About GSam Battery - Icon Pack

An icon pack for GSam Battery Monitor (all editions). Currently 6 sets of icons, though others may be added in the future.

This provides additional icon themes for GSam Battery Monitor, and also includes Overlay Icon support allowing any icon to overlay the default battery icon. The location and size of the overlay is fully adjustable, allowing you to place it in just the right location on your device.

NOTE: To configure the location and size of the overlay icon, open up this app, and select 'Configure Overlay Icon Location'

1) Circle - Big Visible Numbers
This theme provides a larger more readable version of the default GSam Battery Monitor icon.

2) Ice Cream Sandwich Theme
This theme conforms to the standards for notifications in Ice Cream Sandwich (Google's latest version of Android). Icons are supposed to be simple and white - Android then automatically dims the icon when in the notification bar.

3) Plain White Numbers
Simple white numbers on a transparent background with a small white drain indicator above the number

4) ICS Blue
Simple blue numbers using the ICS theme - this is great for using as the overlay icon as it cleanly matches the blue clock.

5) CM Inspired
Inspired by the CyanogenMod 10.1 default Circle Battery (but more readable), this theme fits in well with any Holo themed device. It has a very smooth charging animation which can be somewhat memory and CPU intensive - so it may not play nicely with older devices.

6) Just Numbers
By popular request from HTC users, this theme simply has white numbers. It works well as an overlay icon on top of the default HTC battery widget. Shrink it down to fit inside the battery icon, and set Background to fully transparent.

Once installed, you can configure the icon using the Battery Icon Theme preference in the GSam Battery Monitor preferences. Open GSam Battery Monitor > Select Preferences > Battery Icon Theme > and choose one of the icons from the icon pack. These will be listed underneath the 'Get More Themes' link.

Permission Explanation:
* android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: The icon pack enables the ability to overlay the default battery icon, thereby making the current % always visible. The alert window is required to use this feature. If you do not enable 'Overlay Standard Battery Icon' option in GSam Battery Monitor, then the overlay permission is not used.

Works as stated!

And my homescreen even when I set it, it will move n jump around wtf

K70%
by K####:

Couldn't find any icons that didn't look worse than the standard Lineage percentage one. Overlay is clumsy - slightly wrong size and placement.

Z70%
by Z####:

Whenever I choose an icon from this pack, it blinks in the status bar and in the notification drawer. Using one of the built in icons doesn't cause that issue.

by E####:

FEEDBACK--please add the option to add the overlay only to the lock screen. I'm using the one plus 3t and on my lock screen(mainly ambient display) I only see the time and date. Never the battery, unless it's charging. It would be nice to have this only on the lock screen. I have no use for this to constantly show on my screen, regardless of what app or screen I'm on. It just gets in the way. Thank you.

Z70%
by Z####:

I bought the icon pack a while back to get the "circle big visible" status because the surrounding circle changes from green to yellow to red as your charge drops. As of the upgrade to Nougat on my OnePlus 3T, the icon pack icons no longer self-update battery percentage. The icons built in to GSam pro, however, do still self-update. Frustrating and renders the add on icon pack useless.

M70%
by M####:

Shame that my status bar changes colours, leaving the icon to stand out awkwardly with it's black background.

M70%
by M####:

I pay Only for the overlay icon but it constantly moving... It's so annoying. Also it would be nice to make it work with "lux filter" app. Because the overlay icon is remaining bright while the screen is dim...

D70%
by D####:

Would I like to use the overlay feature to cover the stock battery icon? Sure! Can I? Yes! Does it stay where it should? No. I don't bother with it. It's a cool feature, but because the stock icon moves around so much, the app can't track it, based on orientation or locked vs. unlocked screen. Get over the gripes, as it's near impossible to account for every position without getting into the root code. Just add to the notification bar and move on. Love the stats provided, even without root access.

Whenever I choose an icon from this pack, it blinks in the status bar and in the notification drawer. Using one of the built in icons doesn't cause that issue.

D70%
by D####:

Overlay mode does not work well, but that is forgivable since extremely difficult. What I don't forgive is sticky notification for the *pack*, and then if you hide it you cannot get it back.

