TCP Lighting for Android
Bought it on clearance. So my expectations weren't high. Got home connected it in seconds. Works perfectly fine. Never tried to use the app away from home because i shut my lights off before i leave. Half the time I forget about the app anyways. As a novelty the lights are pretty cool. Ten years ago things like this didnt exist to the average consumer. Its really cool to be able to control your light using your phone.
Used to work great, now only works while I'm on my wifi network. Remote function is dead, lowered my review from a 5* to a 2*. The app doesn't even recognize username and password. Timers still work so I kept it at 2* otherwise they'd get a 1*.
Bought a couple years ago work great referred to family and friends. Then TCP left us holding the bag with no support for product and no remote service or browser control, that's not what we paid for. They are a horrible company.
Have had bulbs for a while and even though the apps suck it was at least working. Today though, nothing. Didn't touch anytjing, no update that I know of, just stopped working. Won't connect to device so I have no way of controlling them at all.
1.3 minutes into this and I am already pissed off. I'm currently in a setup loop with absolutely no way past logging in or registering. No wonder it was on the clearance rack at H. Depot
The company suddenly stopped the ability to control their TCP lighting lights over the internet. Beyond not having the ability to do that, the fact that the company would suddenly discontinue the function for all of us who had bought their product for that capability shows a total disregard for consumers. The company has done all of us a disservice.
Since they stopped their remote functionality and support of this app as of May 2016 the automatic timers no longer work. This app is no better than a dimmer light switch now. Thanks TCP for giving all your customers the finger.
I spent a lot of money on these bulbs and was able to use them and the app as they were initially intended for a short period of time. Now they are pretty useless. No longer can you set up any smart controls like you could before. No longer can you operate the lights unless you're connected to your WiFi. And to top it all off, now you can't control these bulbs with your Amazon Echo. I wish I would have known all of this before I invested so much money into all of these light bulbs.
Doesn't find gateway. Website from TCP shows no help in this situation. Absolutely useless without being able to use the app to connect.
Do not waste your money on this company or their products. They have no customer support. The lights now do not work unless you are in the house and on wifi.
Bought the wifi bulbs. This worked a few months now I cannot turn on or off via my smartphone.when I'm away from home. Really can't be bothered to reset it over and over again
When I first bought it, the lights and app worked fine for maybe 2 weeks. Now nothing works. Lights are on but app says off, motion doesn't work, control settings have never worked and won't work at all away from home. Was not worth the money.
They are either going under or the new upgrade crapped the app. I cant login, I can't retrieve password, not even a website
TCP sold their Connected bulbs by advertising they could be turned on and off from anywhere in the world. Then they took away that ability. What a bunch of assholes
The lights used to be great. But the hub stopped talking to web and remote access stopped. Finally the timing of the lights stopped. TCP customer service tell me that greenwave have stopped the network service as the reason for no remote. Also the wifi access will stop shortly. They recommend me to return to where i bought them from for a refund, which they did (homebase in the uk). The app was always a little flaky, but usually worked okay to control. Shame i liked thes and had 12 lamps and 3 remotes...
TCP has abandoned this product and its customers. Buyer beware, do not trust this company. Half of its functionality has been taken away with no warning, no refunds.
Not reliable, If you Read, Do not waste your Money, is Junk system, I waste my money and Time worse ever, You on your own Riskkkkk. This Company Shut Down their Website to control Lights, Do not Buy this Equipment. I wasted my money I Regret this Lights. App Does Not work either, I Regret this Lights. Your own Riskkkkk. TCP Lightning Disable the option to On & Off from 3-4G Network in app. I Regret to spend money on this lighting.
Any company that thinks they are going to go it alone making smart home products, removing compatibility/support from other platforms(SmartThings), is a sinking ship. I'm glad I still have the boxes and receipt. FYI, all of my MANY other bulbs, switches, and other devices continue to function as they did the day I purchased them. TCP is the only product who's functionality regressed into the dumb home market. Have fun singing "This little light of mine" by yourself.
