The Study Bible

The BEST STUDY BIBLE I get up 3 am walk 5 miles and listen to God's word for 1.5 hours 7 days a week. Thanks for such a powerfully intuitive app. The world is full darkness and dispare but God has given His word to us "light for our path" and "lamp unto our feet". This app helps me to very quickly find a passage and instantly being bathed in absolute truth, training correcting encouragement, Praise God. I pray The Fathers blessing on pastor John Mac Arthur!

Some great things are the Daily Devotional and the ability to turn on and off the night reading text (black background with white font color). I would rate this a 5 star if in the Daily Devotional the verses were either already in the Devotional section, or if they were linked so you could just click and go. Right now you would have to back out of the Devotional, find the verses, and then go back to where you were. Sometimes you have up to five versus to reference and it is a lot of going back and forth.

Good for in-depth away from the desk Bible study. I have it on my phone and it works fine. I like the fact that it has three versions of the Bible including the KJV. I also like the MacArthur Study notes but mostly incredible resource rich references to other places in the Bible related to the one I'm studying. MacArthur provides very very many links comparing scripture with scripture. The charts the diagrams the other resources included in this app or incredible. You would be hard-pressed to come up with something that isn't covered at least in some way or form. I love the maps that tell stories it really places things in perspective it helps me to understand even better what was done and that it was actually done on this Earth on Solid Ground. Ground I could go walk on.

Has the two best literal Bible translations and McArthur study notes. The search feature is virtually useless; it pulls up everything except the verse your looking for. I searched "Mighty God," and it pulled up many verses but not Isaiah 9:6. It would also be nice to be able to look up an exact phrase by putting it in quotation marks. E.g., typing Mighty God would pull every occurrence of mighty and every occurrence of God; typing "Mighty God" would only pull occurrence where Mighty and God appear side-by-s

I tried another app that used more memory. This not only worked better on my phone, it was easier to use. The features are a wonderful addition also, much appreciated. I like being able to select chapters to share with my son. Don't care for the phone but this app makes having the phone worthwhile.

I have been listening to Grace to You every single night for the last 3 years! Sometimes 1 to 3 sermons a night. The study bible is such a great pocket tool to have when you're away from your MacArthur study bible or just laying in bed unable to sleep. Thank you so much for all the hard work and accuracy that you put into your apps! They are life changing! <3.

Very good Bible app. It does need some improving though. KJV version does not work for me, and when I listened to a Q&A audio clip (on a Samsung Android phone btw) it wouldn't go away from the notification menu (still is there and I can't swipe it away). UPDATE: thx the King James Version works after trying what you suggested.

Thorough , easy to find additional information and passages from what you're studying. Very enjoyable. Love that I can read along with the narrator in the app or in my own Bible. Maybe he could slow down just a tad bit more. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful blessing to.me for free. Wow!

With all the notes, commentaries available, I think the UI needs to be redesigned simpler for better navigational experience. For e. g, after reading John's notes and clicking the ref link, hitting back button exits the app, this should bring you back to the verse which was being read. Also, the highlight, bookmark etc., options need simpler design with proper placement like Youversion Bible etc. Options to highlight with more colors, note sync, app for Windows 10, Bible dictionary would be nice to have.

The MacArthur Study Bible is probably the best study bible I have ever seen, and this digital version is a perfect companion to my traditional paper version. I love the inclusion of an NASB version. Of course, there is no point in a study Bible without the study notes. The price to unlock the study notes is very reasonable (I think about $4?) and you would do yourself a disservice to not purchase them. When we are talking about understanding God's word - perhaps the very most important thing in a believer's life - no cost is too great. Don't hesitate to purchase the notes like I first did. Even with my traditional paper bible notes nearby, I find myself using the app notes very frequently, and sometimes simultaneously to counter reference verses. Lastly, don't forget to check out the Grace to You Sermons app (it's free!) for even more great teaching!

This is a wonderful study Bible. I use the app when I'm away from my softcover version. There's an option to include John MacArthur's excellent notes, and you can also read from the different daily devotionals. Can't recommend it enough!

I have studied the Bible for many many years and listen to John MacArthur sermons on the radio. This app is not just an app it is years of John MacArthur's personal Bible study notes, all his Bible commentaries, blogs and sermons. I think this app is a gift to God's people from John MacArthur to further the gospel of Jesus Christ and to teach a clear and concise understanding of the Bible. I installed this app because it's a study Bible .... thinking John MacArthur's notes would be included. Apparently one has to pay for that to get commentary. I'm looking to HEAR ANY Bible commentary....I don't mind paying, but would rather do that AFTER a free trial .... and after I've tried and tested. I could spend a fortune trying to find the best app that literally just reads out loud a commentary. Easier said than found. HELP?

Great Bible teaching for a new Child in Christ! What a blessing to have a bible app that helps understand the bible if you can't understand a passage. Praise God that He has made this possible. Question do I have to pay any further then 5.99?

It's easy to use, stable, and has good features. Its reading option is very convenient for fast reading. I just wish it would let me remove those pesky headings. At least I haven't found a way to do it yet.

I love it. Having been Born again since late 2010, not finding out until perhaps 2011 who Pastor John MacArthur was, he is a Thoroughbred Pastor, and I would entrust my future children to perhaps only and only 20 Preachers in this found in this country America, and MacArthur is certainly one of them.

