible UX/UI design replete with wasted blank space that also includes "read more" options and needless scrolling. "My Show" from the website doesn't integrate for some reason. There's no alert/warning if you schedule things that overlap (something that's in Guidebook). Just a complete lack of care/thought shown that makes me question the quality of anything else it's meant to do. Still better than the website though, so that's something.
What's the point of having a schedule that you can configure without it sending you notifications of things you want to do. Giant waste of an app
Can't bookmark/favorite exhibitors. Can't use my login from the website to import my already made schedule. This app should have been available a month ago so they would have longer to address issues.
Why couldn't they have done the update early enough so we could buy tickets before they were sold out. This stupid app updated well after they stop selling tickets. Really?!
Doesn't integrate with my account from the website. Why?? Now I need to redo my schedule and favourites a second time. Also, Bluetooth updates from sponsors? This feels like "sponsored content" masquerading as a helpful app.
It's great, nicely organized. But needs to be updated, still looking at the 2015 schedule. Also, it won't let me log into my account on the app.
A lot of good features. However, adding GPS to the map would be amazingly helpful.
I had no problem last year with the app. I was able to check frequently during the con. Can't wait to use it this year.
I truly enjoyed this app! It made Con days very easy to plan! When will it be updated to reflect 2016's 4 day Con???
I loved this app! It was so helpful with scheduling and finding my way around!
An app like this should not need nearly as many permissions as it's asking for. Absolutely not installing.
Comixon dd lo rlw
great and very useful app.
Can't login to get to favorites my schedule. The map is floor only, no individual booth setups. The app was horrible last year too.
Doesn't close, too many pointless push alerts, bad UI linking guests and exhibitors to map locations.
Pretty useless. A noticeable step down from last year. There's no way to add an artist or vendor to a "to-see" list, only events can be scheduled. It lists where a guest is on their page, but doesn't link or connect to the floor map. And - worst of all - zero integration with the planning tools from the website. Very disappointing, looks like I'll be doing my planning on paper again this year.
It was great at first, then I got to the Con. At Comic-Con it said "unable to open guide" and even when i got home it said the same thing. But an upside to it even though it wouldn't open it still gave me the reminders i had set the night before. It needs to be fixed more, but it was okay when it opened
A lot of good features. However, adding GPS to the map would be amazingly helpful.
i love this app, makes it easier to remember when events are happening.
Samsung Note 4. Got stuck on game page, would not nav back to main menu. Uninstalled reinstalled. Stuck on social media page. Cannot get back to my schedule, other pages, navigate at all.
Maybe they should have combined all the activities ypu favorite under one timeline? I was trying to coordinate my photo ops with the panels I want to attend and this app didn't help much with that
Much better than last year, only thing that would be nice if it could tell you where you are lol. I do like that you can add things you want to do or check out and it will send you a reminder.
So very glad they went back to the guidebook app instead of the homegrown unity trial version app that was made available last year.
Great for the entire con
The app is good. The map function gives access to all the levels and you can access it from the schedule. It does not allow you share or link the schedule with another person. I don't go alone. Best way to see what is happening on at any given time and the ability to search is extremely useful. Generally a good layout other than my schedule and my to do is under favorites.

Installed the app to dig around and get my plan for together for next weekend. Content organization is not user-friendly at all, guest list is all or nothing, no filter for celeb/artist/etc. Will be using the website instead to do my prep. TBD if I keep app for use on site or just uninstall.
