Grace Digital Remote Control for Android
OMG. If you are a company don't put out an app that does not work. Period. Read all these reviews. Rubbish for use with a $200 device. OK finally got it to find the radio but half the features do not work. Can't load the "My stuff" folder. Can do it on my laptop but not this app. ONCE AGAIN GREAT IDEA....BAD EXECUTION!
Works good for basic functions with my Grace HiFi tuner this app lacks any kind of polish. Fun fact, if you switch to FM, the presets tab dosent update but it still pulls up your saved presets if you tap them. Weird
Horrible
Doesn't work in my 3 Samsung device's. March 26, 2016. Still works really poor. Have pretty much given up on using it . April 20, 2017 Since I read the app was outsourced I had high hopes for the app operating better. Don't know, it will not recognize turning on the radios. The app shows them off even tho the app turned them on. Pretty pathetic.
App frequently freezes, menu items are squeezed and fails OFTEN. Needs a LOT work. Really poor!
Why this app has 2 stars, is beyond my comprehension. It is so broken, that it deserves negative stars....Can some one put an app together ? I will pay for it, just not from this clowns at " Grace "
Very poor app. This app stopped connecting to our radio and we cannot connect to it any more. Not sure why, but as you can see, it's unsupported. I would not consider buying another Grace Digital product!
Never works when first activated. ALWAYS have to clear cache to get the app to work and even then, after a few minutes, if stops working again. This app should be removed until it's fixed.
I see the app is open sourced now, meaning Grace is done with it. Well, I am done with Grace and won't buy another product from them going forward.
The app locks up frequently and needs to be restarted. Inquiry to the developer as to an update has gone unanswered. I have two grace radios and I enjoy them but the app needs improvement
Grace has now stopped trying to fix this app and has made the app code open source for someone else to fix it. Seriously? Yes! Nobody has taken the challenge yet. Grace Digital, please fix your own app.
Remote app is very limited. All but worthless for USB usage. Freezes constantly, no track selection control, no album art. Works ok as an Internet radio controller. For the last 3 weeks it's been unable to find my radio.
Agree with many of the comments of other users. Crashes consistently, doesn't update info. Basically just good for turning the radio on and off. Given up on using it.
This app is full of bugs to the point that it is almost unusable. Examples: 1. Volume control in app doesn't change volume, likewise mute choice. 2. When you select a different preset, the app display doesn't update. 3. If you have more than one Grace radio in use, the app gets confused about which one you are trying to control. On and on... It has good intentions (software architecture), but the app has a long way to go.
Now it no longer recognizes my two older Grace radios that still work great. I uninstalled and reinstalled and this app is worthless. If thete is no way to get the old app version reinstalled, I will never buy another Grace radio again. Very disappointed and dissatisfied ex-customer.
I dont hate this app. If it would work it would be great but it freezes as soon as you touch it. I have 2 radios and would love for it to work, thats why I bought the radios. C'mon Grace fix this!
In all my years, this is the worst performing app I've encountered. Hangs 98% of the time, jumbled text onscreen.... horrible. Pretty much only good for turning the radio on and off. Shame.
This app is nice when it works, and the concept would be wonderful...if it worked. I have also experienced several of the problems reported by others. I used to use an old Grace Solo radio that interacted poorly with this app. The app would frequently lock up, or crash, or get confused about the state the radio was in (showing it was in standby mode, when it was actually playing music), etc., etc. I chalked all these problems up to an old firmware version of one of Grace's older models. So, I recently purchase a Grace Primo, which has a much nicer user interface than the old Solo, and I hoped that the more recent firmware would solve my Android remote problems. Er...no. The app still exhibits many of the same issues. Ironically, a different vendor's UPnP Android remote controls the radio wonderfully. Very embarrassing for Grace Digital, I think.
When app works it's great. The problem is that it constantly freezes. When it locks up you have to kill the app and restart it. Much potential here, but developer needs to fix the problem.
The interface stinks, program is not responsive and crashes a lot. No updates in a year? Come on. UPDATE: After new program update 5/8/14 UI improved by fractions of a percent. Additionally, program still crashed after one minute of use.
I have found this aplication to perform well on my android phone and tablet. It provides a direct and rapid control and search service. July 27, 2015 my previous glowing review has been completely reversed. The app is very slow in responding and frequently simply does not work. Bad app
Works when it wants, completely ignores searches, attempts, and sometimes any command. It is the most infuriating app I have ever had and of course my grace consoles buttons stopped working within a year so I need to use it or nothing. PURE HATE FOR THIS APP!!!!
The app works well on my Samsung S5 and Mondo radio with SP v266. The only issue I have is that I cannot skip uPnP files, only pause them.
Is is hard to believe that any company would allow an app this bad to be out there with its name on it. This thing has been broken for years now.
Using with Grace Mondo. Love the radio - hate the app. Locks on Pandora every time and my thumbs up/down not showing on the radio. Useless. ..
How can there be such obvious unsolved bugs after so many years? The Mute, Vol up, Vol down, Previous tune, Next tune do NOT work. Grace, if you are unable to debug such a trivial piece of software, at least document the API! 2 weeks after that, good, free fully working apps will stumble over each other in the play store.
It randomly hangs and I have to kill the app and then restart it. I also find that many of the stations listed are playing the same Muzak.
Awesome when working which is almost never. Too bad because it would make a very nice device that much better.
Seems to work fine with my 3 Grace Mondo radios scattered through out my house. Sure is convenient and I enjoy having the album art and song info (along with some controls) displayed on the phone. The display is always handy and easier to read than the display on the radio itself. Would give it 5 stars if the user interface was slightly more user friendly?

I changed my previous rating of two stars back to five. I just got my Nexus 6 one week ago and the app started working...I'll keep you guys posted if anything changes.
Everything works just fine this app is very dependable thanks for reading. Give it a try nothing to lose for free and disregard the morons comments about freezing they obviously are lamers and it shows!
When it works it is fantastic but it locks up after a while. Please fix this. Here's a clue for you. The app works perfectly unless you happen to accidently close it. When restarted it will lock up almost immediately. This is in a Samsung Galaxy S4.
Allows you to pick a channel and then after a while it will not update with the station/song info. I have to close the app and open it again to get the current station status and what is playing and get me info on a channel if I change it.
Doesn't work. Don't buy grace products. The app has been garbage for years.
Previous version was okay. This has now become a useless application in all senses. Does not pick up my radio, freezes constantly and irritates me as I can now not monitor what songs are playing. Please Grace, fix it!
This is almost useless for playing your own MP3s from folders on your PC. It's a pain in the neck to set up Windows Media Player to stream as a UPNP player, but it's doable. When you finally get it working, the remote app drops the connection or times out (I have a very strong home network), and when you finally do get to play them...every album plays the tracks IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER! It works OK for my classical music, which I always number in order, and it's OK for a greatest hits album, but it doesn't work at all for disks where the order matters, like Dark Side of the Moon, for example.
This works almost perfect on my Nexus 10. What I like is the quick response to switching of presets and volume control. Also installed this on my S5 and it is working flawlessly.
The Ap on the Playstore was not compatible with my Samsung S3 (did not find the radio) but Support were very helpful and sent me an older version which worked great. Anybody that has issues should email GD support as they are very helpful. My Ap works great! Thanks Lynda from GD support. You are awesome!