The app crashes and freezes quite a bit and I've only had it for a couple of days. Also, I feel other than KJV that Amplified is closest to the original text of the Bible and that is not available. I don't like the small amount of translations available.

Enjoy app but the reading audio won't work. I can't listen to the Bible readings or the sermons. I've redownloaded the Bible version and even the entire app. It also is not letting me have access to the Resources. Please Help!

New American Standard, the version I used when learning most of memory verses, and so pleased to add the MacArthur Study notes and even the audio feature. I am not surprised it is 5 star rated. Bless you Pastor-teacher John, and disciples.

I think this is an awesome source to the Word for Christians on the go, who can't literally carry or open their Bible because of work and other related circumstances. I like the daily devotionals because the subjects help us to consider, more deeply, how to walk out our faith, be more effective in our faith and trust the Lord in all things. Thanks for this great work and source of Christian faith building.

It was great before the newest version was released! Now the audio seems to make the app crash often. Kinda bummed about it. Then again, maybe its just my phone? The app is fantastic when it works properly though!

In an age of political correctness where the wickedly perverse have weedeled their way into positions of power. I use this app now more then my Bible. I prefer this to my hard copy as I always have help @ my finger tip. I will be 74 this summer and even I can manage this app.' all things are possible with our Lord, amen.

Although I enjoy MacArthur's notes, the actual scriptures only take up a third of my screen width. I don't know if that's because of my tablet, but there's not even an option to adjust it, which is frustrating.

I like that this app shows related verses. I wish it had definitions for words. I haven't figured out how to highlight yet. I don't b know if this has daily reading 'plans' for topical studies, but I've enjoyed reading Gods Word.

Has some very useful features. Two things I would like: 1. The ability to use it offline 2. Links between the devotional and the Bible, so I could go from one to the other without taking so many steps.

WOW!!!!! All I can say is Thank-you. This is exactly and more what I was looking for, the audio option blew me away I started laughing and getting all giddy! Now no matter where I go I can listen to my favorite translation of the Bible THE ESV, I can also switch to kjv and another version. Really reallly thank you developers, thank you mr. audio voice man, thank you for the customization.

This promises to be the #1 theological resource for smartphone and tablet users! Fantastic insight and contextual help into difficult passages. Would be nice to have an image share function to be able to post Scripture to Instagram and other media.

Blessed for me. But I want to search verse ( eg- Psalms 119:105;)I was very difficult. Book, Chapter, #Verse, three parts are easy to use and search for bible verse. Please help for me. God bless abundantly.

I really enjoy the notes and sermons and articles that are linked to the texts. There is still alot i am not using. This has really helped my study and macarthur is a trusted source who believes in the inerrancy of scripture

No shell integration. .. can't even use Android gestures to zoom and navigate ... I was expecting more along the lines of biblegateway or biblehub... but in an app that doesn't hog memory and resources. I am cleaning out my phone's garbage,too, so... that might help a little. ... but I need the memory and resources to run the parallel translation and concordances... this app seems not to be of practical use thereby for me.

A great Bible app. It is awesome to be able to click on a verse and have Pastor John's study notes right there along with related articles and sermons. I read a devotional or two every morning. They are much deeper than the average one. Like someone else mentioned, it would rate 5 stars if the verses in the devotional were linked to the Bible without going out. This must be hard to set up because I'm thinking it would be available then. Thanks for making this app for free... It is awesome!

We arrived at church and I realized I had left my Bible home. Since I love to take notes to look back on, I hurriedly pulled up Bible apps on my phone. I randomly picked one...i have never had much luck with other Bible apps i have downloaded so I wasn't expecting much. They have all been awkward to maneuver and get around in. So I was truly blown away by how easy The Study Bible was to use! I now have it downloaded on my tablet as well, and even got my husband using it. Thank you!

This is the best study Bible app out there to me, I wish it came in NIV as well and NKJV maybe that could be a improvement that y'all could fix is make more Bible translations available. It is really helpful and clears any confusion you may have over a subject. Alot of people are so confused about many things and this I highly recommend to anyone of any age.

I love this app because it's so user friendly, which makes me more likely to use it. The other bible apps I've had were so complicated I quit using them altogether but with this app I end up spending even more of my day in Scripture which is awesome.

This is a great app. In addition, it allows for two translations for comparisons. I love the devotional aspects and the sermons for when I am on the go. I have not as yet purchased the study notes because I own the MacArthur Study Bible.

I use this daily. Dr. MacArthurs study notes have helped me tremendously. Nice that on so many verses you can get the link to hear a sermon on that passage or to one of many blogs. Well worth the money

This app offers all i need: easy to read passages, audio, reference to pastor John's sermons & his comments and user friendly interface. If the audio can be downloaded offline, it would be great, as i often experience lag playing audio. Nonetheless the best bible app for daily use. The optional commentary is worth purchasing, even I had the same study bible on Kindle though.

This is an amazing app! I love that it gives you so many different versions of the Bible no only for comparison but also for ease of reading if you have problems with the KJV. The audio part is super as well, just plug it into you car or headphones and have ur bible read to you.
