AMA Road Reporter for Android
Love the app. Just wish you could say what exactly the road conditions are
This Ama Road Reporter is not user friendly. When it knows my location and loads at Calgary every time I open the app. Thats just stupid. I old app actually worked!
The traffic cameras won't load on my Samsung s5. Is there an issue for this?
Can't enter destination. Uninstalled and reinstalled, but it doesn't load.
Couldn't GPS my destination and asked me to enter the address, even though I actually did enter it manually. Entered the same address into Google maps and it found on the spot so it's not my phone. Useless app. Shame, the route saving and advanced route features sounded awesome. But broken app with good features is still useless.
Pulls up road conditions all right. Navigation looks good. But it's either incompatible with my Moto G4+ or my Mitsubishi. While driving it causes random "Anonymous" phone calls to appear on my stereo system.
A suggestion; Google maps used to allow for recent pings on GPS location data allowing for a remote user to check an estimation of family and friends location, if they have stopped and eta if a destination is entered
There is absolutely no information on the northern road conditions, just tells me there's road construction.
Good idea, seemed to work fine on a Nexus 6. Needs some improvement still, some ideas: 1. you seem to have to define two different routes, one to go somewhere and a second to return. It would be better to just define one route and then be able to specify the direction. 2. drive mode wastes a lot of space, it should display arrival time (ETA), time remaining AND distance to go ALL the time. There is no need to keep cycling between ETA, time left and "monitoring traffic ahead". It should never have to save "monitoring traffic ahead" that's what we expect it is doing all the time. 3. when an alert comes in it should include an approximate location of the trouble and/or time and distance to reach the issue. 4. rather than having alerts just appear and then disappear, why not add them to a list underneath the ETA area? This list would be sorted by distance to the issues, so the closest ones are at the top. Once you pass the issue they would be removed from the list. Another way of doing this would be to just show the first (closest) issue and then swipe right to see the details of all the issues.
Route planning is questionable. Browsing the map is difficult as it constantly focuses on my current location. Disappointing and I'm an AMA member...
This is an awful app. Doesnt even have up to date info :(
Crashed phone. App created a stupid route which I could not delete. Uninstall.
Navigation gives 3 route options. Route 1 seems to be the most direct route. The other 2 options seem to be the longest possible routes making this app navigation totally useless. The only good thing about it is seeing any delays ahead where you can alter your route without using navigation. Would not be something to use in an unfamiliar city. Not totally useless, but needs a lot of improvement.
Says google play services are updating
Although this app sounds great, when I launch it, it gets stuck in a loop. It flips rapidly from "AMA road reports" to the screen I'm supposed to select an option from. I would be will to try again if I could get it to work.
Would be nice if it auto rotates the screen
Always use this app when I am traveling!
But...
Keeps asking to turn on GPS, even though it's already on. Will search for location for a second, then stop and ask to enable it again, though that does nothing. Android 4.4.2.
Google Nav shows ten minute delay on my normal route thought I would check conditions with this. Won't let me check alerts on my route, keeps refocusing to my location... Ok. Suggests I take a route through downtown on a Friday rush hour... Ok maybe knows something I don't know. Nope. Predicts 20 mins, takes 35. Doesn't seem to take TRAFFIC lights into account. Well if its route prediction is bad and it won't let me look at accidents and alerts in map view them it is just wasting my time.
Works very well on my iPhone in my 2015 Kia Forte, but the Android version, on my Moto G running Lollipop 5.1 does not give me any sound. The app "phones" me through Bluetooth like it does on iOS, but there is no sound, no matter how much I turn up the sound. Not sure if this is an issue with the phone......the car......the app.....or a combination of all three. The app itself seems to work to see traffic maps, but it is of little use I can't use it while driving.
Won't find obvious routes on Nexus 5 Marshmallow. The road reports seem to work though.
Every time an alert announcement occurs, and I am on Bluetooth, I after the announcement is over, my Bluetooth headset disconnects from the phone and I have to manually reconnect. This is happening on BlackBerry Priv. Please fix as it is annoying particularly if you are on the phone with someone!
Crashed phone. App created a stupid route which I could not delete. Uninstall.
Best way to travel
I really like it!
So cool. About time!
Massive battery hog.
First time I ran it it crashed. Now it always gives me an error trying to load alerts. If I can't see alerts I see no use for this app. Might try again if a new version comes out.
★☆It worked once & now when I open it up, it freezes or broken!?! Don't know what went wrong so going 2 Uninstal it & then reinstall!?! If that doesn't work then..... ☆20150818 ~ Just reinstalled & we will see if it works any better now!?! ☆NOPE, NIL, NOT, NOTHIN!?!?! ~~~ It opens to the instruction pg & F R E E Z E S !?! THE APP IS FUCKED!?! Very Disappointed with this program from AMA.....
High battery use, massive data use, and the map doesn't centre on my location. It automatically centres on Calgary no matter where I am.
I have used this for 3 weeks now. It works awesome, an excellent app thanks for your help with traffic.
Traffic reports didn't seem to relevant to my route. Data hog. About 1 mb /min not good. Placement of my progress not even close to reality.
Died the first instant i started using it
This app allows me to shave time on my commute to work. Superb app with incredibly accurate data!
Popped up splash screen with sponsors. Nothing else happened. Clicked, swiped, waited. Nothing. So....staring at a splash screen is supposed to help avoid traffic? I think using a crystal ball will be just as helpful. At least you expect nothing out of a crystal ball.
Nothing but a splash screen on my s5 active. Fastest install/uninstall I've ever come.
I was looking forward to this app. When it launches, I get the 'Unfortunately, the app has stopped working' message and it closes. Using Android version 4.4.2 on Samsung Galaxy 4s. Tried reinstalling and restarting. No change.
★☆Ahhhh.....?!?

This needs to show when a road was last reported. If it's been 6 hours since the last report chances are it has changed. Also having the report vocalized is a nice touch but it would be better served as a list.
