I have received quite a bit of positive feedback and suggestions as to how to improve this app. I am starting to work on an update that will incorporate much of that feedback. No time frame know as of this time, but will provide the updated app when it is ready....
The Grocery List App provides the basic needs of a grocery shopping list. You add items to your grocery list. As you shop, the items are placed into a shopping cart and your cost and quantity is added to the running total. When you check out and leave the store, the items are placed into your car and the running total is reset.
When you buy an item, you have two options within the App as to how this works. You may simply tap Buy and the items is moved from your list to the shopping cart. You may optionally enter a Cost and Quantity associated with the item. If you opt to take the extra couple of seconds to enter the Cost and Quantity, the App will maintain a running total of the items in your shopping cart.
Once you check out you can Move Bought Items To Car. This action changes the icon beside the items from the shopping cart to the car. It also resets the running total. This is to easily accommodate using one shopping list at multiple stores while keeping the running total meaningful.
To make the running total a little more accurate, the Grocery List App allows the setting of a single sales tax value (in a percent). Our state and local governments have different sales tax rates for different types of items. We simply took a few old grocery receipts and manually averaged the sales tax amount against the totals and came up with a workable percent to enter as the sales tax percent. It has proved to be amazingly accurate.

I love the ability to keep a running total with automatic sales tax, and while the app is very basic, that also makes it simple to use! When I just went to check out at Wal-Mart, they were over charging me more than $10 on a $50 total. Normally I would have assumed the error was mine and freaked out about my blown budget, but this time I could see exactly what items were rung up incorrectly! Will definitely recommend this app.

Love this app. However, to give it five stars it needs some work. I love that I can set the tax rate. But it would be nice to be able to separate food from taxable items. Also, multiple lists would be great. To be able to sort the list would be nice.

nifty concept, essential for the budget or hyper vigilant shopper. smooth implementation, no hiccoughs first run. be super nice if prev. added stores available in spinner from db, default to last used. overall pretty sweet, the math adds up.

Just made my grocery list. 2 things about this app i like already. 1 It can keep a running total of what i spend. 2 It will also give me a total with the tax added. Those 2 things right there make this a keeper. You have a app that is a WINNER in my book. Congrats!

Fantastic grocery app! It's simple and easy to use. If it had the capability to move an item to a different spot or even categories, it would be perfect. Will change to 5 stars if these options become available. It just needs more organization.

I love the fact that you type your grocery list one time and select permanent. When you shop any additional time just insert the price and the item will appear in your grocery cart with a running total. However I would recommend that the column for the grocery list be a bit wider for detailed description item. Thank you for a great grocery list app

Just downloaded this and it looks simple and easy to use.... Unlike some of the other list apps out there.

This is a simple app. It does what I need it to do. I used it to go grocery shopping and it made it easier to know how much I am spending. You can add stuff to your list and it saves so that you always have your list. The only downside is that I had trouble deleting some stuff on the list without buying it, but I figured it out.
