Connecting to WiFi is quirky but I think I found out the issue. When you initially try to connect in point to point mode, you have to disable mobile data on the phone. Once I disabled this I got a connection immediately, then moved it over to my home WiFi with DHCP reservation and has worked well ever since. My only issue is that the calibration max values cannot be adjusted enough, at -20 I'm still 7 away from my calibrated digital temp gauge and 30 away from the max. The food reading however seems to be within +-2 so that's good

Took two RMA controller replacements and a just-released firmware update. Stays connected reasonably well now. Now just silly stuff: alerts that the grill has reached the set temp when the display is still 2 degrees F below the set temp. Math is hard... On the vendor response saying a few degrees doesn't matter: 1. Alert: grill is *almost* at temp. If you really can't wait to tell me the grill is at temp when it isn't. 2. The 2 degree round up affects the food probe as well. So when I'm waiting for the food to hit the desired temp, and the food temp can take several minutes to rise a single degree, your 2 degrees "doesn't matter" starts to fall apart.

The WIFI connection continually stops working...very frustrating when you are halfway through a cook and the connection drops out and will not reconnect...has happened many times. The only way to reconnect is to reset the whole controller and to do this you need to turn off the grill no good halfway through the cook ☹...i will admit when working it is very user friendly...

I tried to setup the app and connect with 4 different android devices. No luck. I setup and connected to my wife's and son's icrap with no problems. I'm not going icrap so I guess I need to keep my wife longer. Sure wished the kinks got worked out on the android app.

Overall I like it and use it. But still no rotated view for my tablet. AND, lately, when my phone screen goes off, wifi connecting to grill is lost. Dunno if that's the app not being updated for Android 7+ "doze" or what, but very annoying.

My phone is connected to the grill's Wi-Fi, but app still doesn't see the grill....on it's own network.

X70%

Used to like the app but, for about 1.5 months, when a profile completes step 1, it just restarts step 1. Unfortunately, this makes profiles completely unusable.

I love the fact that I do not have to sit around and babysit the grill while waiting for it to reach set temp. As well as I don't have to sit around and wait for food to reach desired temp I can be in the house doing other things

I still have to try the app but the people at Green Mountain Grill have been excellent at helping me out getting my grill working again. Thank you!

My phone is connected to the grills Wi-Fi network but the app says it still cannot find the grill. Please help!

Love it so far! Had to reset board after firmware update to get on wifi again but worked great again after.

good app, since adding a wifi range extender it's become much more reliable. there is room for improvement in the app a log or graph with a temperature timeline would be useful.

50/50 shot if it will connect to my phone. Very frustrating..

Works great

Have to mess with it once in a while but after i put in a DHCP reservation for the grill, it works well. So awesome to calibrate the grills temp and everything else. Adjusting grill temp from grocery store when meat stalls was pretty cool

Great app! Works better than any Wi-Fi thermometers I have purchased in the past.

Id give this an -5 starts if possible! So sick of the run-around with support at green mountain! Its a shame that such a great grill has such poor support and management! GMG has ONE guy for WIFI support. Im Sick and tired of ruining meat and wasting pellets trying to figure out this thing. Management should be ashamed of them selves

Great app. Only thing missing is export feature so you can import profiles into other devices. Well done fellas.

The WiFi aspect of this grill is terrible. I have had the grill since Feb 2017 have gotten the WiFi to work maybe 5 times. I also worked with tech support and they had me replace the board, still did not solve the problem. I am pretty tech savvy as I work in the industry. I can tell you that I bought this g roll over your competitors due to the fact that you offered WiFi, but since they now offer the same I am regretting my decision and will probably be switching. Very disappointed.

What happened? Now my grill never stays connected to my Wi-Fi and always says no grill is detected?!? Not helping

Works with the grill. Wifi management is a little flaky and could use some work. Would be great to share cooking profiles and maybe download some from the site. Traeger has a new timberline that has recipes and programs that can be downloaded to their app. That has a great marketability

X70%
by X####:

The Wi-Fi range is too short, the app is well built. Just lacks Wi-Fi range

Latest version installed two weeks ago now has bugs in the timers for the profiles that didn't exist before. Personally built profiles with timer specific steps do not count down. Smoker continues to run past set time. Temp specific steps still seem to work but timers are inoperative. Had no issues until I updated. Now back to not trusting the app to not ruin my cook.

Outstanding grill and the app makes it even better. The only improvement would make the alarm ring longer and louder.

X70%
by X####:

Terrible app and Wi-Fi on grill. Loses connection even with four bars on phone and 4 bars at router to grill. Can't connect to server even when it does connect to my home Wi-Fi. After it fails to connect to server or update firmware then everything needs to be rebooted including grill and phone in order for it to work again.

What good is an app if it constantly disconnects and then cant find a grill on the network? Great concept, beyond horrible execution.

B70%

App now disconnects from grill every time phone screen turns off.

App works for when I'm close, but crashes when I try to go into Wi-Fi (server) mode before I can even put in password

Works great, had no problems. Just wish I could personalize the alarms' sounds. Otherwise, I have definitely recommended it and the grills!

X70%
by X####:

App works great. The only think I would suggest is making a widget available so I can keep the display on my home screen. Also, it would be nice if the low hopper alarm would sound in the app.

X70%

Garbage app. Has never connected. A complete waste of money to buy the Wi-Fi version.

X70%

Never connects. Spent extra on the WiFi grill unfortunately apparently the app doesn't do WiFi. Useless junk app

X70%

It keeps disconnecting from the app can't connect either ... this app needs help

T70%
by T####:

It is convenient but I would still like to be close to the grill.

Q70%
by Q####:

The app is great. Sometimes it disconnects or its just easier to go check the grills display. But if you have the app, you have the grill, lucky you. I have the small one (Davy Crockett) and can do 12 patties at once. More than I ever need for my family. For now. I was told, think of all the pellets grills doing the same thing. Some have better features than others. Buy the feature you like. The WiFi is the reason I chose GMG and am not disappointed.

X70%
by X####:

The app is garbage. The grill is awesome. I've had the grill for about 8 months and in the summer used it about 4 times a week. Even with all the app updates it still has the same issues. It will search for grills on the network, find them and switch from broadcast to whatever mode... Then hang up and find "no grill detected". I can look at my router and see that the grill is connected to the router. Now the app won't connect. I've reset the wireless card on the grill after contacting support. I'm still not having any luck. Love the grill though. Not sure the wireless is worth the extra cost if it doesn't work.

I bought my grill on the advice from friends. Although Traeger products are good, GM products are exceptionally better and a bit less expensive. I really like the quality of the grill body and control panel. I have the wi fi version that allows me to monitor from inside the house.