S70%
by S####:

which means that you need to change the horizontal padding all the time! REALLY annoying. On top of that it keeps disappearing all the time. Just NOT working....

S70%
by S####:

Stays in front of my normal icon. Doesn't respect the status bar current background.

S70%
by S####:

And my homescreen even when I set it, it will move n jump around wtf

J70%
by J####:

Background transparency would be nice instead of a solid color.

L70%
by L####:

Moves all over the place, changes size, stays over when pulling down notification bar.

S70%
by S####:

Wouldn't overlay correctly, kept covering the pm of the clock.

D70%
by D####:

Managed to position the overlay icon on top of my default battery icon (Samsung Galaxy S4). Looks nice... until you pull down the notification drawer... the overlay icon is still there covering a portion of the Samsung settings button... Hopefully this issue can be fixed...

R70%
by R####:

I love the overlay feature. Gone is the plain-Jane OEM battery icon, now it's replaced by the much better looking & animated GSam icon instead. Easy to set up, with position padding sliders. Having the icon that way frees up room on the note bar too, as it replaces the original Android icon that is otherwise perpetually on the right side anyway.

Q70%
by Q####:

More icons would be welcome

S70%
by S####:

I bought this because I didn't want the battery icon in addition to the battery percentage displayed taking up so much space in my status bar. When the icon from this app is placed over the battery icon, it doesn't move with the clock width which changes constantly depending on which digits are showing. This causes either the phone's signal bars OR the clock to be obscured much of the time.

K70%
by K####:

Overlay doesn't work on xperia x8.... very disappointed

Q70%
by Q####:

I was hoping this icon pack had been updated because the App Screenshots show a lot more variety and color options. As far as I can tell all I got was a brown circle icon. Won't refund though, still want to support this dev on the main product which is excellent. I'll consider the 99 cents a further donation after buying the Plus version of Badass Battery Monitor. Please add more icons to this pack!

Q70%
by Q####:

Icon for a Buck... hopefully more to come?!

Q70%
by Q####:

I don't see how one more icon is worth a dollar but I love the app it goes with so...

M70%
by M####:

Only one extra icon shows up... wth? Not worth a dollar.

T70%
by T####:

however, I liked the old circle better! It was easier to see the bar, and looked cleaner. Also, overlay is on top of time, not battery (Galaxy Tab original, Gingerbread, VZ). Refunded... might try again if overlay works or icon is better.

Q70%
by Q####:

The widget is great, but icon puck to tall waste of money, as it dose not overlay stock icon. Can place it pretty much every where on screen corners but not on mortification area... shame.

L70%
by L####:

The overlay icon keep shifting everytime it goes to the lock screen and back. Plus it just doesn't work to have the battery icon overlaying everything on the screen. How do I get a refund?

E70%
by E####:

Other apps struggle with this. GSam does well with covering up the stock battery icon.

Q70%
by Q####:

Thanks. Would rate 5 stars if more were available. Still, it improves visibility on my 7 inch tablet. Btw, the different colors are not options, they are the color of the number which corresponds to a particular percentage number.

A70%
by A####:

Really only gives one extra icon.

Z70%
by Z####:

Shows on notification drawer. Needs additional positioning for S VIEW cover. Fiddly to position horizontally: bad choice of slider controls & jumps a bit. Solid dark background color is only reasonable choice but a mismatch with lock screen & transparent notification bar in launcher. An economical way to repay the dev for an excellent Monitor, though.

Z70%
by Z####:

Sweet App! Samsung Galaxy S4!

R70%
by R####:

Should be included with the Pro version at no additional cost.

L70%
by L####:

I love it, but it soaks up RAM =/

Y70%
by Y####:

It does work as intended but it did jump around some. I have no complaints really. Icons are nice to change around.

Y70%
by Y####:

HI, Since the Android 4.3 upgrade and Icon appears in the notification ares to show the Icon pack is running, this icon can't be turned off without also turning off the overlay. This needs to be address as the single reason to purchase overlay pack was so you didn't need an icon in the notification area. Having an icon you cannot dismiss in the notification area makes the icon pack completely useless.

Y70%
by Y####:

I only use it in the notification bar, so no problems. Now how about a bright purple icon? Pretty please?

D70%
by D####:

Unistalled.
