BJJ Core Concepts for Android
Grappling without concepts is like being in the Stone Age. For too long, I've basically been rolling like a caveman. "Hand push knee to floor. Hips away good!" Through these instructionals, I now have a nomenclature that doesn't involve "crackhead control" & a better understanding of the science behind alignment. I may never beat a giant brute but I'll at least understand why ;)
This app is definitely what I wish I saw when I first started jiujitsu. The concepts behind the techniques and the simple explainations will allow any grappler to rethink the positions they find themselves in constantly and refine them by utilizing these concepts. Thanks guys!
Like it says in the description, this is principle based instruction which can be applied to any number of techniques. You might look at this as learning how to learn jiu-jitsu. Content for me is 5-stars, I just wish it would allow for transfer to SD card on my phone as I want to have this whole series on there!
Loved the details on how to get better results when it comes to submissions. But some of the videos I believe were too short and could have went it better detail
I recommend this 100%; completely revolutionized the way I think of jiujitsu. I would be lost without it
I love this app. It should be called the the science of bjj. It shows you how and why bjj works.
The "no such thing as a counter" title plays the "no such thing as a scramble video and vice versa
Easy to understand, ready to use lessons that will improve your game.
Really good stuffs in the app which are super helpful and important for beginners to bjj
On the go... Can't ask for more.
This is like a Jiu Jitsu intervention. Stephan and Rob sit you down and tell you things you might not want to hear but that you really need to hear. Great advice for any practitioner. I wish I had learned these concepts earlier. Besides, Rob drops 2 Highlander references and a Matrix reference to boot. Thanks Rob and Stephan.
If you don't make the time for this video, you'll be spending way more time trying to figure out why you keep loosing. Really Brilliant stuff.
The final (or first?) chapter of the series is a must have: what these guys did was giving away the tools to build a solid foundation (and honestly much much more) for building an effective and superior ground work. Since I started studying on these videos, I was able to see the principles where before there were only collections of movements, making my job as a student and teacher much easier and enjoyable.
Excellent description of the, sometimes overlooked, basics of bjj. An outstanding supplement to a novice bjj practice. I am very pleased with the content and presentation. I intend to buy more courses down the road.
A great app that provides foundational concepts for everyone. It helps me to problem solve on the mat.
Great job breaking down concepts. Most other instruction is about techniques but this is foundational and can be used across techniques.
I own all four apps by Rob and Stephan and can't rate them highly enough. Made a big difference to my game and how I think about jiu jitsu.
If you want a solid set of concepts for breaking down & troubleshooting ANY grappling move (whether it's your own rolling videos, competition footage, or random videos on the internets) this is the app for you.
Great job! Complete, detailed and easy to apply. Just like the rest of his work.

I don't write reviews but I have to. I felt I plateaued but these concepts are helping the evolution of my bjj. It's a plus that Rob sneaks in some pretty good one liners that make Stephen question making these videos with him. Example, Steph at the end says "I sometimes put the guys toes in my face when doing a knee bar so I can get a good rotation." Rob says, "you know there are alot of analogies between bjj and foot fetish techniques." Then the scene cuts...haha. priceless!
