About FitTap

Do you want to harness the full power of personal analytics using your Fitbit®, but don't have the time to log recurring activties, such as your morning jog, or drinking a bottle of water? Enter FitTap, a solution that lets you log activities, food & water intake, sleep, and weight changes simply by scanning custom NFC-tags with your NFC-enabled smartphone!

This solution easily integrates with your life's flow: Rather than having to use a mobile app or website, you simply stick a tag onto your gym bag, reusable water bottle, or fridge to log recurring activities like your daily trip to the gym or water intake. Start by downloading the free app, then buy some tags (sold as kits of 5, 10, or 15 to fit your needs for as little as $14.99, including worldwide free shipping) from our website ( http://www.fittap.it ) or from within the app. If you already own blank NFC tags and don't want to purchase our custom-made tags, you can buy the "pro"-version of the app, which works with most existing NFC tags (e.g. MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE Ultralight C, NTAG203, ICODE SLI/-S, MIFARE Classik 1k/4k, MIFARE DESFire): http://goo.gl/us7NS

Once you scan a tag for the first time, the app will ask you to associate a certain activity with this tag, such as "Drank 1 bottle of water", or "Jogging, 30 minutes". The next time you tap this tag to your phone, it will automatically log the pre-set activity for you and synchronize with FitBit®, you don't even have to launch the app! You can easily reassign the purpose of the individual tags at any time, without having to buy new ones.

Finally got around to buying the tags and they are very easy to set up! They scan without having to open the app up as well, which is nice! Adds info immediately to the fitbit app and is reliable for that. May I request an option in sleep where you can scan a tag to let fitbit know you've woken up? That would be very useful

That's the only payment option? Really?

N70%

Not very good if you have to pay for everything

The app used to work fine when it was free. But now, even with the Pro version, it doesn't recognise my tags. I'd be happy to pay for the app if it supported the tags it used to support.

S70%
by S####:

After installing the app on my S2, I ran ito a few bugs. Nick worked with me for days until we came up with a solution to the issues I was having. Every app should have this level of support. Must have app for FitBit users! It DOES NOT require that you use their tags. You can use any tag for those who are whining about that. Because of the level of support though, I will buy their tags in the future!

K70%

For those of you complaining that it only works with their NFC tags - you're using the wrong app. They have a different app that allows you to use any NFC tag.

Didn't work with my own tags. Tried on two devices.

It seems a bit greedy of them to allow only their own overpriced tags with the free app. They charge fifteen bucks for five tags. Go on Amazon and you can score 11 tags plus a nifty nfc keychain for only 14 bucks, with free prime shipping. They also don't let you see what tags you can make until you buy the full version of the app. So the free version does nothing. Negating the while point of having a free version of an app (letting people try it out).

Cool concept. Works well with the tags. My only gripe is that you can't scan tags when the phone is locked/screen off. Other than that it's great!

I normally don't post app reviews however, felt compelled to in this case for a few reasons. I initially attempted to utilize some tags that I already had and could not get the app to recognize them. The Dev was very helpful, friendly, and responsive. Once you understand how the app works, it's really a very simple but brilliant concept. The app is very intuitive and user friendly. I feel this is a great addition to the FitBit platform. I can see myself being more successful with my tracking now that I am able to automate a lot of the mundane entries I would usually skip due to laziness or inconvenience (e.g., H20 intake). Thanks Great Bytes and KUDOS Nick!

Very cool, I like it mostly for water bottles. I guess you could eventually tag all your food with this lol.. even though it might be a little too overkill ;) Works really well, support is lightning fast. You can actually use standard NFC Tags, but need to add something to make them work. Dev told me he will update the app page to let us know.

I've got piles of writable NFC tags at home, and the app can't use them. It seems that they will only read tags pre-written in their format.

If the only reason for this app is to sell "custom" NFC tags at an exaggerated price, then please say so.