As an update to my previous reviews, TCP lighting has crossed the line from bad to absolute garbage. All connectivity with other smart home system like wink has been shut off, the lights on their own software are little more than a novelty. I frankly think anyone who ever bought these products deserves an apology card from TCP green wave that contains a picture of someone on their team getting punched in the face. A small thing to ask for all of us who spent hundreds of dollars on now worthless trash.
Works though app launch a little slow, all was fine until they pulled the cloud service that allows light control remotely when not on home network.
Update: It would appear TCP has terminated their cloud service so remote control no longer functions. I would avoid this at all costs. ******* Since one of the more recent updates, the application has crawled and can be barely usable at times. It's not very useful to have to wait 15 seconds to turn on/off lights. It might help if the app cached the last known configuration rather than rediscovering the gateway every single time the app starts. Additionally, as others have stated there is an issue with the internal clock (I don't know if this is an app problem, or firmware on the gateway) and there is no way to set it/correct it. Timers go off hours after they are supposed to. This app was barebones when it was working, and was never that exceptional, but now it's completely broken and worthless. This product has become a tremendous disappointment.
It worked well for 6 months then stopped working completely and now it is back to work for local on WiFi only. I could not log in my account to remotely control the lights. Many times I tried to log in my account . It always shown up like these << user name or password is incorrect >> or << username or password does not match out record >> Please help me out to solve this. Thanks Developer!
My lights still work on wifi connection to gateway but timers no longer function. This was the whole reason for my purchase in the first place. What is the point of buying smart LED bulbs that "will last 10 years" if they're not even supported for 5?
Sorry about your luck but TCP has no to little customer support and their product works 50% of the time if at all after updates. After being frustrated with this product for a year in hopes of it being fixed I am switching to Philips Hue. I hear TCP has been sued over thier product and rightfully so. Run and return your TCP now before you can't.
There should be a buyback of all bulbs if TCP discontinues the service. A complete waste of money and false.advertising. Worked fine when service was up.
Intrusive app. Use the API and find a way to use it locally instead.
Product has been discontinued and is no longer supported by the company. If you just bought them return immediately for refund.
But it no longer works, won't turn the lights on and off on a schedule, cannot be used remotely (I bought their products to control the lights at our vacation cottage) and their expensive smart products, still available, are no longer supported. This must be a Donald Trump business.
I could not get it to setup. Don't waste your money on this junk.
The system worked great until they ended support for the connect system.
So far I cant delegate individual control to any rooms. I can only control the full house. Lots of issues with the app
Bought it, never worked, tomorrow take it back for refund. Bad reputation for producer and merchandiser too. Don't bother to buy or download this crap.
I've had my lights for 2+ years, and they are still running fine. I tend to use the Wink App and Tasker to control everything now, rather then this app, but it's still needed to install new TCP connected lights of which I like the Daylight version the most. The app responds much quicker then Wink for turning on and off lights, but lack of Tasker access or any 3rd party access to help automate leaves me to rely on Wink and its slower response.
The software is a little clunky but does the job. Just wish there were more bulb options i would love to see gu10 bulbs and switchable colour temperature with the same bulb (cool white and warm white)
I hit off to all lights and by morning, mostly in my living room lights are on.
Essentially two bulbs for £35 - the rest does not work. Return it to the store.
My lights are great..the app ok. The bulbs are great!! A smoother app would be nice. A unexpected plus; the widget works well on my smartwatch.
Horrible. Both initial bulbs connect just fine. All others after that are unable to be discovered. Not to mention the slow and clunky app. Tried every troubleshooting method I could find. Nothing. No wonder this thing was 75% off. Do NOT get this.
I have 8 lights and the Gateway unit connected to them...Well sometimes anyways. These aren't cheap lights and if they sell them to the consumer I expect them (the lights) to work seamlessly. Do something about it please guys.

Works at home and away both on S4 phone and Nexus 7 tab. If they add a "log" for auto and manual changes it would be perfect! UPDATE: 7/6/16 BRICKED BY TCP!! Without warning they dropped internet control, offering no explanation except "changes in IoT" No refunds for all the product we purchased. Take the money and run.
