About Intonatio lite

Intonatio is a mobile app designed to help you improve your intonation. The app provides you with a series of exercises and games in which concentration, hearing and memory are essential. To improve our sense of pitch, it is important for us to experience and recall sensations, both while we’re playing and when we’re listening without playing.
Intonatio has 3 main sections: lessons, games and audio.

Lessons and Games:
-In tune, sharp or flat.
-Unison in tune.
-In tune with the chord.

In the “Audio” section, the musician can select the desired tuning (A-440, 442 or 445) and choose between major or minor chords in various keys to practice tone and tuning exercises (sustained notes, arpeggios, intervals, etc.) accompanied by the audio clips. By hooking the mobile device up to a set of speakers, users can even practice playing as if to the accompaniment of a piano.

This is the best of the apps I've discovered for training the ear to detect notes sharp or flat by less than a half step. I'd give it five stars if the interface were a little easier: it's troublesome to have to hit the "Answer" button after each response, which shouldn't be so far from the answer checkboxes and needs to be a bigger. The "Next exercise" arrow is also tiny and annoying to press, even on my 7" tablet. Otherwise the audio samples are superb and the exercises are of sufficient difficulty.
