Now Playing History for Android
Does exactly what it says. Takes the neat "now playing" feature and makes it into something actually very useful, especially if you're terrible with song names like me. Especially great for when you hear a song you love but can't check the name and record it somewhere at the time.
Installed this app on my Pixel 2 XL but doesn't seem to work. Tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app but to no avail. Would love some assistance
Love it! Just wish it supported Adaptive Icons, and that it had some sort of cloud backup system! EDIT: An update was just released with everything I asked for, so now it's perfect ????
Awesome app! I emailed the dev asking if he was planning to add lastfm scrobbling support, and 2 days later it's implemented!
Logs Now Playing, opens Google Music for me. Simple and direct. Awesome companion app.
Awesome! Wonder why Google didn't do this in the first place.
Perfect now it works with Amazon Music. Small bug though, it only works with Amazon Music after I select it as the music app in the settings, until you do this it still just launches the app without finding the track
This is great; thank you! It would be nice to be able to export the history too--just in case. A Google Drive backup option would be even cooler! EDIT: Nevermind! As the dev points out, you can already do this!
Great app, however I have to switch tabs to get the list of tracks to refresh, after I open the app. If the app refreshed every time you opened it, would be perfect. Edit: works perfect with update
Great and much-needed app! Location where each song was heard would be really nice though.
Nice app! Maybe you can add the location to where the song was recognized.
Not working, I understand installed and reinstalled and rebooted as suggested. No history is over recorded.
Sometimes it doesn't refresh the list of songs until the app is restarted. Some songs are very specifically titled and aren't found by Spotify even though the song actually us on Spotify. Other than that, great app
Great app. Nice addition with the dark theme... can you make the YouTube option to automatically go to the first video found (add an option for this in the app)?
Just what I was looking for! A must have for Pixel 2 users!
Great app. Like seeing what songs out phone heard after I get home.
Not working on my Pixel XL. I enabled the notification and did a reboot. Seems to be working for most people and would love to have it on my device.
Does exactly what the app stated. Excellent in logging all music your P2XL captures.
Works as advertised
Excellent app that does what Now Playing should have done to begin with!
This seemed to work great the first day and then it hasn't captured anything since that day. It has full permissions and the right services are on, so I'm a bit perplexed. If it has captured anything new then it's not showing in the app correctly. Just disappointing after the other great reviews. Update: After restarting the device, the app now works correctly. However, I shouldn't have to restart the phone to fix a background service. I would love the addition of automatic syncing to Spotify for songs I star or when it picks up a new one.
App doesn't work on my pixel 2 xl. I have enabled access to notifications. Maybe it has something to do with system language? Edit: now it works flawlessly!
Amazing job. Google dropped the ball not officially offering this. But Dev has done a great job. Highly recommended.
Awesome app, great work! Now it lists 150 songs which is much better... Thanks so much!!
Does exactly what I need it to do in a materialistic way!
Not working with Amazon music, it just opening Amazon music app and nothing shows related to song. Only 3 stars until it get fixed.
When I select the songs it now starts a radio station from Play Music rather than taking me to the song directly.
After reboot worked as stated.
Works most of the time hoping they keep improving it
Really like the concept. Selecting Amazon as default player doesn't work though. Just brings up a blank, black screen. Woul be great if there was a way to delete duplicates.
Great app although not sure why Google doesn't do this... Can you make it save the list to my Google drive or Google Keep please.
Not the best UI or color scheme but it works!
Only works intermittently on my 2XL. The Majority of songs didn't get added to history even when Now Playing correctly identified them. List will only update if I go into settings and then back to history tab. Love the concept, look forward to seeing if the kinks get worked out. Thanks for your efforts and for making it available.
Just what I was looking for. My Pixel 2 XL arrived today and after setup the first thing I did was install this app. I like making monthly playlists of music. This will make this so much easier. Google Play Music support works great. I could not be more happier with this app!
Great idea. There's a bug in the current version with pixel 2 where the app will crash if you enter search text then switch tabs. Tabs shouldn't be present in search IMO
This app is simply great. Simple interface that does exactly what it advertises and nothing more. The bottom bar with History/Settings doesn't need to be there because the settings menu should be in the overflow actions menu. This would clean up the interface even more! An OPTIONAL feature to track the location that the track was heard could be nice. Needs to be optional (and OFF by default!) since most people might not want a history of where they were.
Works great! Dev has taken feedback and added several improvements and features in a short time. The best purchase I've made since Reddit Is Fun.
Good app. Only thing is the capture doesn't seem like it's following my phone's timezone.
Super useful, especially for the drive to and from work in the car. Recently updated to include the option to link to the Google Play Store!

Adds music all the time because I've noticed that pixel 2 is listening all the time, not just when it's idle. Gets the album art too! Tapping on a song in the list starts it! Pretty good and thank you. Done something Google forgot
