PREMIUM version adds an option to schedule regular data trim automatically – no need to launch the app every time.

Attention!
This app should only be used by ADVANCED users! If you do not understand what it does - DO NOT USE IT! You can find fstrim() man in Google and more information on XDA - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104326. RTFM before asking any questions or rating this app bad!

Some Android users suffer from poor performance after some days/weeks of heavy usage. This is due to a well-known TRIM bug affecting these devices (users report Nexus devices, Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X devices are affected). Kernels with -discard mount option are NOT affected!

The source of the problem is that internal storage is not properly TRIMmed when needed. You can find lots of information on XDA - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971852 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929021 It is also well-known fact that running fstrim Linux tool from time to time fixes the issue until internal memory runs out of free blocks. Other solutions like mounting with -discard or disabling fsync may be slow or dangerous.

LagFix is a user-friendly implementation of fstrim utility. It allows you to select which partitions to trim (you should leave defaults unless you know what you are doing) and run the process easily. Scheduled auto-trim is also available.

Please note that fstrim output depends on kernel and device. It works fine unless you see errors. You might see big amounts of bytes, zero amount or repeating amount. All are fine! Read fstrim manual to understand why all these outputs are valid.

Keep in mind that this app is designed for older devices and OS versions; if you device is not affected by trimming, it might already be implemented in the system.

Nexus 7 2012 is a laging scam by Asus and Google. This is an app that dont solves lag. Perfect.

My galaxy nexus was almost unbearable to use. Apps took forever to open and even my keyboard hung while texting. I wanted to blame updates but this app proved otherwise. Not only is my phone fast again (for a galaxy nexus) but... MY BATTERY LIFE DOUBLED!! Easy to use just wish there was an indicator to say it's working while it's doing its thing. Only takes a few minutes but when your used to your phone hanging all the time, the first use leaves you wanting to abort and reboot. Highly recommended!

Make sure this will work on your device before buying as it will only work on certain devices. I have an N7 so it works great for me. Not sure if it's possible, but a widget with a configurable one tap run would be great for ad hoc trims. Great work dev and thanks.

Seems Android 4.3 finally implemented fstrim, so no longer need a separate app for this. Good run while it lasted.

Don't download Doesn't work in android lollipop

Fixed a lag issue on my CM10.1 Nook HD+. Speeds up keyboard, app switching, new tabs in chrome and much more... Now I can use my tablet as I want.

Root and busybox available. # fstrim -v /data error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported. It was working on old android, same phone. Another app is working: Trimmer (fstream) ..any have same issue go and grab it

X70%
by X####:

This app doesn't support Lollipop due to a new security feature introduced (PIE). I believe the developer could resolve this pretty easily, but in the meantime I managed to resolve my lag issues using the following steps. ============================================================== Please note that I will not be held responsible for any damage you may cause to your device. Proceed at your own risk. ============================================================== *Install Busybox *Install a terminal emulator *Issue the following commands using terminal (separated by '|' enter these commands separately): su | fstrim -v /data | fstrim -v /cache ..That's it. If you want this to run at regular intervals you can set up Tasker to issue these commands on a schedule for the same effect.

Used to work on this device, now with recent software updates it hasn't been and I have been using another third party app. I know that the system is supposed to do it on its own ever since 4.3 but these apps that run trim commands come in handy when doing large file operations and you don't want to wait for your device to decide it is ready to do maintenance. Not rating lower because it still works on another of my devices, just frustrated that I had to switch apps on this device.

X70%
by X####:

I have been using this for awhile on the Nexus 7 with KitKat and it works great. Just installed and rooted Lollipop but can't run trim. Maybe it's no longer needed? Anyway, I'll check back to see if it gets an update for Lollipop compatibility.

Gnex owner suffering this issue for a few months now. Finally decided to investigate and found this gem. Yes I could probably setup a cronjob myself but what's a dollar for the convenience?

X70%

Droid razr maxx. I think androids are engineered to die after a year. Factory reset and my phone was still junk. Root and this app gave a big improvement. I wish the schedule would allow multiple auto runs a day.

X70%
by X####:

Rooted my phone just to use this app. If you are familiar with TRIM on SSD drives that is basically what this is - garbage collection for your phone's storage. After running this app my nearly two year old Verizon Galaxy Nexus went from being a laggy mess to performing like new.

X70%
by X####:

I've been using this since it came out, now lollipop has dropped and no support. A dollar well spent for what I get for free with Trimmer. Thanks.

Worked good up to android 4.4.4. Doesn't work with 5.0 lollipop, still waiting for update. 3/25 still no update.

I installed it on my phone first, the easiest device that is always in my pocket. It worked fantastic, phone appeared like new, smooth and butter soft. So immediately paid for premium version, then would be installing on the rest of the devices. My critical one is the android TV box, love it but lags. Problem is cannot get a custom recovery for it, tried this app, and black screen, luckily it worked afterwards.

I have a Galaxy Nexus, and a Nexus 7. They are both performing much better than before. My N7 especially. I am very happy. Read XDA before using! GNex (cm10.2) N7 (AOKP milestone 2). Both are 4.2.2 ROMs. Good work Dev!

G70%
by G####:

Used to work great on 5.0 but not on 5.1.1 and the developer doesn't seem to think it's important to update something that users purchased as a premium app. The trim does work with other apps available on market, so it's just the lack of interest from the developer updating the app.

Doesn't work with Lollipop. Please fix. FSTRIMMER works but doesn't schedule. Need scheduler.

I constantly install new apps (currently near 400). 1st time I used lag fix, I noticed my Note 2 was snappy again. Until the Note 2 gets 4.3 ota, lagfix is the answer

I've been using this since it came out and since the Lollipop update on my Shield Tablet yesterday, this no longer works and is a LIFE saver on this tablet...will there be an update? Still 5 stars for me though cause every other device I own accepts trim! Thanks for this!

My Galaxy Nexus was really lagging and now seems fine. I'm not brave enough to TRIM the system data though but it seems to work with standard settings.

Fixes lag superbly. I set it to run every night because i want to enjoy my Galaxy S3 as much as I can.

Z70%

the latest version of Android supposedly does this by default, but my device was lagging massively after nearly running out of storage, but this fixed it - highly recommend. Note if it says trim not supported the first time you use it (because it doesn't wait for root user confirmation), try clearing the app data and restarting the app

Didn't quite believe it until I saw it. My Galaxy Nexus (4.2.1 stock takju image, rooted) had been getting slower and slower to the point where there was a 5 second pause whenever going to the stock launcher. Ran this once and it's like the phone is brand new again! Definitely worth the money (even though there's a free version).

The lagging on my GNex was getting really bad, and this has eliminated it almost completely. The only problem with this app is it will stop running if you use other apps while this is working. And then you have to restart. It's a minor inconvenience for a drastic improvement to my phone's performance though.

Z70%

That after running this application I did gain a boost of performance. Thank you. I bought the app outright without even testing the lite version because of other reviewers and their positive responses.

Note the latest version of Android just announced with the new nexus 7 supports trim by default but not at configurable intervals, so this app still has some use, especially ofc for devices that aren't updated
