Google Arts & Culture VR for Android
One of the best apps for Daydream VR. I know nothing about art and I usually don't care to look at paintings and things but I tried this because it was free and it was on Daydream. I'm glad I did. This is one of the best apps I have tried on Daydream. It's so interesting that looking at the paintings and hearing the history behind them. I hope they expand this and also add other forms of Art.
Doesnt work on S8
Geo restricted..
I'm not a big fan of paintings nor do I really understand what they mean other then what's right on the painting but having the narrator explain the time place and meaning of the paintings made it an interesting experience
Need freedom to view any artwork integration with street view with floor like interior, this is just a shell of what it could be, I'll pay for these features, just don't nannify your apps google
Pretty cool concept. I just wish you could move around the art as if you were actually in the museum. Instead it is more like a slideshow that you have much more control over.
Nice that you can zoom RIGHT in and see the individual brush strokes. Plus it makes me feel dead posh.
This is why I purchased a Daydream. Hopefully there will be more collaboration and novel content with other galleries, museums, or original collections. I wouldn't seeing even quarterly themed updates like with Lapham's if they were as tasteful and enriching.
Very well done. I feel like I'm visiting a museum in person. Check out the audio guides!
They really need to update the content of the paintings to be 3D as well. Zooming into the images is pretty underwhelming when it's just a flat 2D image, especially on Van Gogh's, etc. Probably asking for a lot, but it is a big downside ATM
Would be great for the art lover with the ability to zoom in the painting and find the history of each painting.
Need more content. Nice concept but only a small amount to see.
Awesome! Would be even better to add a museum explore mode
I really wish you could get more resolution from the art. it really does it a disservice. ok for students, but not for someone hoping to get a great view of art.
I finally looked at some art! The guided audio was real nice.
Won't go past the title screen on a Pixel. Just sits there. All day. Wonderful idea I've heard, complete waste of time right now.
Was excited about this, but can't get past the title screen.

Amazing—captures art in culture in a high quality VR experience
Fantastic trip through the world of famous art. It's like walking around in a museum and having your own personal tour guide describing all the interesting facts behind each display. There's a ton of content, and the quality is excellent. An impressive launch release!
For me, this is Daydream's killer launch app--and it's still only in its preview stage! The 50+ paintings available at launch are absolutely incredible to see in VR... and the light, airy gallery that you are virtually set in is completely enveloping, yet unobtrusive at the same time. I simply have a sense of place, which enhances the experience while viewing these masterpieces up close. The controls are intuitive and the audio guides are a brilliant addition. Can't wait to see what comes next!
I love what Google (and other companies) are doing with VR. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more content.
I was expecting mildy entertaining, what I got was an amazing close up of various masterpieces. Cannot recommend enough!
I can see EVERYTHING.
So awesome to experience art at scale and to hear the stories behind each piece.
Amazing app! What a fantastic VR cultural experience!
Amazing app!
What can I say about Google Arts & Culture VR that hasn't already been said about the wheel, penicillin, or the iPhone? I have experienced many highs in my life. The scratch-off lottery ticket I purchased in lieu of a bottle of Boone's Farm that resulted in $500 spending cash. The used black Camaro I bought with those winnings. Meeting Hulk Hogan. But nothing compares with the day I downloaded this app.

It isn't a bad app. But it's lacking a few things one of the biggest is this is just paintings and pics. They should've included pots, tools, and sculptures. On top of that, the selection is lacking. Like I would expect Leonardo da Vinci works. Lastly, they need to add a search feature
