Muslim Scholars & Companions is the most extensive, interactive and up-to-date Muslim Scholar Database.
This work is an effort to collect, compile and store (electronically, in one place) authentic information about Muslim scholars since the advent of Islam more than 1400 years ago.
Features:
• It include brief inter-linked biographies of Muslim scholars since the time of Companions of Prophet Muhammad (صلّی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلّم), arranged by century (AH) and areas of interest.
• It also include all known companions (Sahaba, RA), famous Successors (Taba'een), their Followers (Taba' Taba'een) and later scholars including all known hadith narrators.
• Tags are used for easy grouping/searching/Events (like Abyssinia, Aqaba, Badr).
• Suggest as you type (the companion names).
• Different variations of name and kunya for a particular narrator/scholar are captured.
• Known family members (parents, siblings, spouses, children) are also recorded.
• Information like date of birth/death, places of stay, teacher and student list and narrator grade/rank provide useful details about hadeeth narrators.[More..]
• Student of hadeeth sciences can greatly benefit in the field of 'ilm al-rijal (knowledge of men/authorities), tabqat al-ruwat (classes of narrators) and al-jarh wa'l-ta'dil (impugnment & validation).

Very limited data available. Data is inaccurate too. And there's fairly limited number of scholars for example there's no data regarding Hazrat Nua'ym bin Hammad, Sayyedna Abdul Khader etc

Good app. But Imam Abu Hanifah RA is written as not thiqah, I'll keep husn e dhan and assume that it's mere mistake. Hope they rectify this type of mistakes i.a. May Allah reward everyone putting sincere efforts to true spread kbowledge of deen.

Many great ulema are missing. how could you miss them? I can't find Hassan Al-Basri nor can I find Jaffar As-sadiq Rehimullah... plus there is no A-Z list ... and English spellings can vary so it is difficult to just search. The app is rather vague as respect to which ulema have been chosen and what criteria has been used to choose them. And why others have been left out. Please state your criteria and definition of "scholar" esp since you've left out Imam Ghazali and Sheikh Jami Rehimullah

Good try. One problem, I hope everyone noticed that, no darood upon mentioning Rasulullah sallallahu alalihi wasallam's name!! It's a disrespect, we know that non muslims call him like this. Whilst not all information is complete in all of the biographies this is still the best app for brief information. Until Siyar and Tareekh and similar books are translated this app will be incredibly useful.

*/PLEASE VERY URGENT/* I understand that you are using someone else's database, but please add the following entries: 1. Abul-Fida Isma'il *Ibn Kathir* (Author of Tafsir Ibn Kathir) 2. Hasan Basri 3. The REAL Imam Ghazali 4. Imam Jafar Sadiq and the 12 Imams for our Shia brothers. Also, I am not able to search within the 'separately stored Arabic resources in the main database'. Please Fix This. It would be very good if you can provide a good biography for at least the famous individuals. Most of the biographies are incomplete (e.g Salman Farsi) or non-existent (e.g. Prophet Muhammad). A good example is the biography of Imam Nasa'i (already included in the app) which is detailed. Perhaps use another database or Wikipedia for this. Finally, please add (SAW) logo after Prophet's name like in your Hadith app rather than just writing (SAW).
