About GrazeRSS

An offline news client with a rich history to draw from. Based on the amazing NewsRob, GrazeRSS continues in a tradition of clean, easy to use news reading wherever you may be.

* Full offline reading

* Per-feed selection of content to download (Text, Images, Simplified Webpage, Full Webpage)

* Many options for scheduling

* Locale/Tasker integration

* Integration with Newsblur, The Old Reader, and Feedly

* Open Source. https://github.com/travistabbal/GrazeRSS

Please note that Newsblur doesn't support syncing Pinned articles, and The Old Reader doesn't support Starred or Pinned. This is due to limitations in the APIs that will hopefully be resolved in time.

I sent a report. Crashes immediately on startup

This is the app that hooked me on android and Travis did amazing work getting it to transition off poor, murdered google reader.

Finally! A great way to keep up with multiple sites that doesn't take forever. Only two suggestions: 1) Have "undo" option for when you mark an article read. Sometimes I want to keep them around after having read (but not starring). Check out Todoist for the feature implementation. It just flashes for a second or two (or Gmail for that matter). 2) Webpages are not reflowing text properly. Those would definitely move me to a 5 star review! Cheers, Kermit

Ad-free reliable, free synchronisation with feedly. But the interface need an update it look like Gingerbread app!

Love this app but.. Where is the setting button?

And I can't view my subscriptions list.

The UI is really not optimal, you need to tweak feeds *a lot* until you achieve at least some usable page presentation, it's not being developed. However, it is the best RSS reader I've found that a) can pull from Feedly b) is really lightweight c) can download articles for offline viewing d) is open source.

Awesome features. Offline syncing, storage, and can be set to auto update on wifi.

I dropped feedly's android app for this, because feedly wasn't as good as the old newsrob, and this (gazerss) is newsrob with enhancements. Thanks devs!

I was using newsrob oss beta 11 till today, when I stumbled across this. Glad to see this app finally hit Google play. New name same great function. Thank you. *Still the best*

Q70%

Would be 5* if it can automatically mark articles as Read as one swipes through them in the Article List! This is a requisite in any other news app!

Actually using with feedly and works good! Would it be possible to have Inoreader support?

For those familiar with NewsRob , GrazeRSS is the open source followup as a result of Google Reader shutting down in July 2013. To those who loved and used News Rob, here is its reincarnation.

But currently broken in Android L as someone else points out. Crashes on start up (3 error reports) on Nexus 5.

Newsrob and Google Reader were sadly mourned. But from the flames rises another phoenix - and it's better than ever. Full offline support, Tasker integration, and a slick efficient reading platform. There just isn't another RSS reader on Android that can compare.

I am very happy to have the new newsrob. I missed it a lot. Thanks a lot for bringing it back up with newsblur now. Cool This thing is as good as ever.

Love this app and all it has done for me. I use it daily and with the newsblur integration complete, the transition from GR has been relatively painless.

This is by far the best RSS reader I have use since NewsRob. Thanks to Mariano & Travis for this great app

S70%

One of my most used apps. I used gReader *because* of this sop's predecessor, NewsRob, not the other way around. I feel the same about this app and moved to NewsBlur *just* so I could us it.

S70%

The inmense NewsRob, open sourced: incredible offline downloading, syncs with NewsBlur... I spend two hours daily on this, I'd give it eight stars.

A70%

Works really well - I used Newsrob before with Google Reader, and this (together with Newsblur) is a very good successor. Thanks to Travis and Mariano for creating this simple, clean and useful app!

The interface may not be pretty for some, but it is the functionality I really value and this has almost everything I need. I also find it very light on resources, which is important for those who are still using older phones. The only drawback saw after using for a week is the lack of swipe gesture for going to next and previous articles.

N70%
by N####:

I was pretty excited to see an RSS reader based on Newsrob. Sadly, the app is hanging when receiving any articles from TOR, so right now it's completely non-functional for me.

Glad to see newsrob lives. Works very well.

As someone else mentioned, I have also been looking for an rss / feedly replacement for NewsRob that provides per feed notification. This fits the bill perfectly! Great job! Also look forward to swipe gesture to navigate through articles. Keep up the great work!
