Submissions for BJJ & MMA for Android
Although, after every demo when the option to choose to watch the keys to the technique learned, the option menu stays on the screen while the video plays, and when I try to remove it, it ends up stopping the video all together. I'm a mega fan of these apps. Please update.
Kesting puts out great products but I tried downloading twice and files still won't play. Can this be fixed?
Been waiting along time for this app on android and it didn't disappoint. Well structured and tons of information (hence the 500mb) on techniques in a step by step manner.downloaded quickly on wifi and i have had no issues launching any videos. Thanks Stephan for all invaluable information you have laid out on this app and on grapplearts
A good showing of high percentage techniques broken down well into easy to access chapters. Highly recommended.
very well made, easy to understand (includes specific details that usually the reason certain techniques fails) tons of information, worth the buy.
Love the app! Super clear and enjoyable to watch. I love the quality of movement shown. Agree with some of the other comments though - it would be great if I could store it on my sd card.
Very useful for me as a BJJ beginner! Videos are high quality, instruction is clear, and while it of course doesn't cover everything it still is exactly what I need.
The app has some pretty good videos. I would give 5 stars, but the app is 550mb and moving it to the sd card still leaves 540mb on the device.
As a beginner, this is a great guide to the submissions from all of the different positions. It really makes it easy to look them up. I look forward to learning!
Just watch the first video and he is good seen few off his instructional videos on you tube and they where good as well 5 stars from me
This is a fantastic app that any martial artist should own.
I bought Stephen Kestings 'Sweeps', 'Sub Defences' and 'Submissions' apps and find them excellent in gaining requisite knowledge from. Kesting shows each move from a different angle, then lets you view another section that goes further into the key points. Its really well structured to cover the most important basic elements and an excellent resource to refer to again & again.
This is just great for anyone who wants to improve their BJJ - concise video clips make techniques clear, easy to understand and you can watch over and over, perfect for bite size learning. Just perfect in every way!
Drains phone runs in background constantly. Galaxy S4. Restarts background function even after force stopping. Good content and organization. Bad ap.
I just got the app, but when trying to install, it says "couldn't be downloaded due to an error. (498). I'm using a samsung GT- S7500. Kindly assist.
all included no internet neeed to view and learn, its all there, rip dan ham
nice! no more waiting for videos to load on slow public connections!
This app helps reinforce the submissions I've learned in training. And also helps with remembering and drilling into my dense head the "procedural" steps for the fundamentals for each submission!
Does not work..internal mediaplayer fault
Watched just a few tutorials, but it is detailed and really useful. Maybe it should download the movies just when you want to watch them or even be able to stream them. After you start adding new movies the space needed will get impossible to download at once, even 500 mb seems kinda big.
Thanks for the great app and clear instructions. Can't wait to go through all the moves on the app.
Great to review right before class. Broken down very well.
I've been waiting for this to come to Android for awhile. Excellent details, as expected.
Really useful app. Stephan again shows why he is one of the best instructors in the game.
Kesting always makes the best bjj apps.
The app looks well organized, but the videos won't play! I get an error that says "Internal MediaPlayer Fault". I've even downloaded MXPlayer to cover any missing codecs but to no avail. Pretty disappointed.
I thought this will be a great app but I can't play the videos. I already tried different video players from (mx,bs,vlc....) but still didn't worked... already did a clean install but to no avail... Please help.
Solid instruction and reference. I especially like the details.
This guy really knows his stuff.
I have the same issues as Andrew. 1. App is 500Mb and takes ages to download. I can only guess you are getting the videos so you can watch them offline. If so wouldnt this be better as something optional? 2. Then once app is downloaded and installed I can't watch videos get "Internal MediaPlayer fault" on my Samsung Galaxy Pocked Android 2.3.6. Reinstalled twice but no joy. I note the App Store says "This app is compatible with your Samsung GT-S5300" (Galaxy pocket). Can this be fixed please?
Like others, I've been waiting a long time for this app. It's worth the wait. Videos are clear, instruction is concise, and the "key points" section on each submission is priceless. At this prices, it is a steal.
Excellent breakdown and key points.
He makes it so easy to learn. All the techniques are filmed in (HD), which is an added bonus. His examples and simplicity just adds too the excitement of learning. He breaks everything down but yet keeps it short and crisp. All this valuable info/material at the same cost what you would pay for a latte at Starbucks. He's the man. A MUST HAVE!!!
Love the app, please make this and the other two avalible on either sd storage or internal memory storage, was a mission trying to get enough usb storage for it, and now i dont have the space for the other apps :/ great app tho! Huge value for money
The technique videos are short & succinct, with conceptual details linked. Big ideas are easy to identify. All techniques are shown both fast & slow & they are shown fast from multiple angles. This tool is going to be very useful for review and to help me "get" some of the submissions that I currently use with less success.
Super easy to use, good info, reasonable price! Especially nice that you don't need to be online to watch the videos. Looking forward to more!
A lot of great information at a low cost. Nice details on the subs. It runs seamlessly on my machine. My only complaint is that I want more -- right now. I cannot wait for apps on escapes and sweeps to come to Android.
During the last demonstration of the closed guard ankle-lock, if you listen closely, you can hear what I believe to have been the slightest of accidental farts. Its the kind of thing you notice once and just can't not pay attention to every time after. It really gets in your head. But don't let that discourage you from purchasing this wonderful and insightful app. Developing on this technique, I have taken things one step further at my local gym, to great success. I now audibly fart on all my opponents. As with all things in jiu jitsu, however, timing is essential, and must be capitalized on. Slip one out at the exact right moment, and you'll have earned a momentary distraction, enabling you to go for the submission. Alternatively- licking your adversary or throwing pocket sand seem to work, though these are admittedly not as high percentage of techniques.
Mr. Kesting appears to be a natural teacher in that his extensive BJJ knowledge is easy to follow. The video and sound is also top quality. I also appreciate the logical organization of the content, which is easy to navigate. I was also pleasantly surprised at how many techniques were covered.
